For all you "dieters" just got this e-mail from the webmaster......

What is it about cruising that attracts so many travelers to the seven seas? Is it the opportunity to see the world? The remarkable cultures waiting to be experienced in exotic ports of call? The promise of a perfect family vacation?

Or is it the 1,400 lbs. of lobster?

Cruising has long been associated with delicious, abundant food, so just for fun we asked what it takes to supply a typical week-long cruise on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas, the largest ship afloat. Here's what is consumed every 7 days:
234,000 appetizers; 105,000 meals and 300,680 desserts
20,000 lbs. of beef, including 69,000 steaks
12,000 lbs. of chicken
4,000 lbs. of seafood; 2,500 lbs. of salmon and 1,400 lbs. of lobster
65,000 lbs. of fresh vegetables and 35,000 lbs. of fresh fruits
5,800 lbs. of cheese
28,000 fresh eggs
18,000 slices of pizza
8,000 gallons of ice cream
1,500 lbs. of coffee and 1,500 gallons of milk
11,500 cans of soda; 19,200 bottles and cans of beer and 2,900 bottles of wine

Geez..........and I'm the blonde.................

Jaime-Have you ever had chocolate covered orange peels? YUMMY!!!! I'll try to pick some up for you if I can get to Williamsburg shortly before the trip. They boil the peels and they begin to carmelize (?) and they're dipped in dark chocolate. This is the only time I eat dark chocolate........well, used to anyway "Sugar is poison to my body,...."

I did noticed that we are linked to the other late diners now...so I guess my TA did her job:goodvibes I was not sure if she got my email...

How could you tell, Jaime? I called the night before last and my TA left me a voicemail saying she had taken care of it for us, but I don't know how I could tell...is it on the DCL website?

Hi fellow cruisers! We will be sailing the magic on the 24th. 51 of us accompanying our fabulous Grandma "Tick Tock". We are having a family reunion and gathering from all over the country. There are a few kids 3, 4, 9 yr olds x 3, 13, 16, and and my dd17. The rest are grown up types. Half of us cruised together last year Mayy 2006 and had a great time! We are really looking forward to a Magical vacation.
Wendi, kickin back in CA. :hippie:

Hi Wendi & family (and all the other new families) - I'm Jennifer, sailing with my DH Devin, my 3 yr old DD Lily, and my mother Mary. Great to see some younger kids coming on your sailing - we'll have to introduce the kids at the meet.

You know I wonder if we should go ahead and try and link with the late diners too? The thing is that I was going to try to get early, but have no idea if we'll actually get it or not.

It couldn't hurt - I don't think it would prevent you from getting early, but I'm not sure. We've decided to stick with late...everyone's tips were so helpful plus it also works well with the time change. So excited to be linked to everyone else!! (thanks Shell!)

We have a countdown calendar on our fridge and we've been counting it down daily...it makes me happy to see those days ticking down. Every morning Lily asks if today is the day we are going to see Mickey, and I say no, not today, and then she says "Well, maybe (WDW) will be open tomorrow". So cute!! Yesterday she got a Tinkerbell costume from her cousins in the Halloween goody box they sent - fun, fun. So now she has that, her Snow White dress, and a pirate costume. The kid is set for the cruise, although I think she needs black boots for her pirate costume ;) . Yet for some reason, when I ask what she wants to be for Halloween this year, she keeps saying she wants to be a bat...so I might be making bat wings this weekend.

Can't wait to go home and watch "The Office" and "30 Rock" tonight - I love Thursdays!!

Those are so good...I also like chocolate covered potato chips - mmmmm.

Well, let's see, I've been writing the same article since this morning because I just can't seem to get into it ... but on the bright side, I've found time to post, PM, and e-mail stuff :thumbsup2

I really should go home. Eating healthy is a pain in the ***........I long for the days when I could order a pizza:sad2:

Traffic is going to get bad, so I guess I'll check back in later.

I swear Jaime........if it wasn't for hockey; they could just Canada down.

No Airborne, no Party City, no chocolate covered orange peels:sad2:
