You know, when I lived in Nebraska (up by Norfolk, Johnny Carson's hometown), people did wave and say "hi" whether they knew you or not. On my commute to work, I think every vehicle I met waved. Coming from the Chicago region, that friendliness was sure a breath of fresh air!!!!

I'm sure Melanie can attest to the friendliness of Iowa folk. . .

It's true! Especially in the more rural parts. We live in a pretty "metro area" but where the rest of my family lives a lot of people wave. When I go home to visit sometimes it feels really refreshing and I wish I could stay!

Iowa is a great state to live in, just the perfect mix of rural and modern! Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone..

Speaking of the Wizard of Oz...I remember when it became color. It was hyped up for months. Everyone (that had a color set) were counting down the days to watch it!

Hi All!
I'm home with Jackson today but haven't been on the computer to now. Took him to the doctor and he has an ear infection so got some antibiotics and she said to call Thursday and let her know how he's doing. Poor kid is miserable and not eating much, which is really weird for him.

I'm going to go downstairs and do a little packing while he's sleeping!
Will try to catch up on posts later!

I just went to pick up Elizabeth early from her Brownie meeting (Mina is the leader). She's sick now. This same crap happened to us last year...one or the other of us was sick right up until the sailaway party.

It's a good thing you stayed home! Ear infections are miserable!

At one of Jessalyn's first check-ups, her pediatrician looked in her ears and predicted she wouldn't have ear infections. So far, that prediction has come true!

She obviously didn't take after me because I had them all the time when I was little. I even had to have tubes in my ears. . .

I know it has been asked, but where is everyone who is staying the night before the sailing staying at?? I keep bouncing between POR and the raddison and other hotels a coco beach.....anyone???

Congrats Jeff! It would have been funny if I had even been close to the 14,000 post - look out - I'm trying for 15,000 Good thing I did not call you 10 minutes earlier to come and pick up DD.

Let's all get being sick out of the way this week. Last year we had an ear infection and asthma issues right up to the night before the cruise. No fun. Hope everyone feels better soon!
