:Hi All-
Good news, Kayla's friend Ellen is going to travel with us so we are all back to excitement level. And, feeling the support of my Dis Nanaheads behind me, I told my family today that we are NOT going to change our plans.... we will leave either Tuesday afternoon after school or Wednesday very early!~ Can't say there were smiles all around but inside I was grinning!

The girls were off looking for Formal night clothes... I found a couple things but will probably take some of it back:confused3 When you are a size 14/16, it is hard to find things I like to wear.... Will probably go the Atkins diet route starting tomorrow, I do best with it and believe me, I have tried them all. I tried South Beach but it had too much reading and prep for me. Of course that was several years ago... it may be much simpler now. Any challenge and I seem to just give up.:rolleyes1

Off to do laundry and get ready for a new school week. Will check back later....Have a good week!:dance3:
Judy

Would that be Mall of the Bluffs?? Or Westroads, Crossroads, Oakview?? I'm sure there about 20 new malls in the Omaha metro area now!

When I was in college, Oakview was just opening. . .now you can figure out how OLD I am!!!!

DD has some pick Mickey crocs -- luckily her feet aren't growing as fast so she should be able to wear them on the cruise. The boys will need pool shoes, so you better get them. . .:rolleyes1

Cheri- That was Mall of the Bluffs. Although we hit Westroads last weekend. I work near there too.

I drove home during the start of the Husker game on Saturday and Omaha was completely deserted. My mother-in-law went to the game. She said it was a little hot in the sun but sounded like they had a good time.

Josh-
Good job with the 6000th post!

Well, off to get DS ready for his first day of school. Spent a good bit of the day doing laundry and getting the house cleaned. I hate to come home to a dirty house from vacation. Had a great time at the oceanfront. Summer really is over when all the tourists are gone and the local get to take over the beach again...........

DS would be disappointed about going back to school if he didn't know come Wed. night they would be handing us a Key To The World card:banana:

Hope everyone had a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathy-Glad you're having a nice time.

Dawn-We miss you.

Good evening Nanas!

Shell -- awesome job on the dress!!! That's like 12-13 extra drinks on board!!!:thumbsup2

Judy -- great news on your DD! Good luck on Atkins! We did it a few years back and had some success. Although the first week or so was killer! When you actually read the fine print, it just goes back to the basics -- no processed food, lean meats, no sugar, lots of veggies, etc. We have maintained many of those habits but that pesky alcohol gets in the way!!!

Okie -- hope your mom keeps improving.

Kathy -- good to hear from you! Have a good trip home.

Christine -- you may be suffering now, but you'll soon have the last laugh when we're all crying about S***!!!! How's the restaurant doing?

Kim -- have a great time! I'm soooo jealous!

Everyone else -- hope you had a great holiday weekend! We spent the day hanging out at "Wilson beach" (our back yard!) sipping mojitos and relaxing in the "hot" tub (set at about 92 degrees).:cool1: :cool1:

Talk to ya later!

Cheri

Good job with the 6000th post!

So you have a bit of a hike to get to work!

Was your DH pleased with the game results?

Good morning everyone. Well, we can see from the past few days that posting is getting slow. So, here's some questions for you guys:

1. Tell me about some of the activities you had done: wine tasting, family karoake, animation. Jeff-I know you guys have done a lot of the family things, what did you like? Tell me about the adult things too.

2. "Drink of the Day"-Which do you think is the best?

3. Tell me about some of the things you guys have purchased while in port?

Let's keep getting to one another......................

Off to get DS to school. He's so happy:rolleyes1

Judy and I LOVE the food and cocktail demos...they always give prizes (free drinks) and nice samples. We enjoyed the fruit carving demo, the food specialties, and THE COCKTAIL show! Bring a sweater, though.

The tea party is great for younger girls and moms.

At St. Thomas, I always buys perfume and cologne at Havensport mall (where we dock). Jewelry is another favorite, but diamonds may be better priced in the states at times. If you want jewels...price them in the states. I've bought lots of gold necklaces and charms. Ken busted out and got my 10th anniversay band there:love: ...we did find a great price on the diamonds in that case! Go early, and they'll have the ring sized before you go! I wonder if DH will remember our 17th anniversary is coming up in December???? Nah...I'd rather just book another cruise!

Better get back to work...I hear those kiddies coming now!

Have a MAGICAL DAY!

Hi guys.. just checking in. Our Lara started Montessori school today and I'm reeling in mixed emotions going in... she just said goodbye and went right in and she was all so OK about it..!!! She's only THREE!!

Oh well, life does go on... I'm looking forward to the answers to marriedatdsny1996's questions. Haven't been on the cruise before so PRETTY excited!!

Take care one and all :)

Yes, I drive across the Omaha metro every day, it's mostly interstate though. And it's going to get longer because we have just broken ground on a new building that will be at 156th & Maple!

If you haven't been to Omaha in a while you would be surprised at all the changes. The new hot thing is outdoor malls. The most "elite" one is located at 168th & Dodge- "Village Pointe". Personally I think this is kind of a crazy trend seeing as we live somewhere that is really hot in the summer and cold in the winter!

I think DH was happy with the game! All I know is he listened to hours of post-game show on the radio! I always find it kind of amusing how they can rehash every aspect of the game for hours afterwards.:rotfl:

Awwww. I'm sure she'll have a great time, it's probably you that will be a mess!

We love going to Studio Sea after dinner for whatever is going on - Walk the Plank, Who Wants to Be a Mousketeer, Family Karaoke... Elizabeth and I were chosen for Walk the Plank last cruise and it was great fun. We also had a lot of fun with the Gingerbread House making.

And what we really love is that the girls like going to the clubs (or at least Emily liked Flounders last time...we'll see this time about the "ears club" as she calls it. And we get adult time. More than we ever expected and it is wonderful. Wine tasting, martini tasting, a couple hours at the adult pool with a coffee drink from Cove Cafe, dinner at Palo, brunch at Palo, couple's massage... Whew! This time we booked the Spa Villa package for one of the at-sea days! :cool1:

Ok. I officially can't wait now!

Sounds like everyone had a nice weekend. We went to the zoo yesterday. For those that don't know the Omaha zoo is one of the nicest in the country. I highly recommend it if you ever come through this way.

I can't answer most of the questions as I haven't been on an Eastern cruise before or a 7 day Disney. Also I didn't try any of the drinks of the day since I was pregnant. I can tell you the drinks of the day are generally tropical in nature on cruises. And on some of my past cruises they were not necessarily the cheapest drink, but I do not know if that is true on DCL.

The sail-away party was really fun the best part is when the horn goes off. I saw 2 of the shows on the 3 day and enjoyed them both. The food was good, for the most part, we didn't do Palo on the last cruise so looking forward to that this time.

Castaway Cay is just a beautiful beach! Don't count on being able to find someone easily or using your walkie talkies, because we had a slight problem with this plan. But otherwise Alex had a great time playing in the sand and I had fun just soaking up the sun.

We bought tequila when we visited Cozumel and I bought rum in Jamaicia (which was really good by the way!!) Chris bought me jewelry in a couple of places too.

I don't think it's the specific onboard activities that get me excited, I just really enjoy being at sea and not having to cook or clean for a week!:cool1:

Anyway. I was thinking of putting a photo up, BUT I forgot my camera this morning. It was kind of a bad sleep weekend as Jackson is still recovering from his cold. So I'm a little sleepy.

So here's my photo of the day:

Yes. That is what I am hoping for too!;)

Jeff-Are the events in Studio Sea crowded? I know a lot of them begin REALLY close to late dining being over. Is it important to get there early?

You know, I can't recall it ever being really packed when we were in there except for one time for Who wants to be a mousketeer. And I will say that we had a much better experience doing what we wanted to do at the times we wanted to do it when we had early dining on the first cruise we went on last August. We did late dining on the Bananahead cruise last November and have switched back to early because we like the flow of the evening better. Not sure why..but it just seemed to suit us better even though at home we are late eaters and eating dinner at 5:30 or 6 is out of character for us.

Match Your Mate was a blast. Tonya et al were trying so hard to get Bill & I on stage but to no avail! Heck, maybe we'll try this year! Cove Cafe coffee drinks ROCK, the adult shows (same performer as in the family shows, but with grown-up topics) were all pee-your-pants funny :rotfl:. RICH PURPURA, ANYONE? :rotfl2:

Pub Night, held on the final night in DI-Versions, was the ultimate as it was the 2nd time since the 2:45 meet our first day that a huge number of us Nana Heads got together for a final good-bye. We hugged, we cried, we laughed, we promised to see each other soon!

The martini tasting was fun, and I did attend one of the art auctions. But to be honest, for me, going to these things during the day was really hard because all I could think was "Why am I inside when I could be outside in the sun??".

2. "Drink of the Day"-Which do you think is the best?
Don't think we ever even tried them. They tend to be sugary/sweet foo-foo cocktails and that's just not for me.

3. Tell me about some of the things you guys have purchased while in port?
We were terrible about buying anything. I think I bought a toe-ring in St. Maarten. This time, however, we are bringing extra luggage to buy buy buy! I told Bill that this time I'm getting a nice piece of jewelry, and I know we will be on a major booze-run! Packing the Great Stuff!

Yeah, I think on our RCCL cruise I got really burnt out on those type of drinks! And now they don't realy appeal to me. Then I became a margarita fanatic. I craved margaritas when I was pregnant. Lately I'm into wine....

I like 'em all. I an equal opportunity drinker (except beer):woohoo:
So, I guess you guys haven't tried the Full Frontal Nanaty yet? It's pretty foo foo:sad1: It's okay, I'll discuss it with my therapist later.............

We want to do Match Your Mate........Remember, I told you we're competitive. Our DS is too. He wants to go to all the quiz/trivia show.......Think You Know Your Family (done that Jeff?) This isn't something I'm necessarily proud of but I am aware!!!!!!!!

Anyone done any of the fitness classes?

Nope. I'm assuming that must have been on Palo night...coz I don't even remember it being on the schedule! :rotfl:
