I cant help with the motivation thing...I've only raised dogs....wouldn't have a clue how to motivate a teen. I DO, however know about pirate shirts. http://www.viecotours.com/store/index.php?csid=ca9552da851cbb2d75a2a86ac8bbfc9d&sl=EN&currency=usd is probably a good bet for variety. Almost anywhere had pirate designs of some kind but as I said before...me and dogs are, well....y'know...we get along and the combo of pirates and pups appeals to me. I believe there is a Key Largo site with an abundance of pirate stuff too....http://www.largocargo.com/. I absolutely love this site and have had no problem getting things from them. I love seadog designs and big hed designs. Check them out.

Bill won $1000 on a royal flush on the poker machines at the old Aladdin! We stayed at the MGM that time and watched them building New York New York ... pretty cool!

:yay: :yay: :yay: I wanna hit a Royal Flush! When we were in Vegas in Feb., our good friend (who lives in Reno) hit a Royal Flush, but she was only playing ONE COIN AT A TIME!!!  Everyone at the bar gave her hard time!!

We stayed at the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood on that trip.

They were also filming a movie there (untitled at the time). Christine -- do you know what it was?

Yep, both Robin and I have DD- Kayla(16) and Rachel(13) are mine and she has Sarah (14).

Thanks for the links to pirate stuff.... I'll try to get into it- Love thenight, not big on costumes!

Anyways....time to go for my run. Good LUCK Cheri!!!!! Kick their collective fannies!!!!

Thanks for the well-wishes! The race went pretty well. I hit the time I wanted and I finished 2nd in my age group. The overall female was also in my age group, so I got a first-place medal.:cool1:

Jess is now enjoying the spoils of the race -- the first of 4 bottles of Gatorade!:rotfl:

Bill, for your race, make sure you visit the refreshment table early & often if it's good stuff!:thumbsup2

Hope you all have a great weekend -- the weather here is gorgeous!

Okie -- hang in there. :grouphug:

Finally -- :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: to all of you who survived the first week of school! So far DD LOVES:love: first grade!!

Gotta go shower and get into my Husker gear!!

Cheri??? Can I take a crack at it?????? Lots of movies filmed there but I wanna guess!!!

Wow...you can sure tell when Kathy's away! I know Josh is probably busy so I'm gonna fill in for him for a little bit.

I have been busy. Besides the fact pf sleeping and watching homegames, I've been busy programming again (yes, game programming.) I love programming and trying out new things. The urge comes to me every year or so, and I'm sort of lost in my own world in my room. Sorry all. I'll poke my head in every once and a while, but hopefully it's not as bad as it was last summer--I never left my room. :scared:

I'll be leaving to see my grandma in the hospital shortly, and I hear that they moved her out of ICU. :cheer2: It really is heart breaking to see her cry so much. She's in so much pain.

We did win our first game 14-6.

Well, back to programming... :)

- Josh
P.S. -- If anyone cares, this is my 300 post.

Cheri-
Congratulations that's great! Now if I could only get on my elliptical today for half an hour:rolleyes1

Game starts in less than an hour and I'm still at work. DH is going to kill me if I'm not home to watch the boys...

Oh! I almost forgot. We were in Vegas January of this year I guess we just missed you.

Robin-I'm confused, I thought both you and Judy had daughters. I guess not, huh? Did you PM Ron?

You're right, we do both have DD's, mine is 14 and her younger one is 13. Judy's 16 year old usually takes a friend to hang with as she is not a "joiner" like us. Her past two cruise mates do't want to miss school, so, we're looking for other high school juniors or seniors who are nearer her age and interests.

I can't imagine turning down a cruise stay IN school...what's wrong with today's youth?:confused3

The cheesecakes went over pretty well. I did a little variation on the plain NY cheesecake. I tried a rum/pecan topping. Everyone liked it so I'll file that recipe away.

Now its time to make ribs. Will the madness ever end?????

KATHY! See? I'm being good and posting  ! You can't whip me, oh no you can't!

The day started off badly as Guido was acting strange at about 7:30 am ... pacing around the bed (he sleeps in the middle. Yes, I know, a very bad habit I let him start 16 years ago and there's no stopping him now), then he literally fell on top of me, got up, fell again, and started SCREAMING. Scared the **** out of us! We both hopped up and tried to figure out what the heck was going on. He didn't move and couldn't lift his head. Well, I think ... I think ... that maybe he had another stroke. Now, understand that a stroke in dogs is not the same as in humans and that dogs will actually repair themselves from a stroke in a matter of a day or 2. So he's actually been pretty good since then. A little slow and dazed, but probably good as new tomorrow. Really, really weird, let me tell ya. Poor little thing!

Anyhoo, that's what's happening here ... what's happening in your neck of the woods? (reference Al Roker :rotfl: )

Hey! By the way ... I think we have our gift picked out for the gift exchange! :cool1: Do you?

How's Guido???? My husband's dog Heather did the same kinda thing - walked up, looked rather funny at me and fell over! Of course I was home alone at the time so grabbed her up, rushed off tot he vets(breaking all traffic laws of course) and eventually she did self repair. Hope your Guido does the same!

Looked at pirate shirts ont he same website as our nanahead tee shirts, too- some very CUTE shirts- may go with the tee shirt that just says " savvvvy?" can just hear the Jack tone of voice!

Each day we get closer, I get more and more breathless about our trip. Some guilt being spread about leaving my mom alone on Thanksgiving- I had planned to come down on Wednesday which is also my birthday and take a few days at the World first!- but tonight I have decided to go with my original plan and they will just have to live with it. OF couse that's after 2 large glasses of wine!~

Will check back tomorrow- couldn't see any ships on the webcam today... did anyone else?

TaTa for now
Judy

Oh my gosh. I've never had a dog do that, but I've never had one reach that age I guess! Our dog is only 8. I hope he's ok.

I'm actually at work finishing up the dvd slideshow I am doing to my brothers wedding next weekend. I was here earlier in the day too. I made Chris promise me NEVER to let me say I'd do this ever again. This is the 2nd time. It would be ok if I wasn't such a perfectionist.:surfweb:

Anyway we were at the mall earlier and we saw the Piratespirate: Crocs for the kids. It was tempting... but at $30 a pop... ah... no. Both boys feet are growing way too fast for that!! But they're really cool!

Chris got some pretty neat swim trunks at Dillards on the sale rack for under $10 apiece though!

Mutt-You'll be happy to know I don't have a pocketbook fettish. I'm too lazy to change purses for every outfit and event, so I just use two a year. One for Winter, one for Summer. Now, I have bougt the fake ones when on trips to NYC. You know the ones they arrest people for? Yep, those..........

Two a year:scared1: What about Fall...and Spring...and right after the holidays....and...and...

Sorry, I am absolutely addicted to shopping and I have to say bags are my weakness...along with bath suits oh and shoes...OK everything. My DH puts up with it because he has to have all the lastest electronics. See this is what happens when you have no kids...you spoil yourselves and than can never afford them:rolleyes1

Gosh, I hope Guido is OK. I remember when our first dog Pompom started having seizers...it was pretty terrifing the first time it happened, she would just fall over and roll on her side but then she would come out of it as if nothing happened. Dogs are so much stronger than we are:dogdance:

Okie, hang in there.

Since no one else has today I'll post a few pictures:

Have a good night everyone.

Posting wasn't too bad today considering it's a holiday weekend. Kathy is going to be so proud!!!!!!!!!!

Shell-Sorry to hear about Guido. I would FREAK if Nevada did that. I can empathize though about letting him sleep with you. Come to think of it, I let my DH start sleeping in the bed 11 years ago and I can't get him out either:lmao:

Well, we got to Busch Gardens, paid to park, crept along behind a gazillion other cars and when we finally realized they were parking us in the last lot, we turned around and bailed on the whole thing. It would be a lot like getting to WDW and having to wait in line for Spaceship Earth. If there's a line there, you might as well turn around and bail.............:sad2:

We went to Colonial Williamsburg and walked around there instead. Not too crowded. Great weather and The Wine and Cheese store was having a tasting:yay: We tried some sparkling sake YUMMY

Well, tomorrow is nephew's two year old birthday. Bought him some bathtub crayons and a pretend shaving set........My mom bought him drums:lmao:

Well, I'm rambling. 'Night

Good morning all,
It is so good to get up and read happy notes from my "adopted" family. Of course my family by birth think I am crazy " do you even KNOW these people?????" but yesterday was a hard day for me and I needed some Disfamily cheerfulness.
My "birth" family is giving me a hard time about being away for Thanksgiving...
lots of guilt which I wrestled with all night- plus the cancellation of the teen who was supposed to be traveling with us so DD now isn't sure she wants to come....
All decisions must be made my Thursday so I can get money back if I need to cancel anyone's reservation or do any changing. So.... keep those happy posts coming and I will try to get past all the negativity here- of course Robin(magicsgirl) will lead the positive thoughts parade here.... :hippie:
Will go get some coffee, read the paper and come back on line a bit later...:surfweb:
