You can get a disability card for Disney at the Guest Services in the front of any park. If she uses a wheelchair, she won't need the card.
This is called a Guest Assistance Card and is a tool to help clue in the CMs about what invisible needs someone has related to a disability. If she is using a wheelchair, she should not need a Guest Assistance Card unless she has other needs that are not met by using the wheelchair. There is information about Guest Assistance Cards in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, near the top of the thread list on the disABILITIES Board.

Wow. Everybody must be REALLY busy today.

I might be going to a moviepopcorn:: by myself tonight. DH went out last night while I stayed home... it's been a really rough week for Mommy... and I have to work again this Sunday... (DH is shooting another wedding on Saturday so I have to work on Sunday) so he's agreed to watch the kids.

Anyone seen "The Brave One" yet? I might go to that one.!

Cheri - we really liked the gingerbread house making> it was fun for the whole family!

Tea with Wendy/Alice. The girls did this on both trips while I did something else... and though they "liked" it...it wasn't that huge of a hit. I think they went back the second time only because it was at a time when they didn't have anything else to do and I had a massage planned.

Wine tasting - Mina and I did this on the Nov. sailing and thought it was fun. It was a little more "serious" than the martini tasting..but wine is our drink of choice..so it was a good time even though it was a little staid.

Thanks for the feedback! Are you back home now? Hope your travels through our flat little state were satisfactory!:goodvibes

I'm interested in the wine tasting -- Maybe we should make that one of our nana meets. That could help take some of the "serious edge" off of the experience. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: On the other hand, it could also get us kicked out. . .:rolleyes1

Must be an Iowa wedding -- I didn't think anyone got married on Game Day in Nebraska!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Does he charge extra for a wedding that interferes with a Husker game???

Yep I'm home...and I like the idea of coordinating the wine tasting with other bananaheads. Stony and Sarah did it at the same time as us last year..but it was truly "too quiet" in there! Nothing like the wild Martini tasting - thanks in large part to Pat (U2Pixies).

Hi all. What a great day. Do you know why it's great? It's Friday! :cool1: Ofcourse, you already knew that.
So tomorrow, I have to work. Yup, No rest for the weary. I can stand around and prattle all day long. I've also learned to play "Somewhere over the rainbow" on the piano. My hand hurt rightnow! :headache: But what can I do.
So what's up around the world eh?

- Josh

Wow another day at school:sad: .

Wait a minute.....it's Friday! :goodvibes

Time to get back to what i do best.....:surfweb:

Another place I miss is Zero's. They have great subs!!!
Ahhh, yes Zeros rocks and so does their ice............

That could help take some of the "serious edge" off of the experience.
I'm up for that...........I can't imagine why you would think that would take the serious edge off:confused3

Shell-Are you back safely yet? We miss you...........
Mutt-Where the @%*! are you? We miss you too...........
Jaime-? Doing alright?
Okie-Hope things are going well for your folks
Jeff-Welcome Home, here's some extra   to get you through your busy weekend.
Wendy-Have you tired of us so quickly?
Tonya-What ya' up to this weekend?
Cheri-I'm proud of you..........:thumbsup2 (Doesn't that make you feel great?)
Hunter-Did ya' get logged on yet?
Mel-Hope you got to the moviespopcorn::
Kathy-Gonna try those cookies this weekend

Everyone else......:wave2: (Including lurkers...)

Thanks again for all the well wishes:) Mom is coming along-having highs and lows though-one minute she is happy, and the next minute she is crying:confused3 Then fusses with the physical therapists. Dad was moved to a rehab today to start with speech therapy as well physical and occupational therapies.

Calling all prior Radisson Hotel guests.....what time do they take you to the port??? I found that I can rent a car from Budget at the airport for $56.00- but I can't return it on Friday night-it will have to be Saturday Morning--it is 1/4 of a mile from the hotel--sure hope DH has his wheaties that morning for the walk back to the hotel :lmao:

Have to work tomorrow-while the kids clean the house  then we are having my sister in laws surprise 60th b-day party here....I'll be happy when this is all over...my plate is so full it is dripping onto the tablecloth:rotfl2: Calgon....take me away :rolleyes1

 I'm tellin' ya' what...........there are so many brilliant minds on this thread we could rule the world. We could just from town to town showering pixie dust and passing out tequila shots:lmao: (while wearing our tiaras of course.....)

Judy/Robin-where are you guys staying? We're flying in on T-Day and staying 2 nights at Port Orleans FQ, then staying Sat night after the cruise at The CBR...........I think Thursday we're going to brave the MK around 6 ish in hopes that those who didn't get dining in the park will head out, and stay 'til closing at 1 am:cool1: I love the MK late at night

Then, Friday we're going to do some Outlet Shopping (I know, I know.......) and then head to Epcot and stay 'til midnight. Can't decide if I want to do the CP or not. My mom uses a walker and I'm not sure she's going to want to stand in line that long.............

Good grief, I'm trying to play catch up with the six million posts...geez...somebody has to work... KIDDING!

Judy and I will be at a home with a private pool, jacuzzi, etc. in Windhym Palms, I think. With two families splitting (several bedrooms and baths) we are only paying about $100 nightly per family. Can't beat it...Judy and I will definitely be in the World some and Ken and Sarah will tear up Universal (traitors) if I know them well. AND YES, WE WILL BE ON THE MOST MAGICAL NANA FIREWORKS CRUISE Friday night! Sorry to rub it in, right, Christine?

Brings new meaning to nana nana boo boo, doesn't it?:lmao:

Okie-Hang in there...........

Judy/Robin: Do you guys do the wine tastings or martini tastings on board?

Hip Hoorray... Two Months from today Iwill be sitting by the pool in my lovely Orlando rental home celebrating my birthday....Getting totally ready for our cruise just a few days later with my friends... the "you really don't know these people???" friends as my mother calls you all! I have met over the last few months.... happy happy, joy joy~
Strep is on the run both girls are feeling much better, I unfortunately went to the dentist and then right to the peridontist and was scheduled for three teeth to be pulled- just call me Goober Pyle! Hopefully, like the tim man, I will be all put back together again by Nov.
Tomorrow is the big wedding I am attending I am sure it will be fun-
talk to you all later...........:grouphug:
Judy

I did the tequilla tasting last time, plan to do the martini one this time... I am too low brow to do the wine tasting and red wine makes me depressed.....
shall we make it a group meeting?:cool1:

Budget has a shuttle too, if he liked to drive you to the port with the luggage and then return the car.

Good morning from Akron Ohio! I feel like Matt Lauer at times! Where in the world is ... Auntie Woo? I had a little dog glued to me all night in the spooning position

Hey Kim ... wanna stop picking on that kid of yours? He was sick, for cryin out loud! You should know, you're his mother :rotfl2:

Judy, I suspect that the martini tastings are going to be a Nana Head group event :rotfl: See ya there!!!

:bday: MINA AND ELIZABETH!!!!!!!!! :bday: Mina, don't forget that you promised to post!!

OK, here's a little something to start your day. Don't even ask how this came up this morning, but I figure if I have to live with it in my head all day, gosh darnit, so do my friends:
http://members.shaw.ca/cybernana/funpage/dominick/dominick.htm

Morning all,

Shell, how in the world did you think of Dominick the donkey?? STRANGE!!

Okie, I agree with Linda. have Rick take you guys to the port and leave you and the luggage, then drop off the car at budget and take that shuttle to the port. It will probably be faster that way from what I saw at the Radisson last time.

I know when you check in at the Radisson you can sign up for a time to catch the shuttle, so first to check in gets better choices of times, but the catch there is the next morning people get all excited and crowd onto shuttles they wernt scheduled for.
Drivers dont seem to say anything, just load on the people who are there until the shuttle is full. We saw some mad people who didnt get on the shuttle they were signed up for.
So it can take you a few hours to get there that way.

I think the first shuttle was around 10 or 10:15 a.m. we drove over and paid to park. we figured it was worth the convenience to pay. Plus coming back I have seen huge lines waiting curbside where it says the shuttle will be picking them up to go back to the hotel. I dont know what time they start picking up to come back.

Jeff,
tell Mina and Elizabeth Happy Birthday from us!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

We are celebrating a birthday today too. No big plans, Greg is going to spend his birthday mowing the grass, washing the cars, etc.... Maybe catch a movie sometime this weekend.
I did bake a chocolate ice cream cake for dessert.

Have a great day everyone, and dont forget the pictures of the day!!!

i am off to find one myyself to post.

Kathy
