Gosh Jaimie-you and I seem to have very similar weight loss huh?? Me 85 pounds in 2001 and you 88-ok-we both have 12 to get off by the cruise--WE CAN DO IT :cheer2: OK Christine you too...although I'm sure you would look fabulous in the hefty poofy sleeves number :rotfl2:

Mom is at the nursing facility-she seemed much happier there than in the hospital-the physical therapist indicated she would be there for a good month or so. I just want her to be safe.

Cheri-we were out on deck at that same time-Rick was video taping-he got us driving right into the pouring rain-pretty cool to see:banana:

Well, I work this weekend so no posting for me :sad2:

Everyone have a great weekend.

We were up on Deck 10 by the sports area. Sarah & Stony were also up there. It's not every day that you get to see storms at sea!

Good luck to your mom, Okie. Hopefully she'll make good progress in the next few weeks.

Judy, thanks for the info on Orient Beach! Hope no hurricanes or storms hit the east coast. . .

Have a great day everyone! Going to go run, then go to my sister's house to watch the Huskers.

Cheri

Good morning everyone,

hope everyone has a good weekend planned.
No real plans here, maybe catch a movie tomarrow.

It is already HOT outside.
I will look for a picture of the day and post it soon,

Good luck everyone on your diets. I guess I will be the only plump lady in the group !! No diets here.:goodvibes Too old to care anymore anyways;)

Oh whatever, Kathy! We could use you as a stake and tie up our tomato plants!:sad2:

Ok -- a couple topics to discuss amongst yourselves:

1. Do you prefer to have the first lunch upon embarkation at Topsiders, Parrot Cay, or neither (go to Plutos, have "liquid lunch", etc.)?

-- We have always gone to Topsiders (Beach Blanket) and it's o.k. It just seems so jumbled and chaotic. Both times we've sat inside because the outside tables are full. Just wondering if we should consider P.C.

2. I saw this basic topic on the main board (and I think we've hit on this a few times here): What are some things you definitely want to do on the cruise (either for the first time, or because you've done them before)?

-- We will definitely eat at least one dinner at Topsiders. They have GREAT table service and it's much more intimate than the dining rooms. Just remember to tip in cash.

-- I do want to go to martini tasting, and perhaps wine or tequila tasting as well.

-- I will be sure to take motion-sickness medicine on day 1 "just in case" even though until last year I'd NEVER been seasick. Think of all the food I missed out on during our first dinner!:rotfl:

3. What are some things you won't be doing again?

Not sure of all the things yet. . .

-- I won't gobble down the "all Hands on Deck" cheese plate like there's no tomorrow prior to going to Topsiders for a huge porterhouse steak!:rotfl2:

Thanks for any input!!

Cheri

Cheri,
we always go to the buffet for lunch, it is a great place to people watch.:thumbsup2

we will catch the buffet for dinner once on the trip because it is so much more relaxed which is a nice change of pace after a few nights in the restaurants.

We probably will NOT go to the return guest get together. we went last time and won a clock but it really wasnt that big a deal for us the rest of the time we spent there. Kind of boring.

will DEFINATELY catch the adult Karoake again this time to see who will be performing:rotfl2: Any takers here who will be performing?? I will have my cam corder and camera this time!!

we have never gone to the farewell get together in the atrium the last night. We have always been too busy, so this time I want to do that for sure.

We will do the tree lighting ceremony again for sure.

Of course we arrive early every trip to watch for the sea of yellow shirts to arrive!! If you havnt got yours already, be sure and order them soon!!!
It really adds to the excitment of the first day to see all the yellow shirts arriving,

Hi all. I was just informed that one of the girls I work with (and I wish I could date :thumbsup2 ) Has been on the cruise four times! I never knew. Her next cruise will be in the medditeranian next summer, so yall won't get to meet her. :sad1:
Cheri -- I like topsiders, especially when you can see all of Florida (Or atleast cocoa beach) and you can see the NASA assembly building. It's also a great Disney Character attractor. (Last time we saw Max, Goofy's son.)
I also like to be at the Stack, I usually go there.

I have a question too. Does anyone know if the promenade is for people 18+?

Peace Out! :hippie:
Josh

Cheri, we did PC last time with Bob & Lisa instead of Topsiders, and honestly, it was excellent. It sucked being inside, but all in all, it was worth it!

And I agree with Kathy on the Castaway Club "meeting". Although ... they did have those yummy Mickey rice crispie treats ...

Cheri:
we did PC for the first day lunch both times we've cruised and enjoyed it both times. It sets a good tone for the trip for us.

We have never had dinner at Topsiders but I'd like to try that this time.

Definitely want to do the wine and martini tastings again.

And I love hanging out late night in the Promenade Lounge with a glass o' something while checking my email for the day.

Mina and I hope to see one or two of the adult shows this time. The times never worked out with the kids last cruise except for on the last night at Pub Night. We had such fun that night, we want to find a way to do it again once or twice.

Hope everyone's team won today (geez Shell. the buckeyes sure struggled with Akron - and Cheri -close call for the Huskers).

Josh,
The promenade lounge is a family lounge, all ages welcome all the time.

I just watched the Magic pull out on the web cam:thumbsup2 That gets me excited for our cruise!!!!

It really will be here so fast you wont believe it:yay:

Kathy

Hi Everyone!

Okie, your mother might really enjoy being at the nursing home sometimes she might find some fellowship that she doesn't get elsewhere. Good luck to her and the family.

Skylar's team got skunked today but it IS only the first game. I thought Skylar played a good game. The pool water is about down where I need it to be. Will probably wait until tomorrow to blow the lines and put on the winter cover.

Hope Gabrielle passes you by safely Carolinas.

Hoping for a relatively quiet day tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

It's starting to get cool out here...fall is in the air...:sad2:

Will it be warm enough in Orlando to go to a waterpark when we get off the Magic?

-- We will definitely eat at least one dinner at Topsiders. They have GREAT table service and it's much more intimate than the dining rooms. Just remember to tip in cash.--

I always thought Topsiders was a buffet...is there tables outside?

Jaime,
At night on the `7 day cruises Topsiders is NOT a buffet, it is a sit down restaurant with a salad bar to one side. You are greeted, seated, waited on, and have a great menu to choose from.
It is closed the first and last night of the trip. It is 6:00 to 8:00 P.m. I believe. Service is faster and much quieter than the restaurants are and a lot easier with young kids too.

During this time they do NOT use the outside tables like they do at breakfast and lunch time.

Thanks Kathy. I'll remember that when we're on the ship, I'd love to hear live piano.
I also forgot about that cocoa beach web cam. I have to look at the pictures again.

I'm still busy on my game I'm programming. Hope it'll be done within the next week or two...

Oh, and if anyone cares about what it's like on the ship when you're supposed to be at dinner, it's like a ghost ship! since most are either at dinner or at the theater, there's noone on decks 9 and 10!!!!

Hey all, Wow you guys have been busy don't have time to catch up on everything now but just wanted to check in while I am getting ready for the party tonight. My cupcakes came our the way I wanted them to :cool1: Here's a few pictures of them (yes I made each and every flower by hand):
