11/24/01 TDS report

Got mine -- barely! I was the second to the last to buy this week's Pooh.
This store opened at 8:00 today. The mall doors were not unlocked until 7:30. But Sears was open, so three of us went in through Sears and headed for TDS.
There were already several people in line that managed to find a side door that was open.
A security guard told one of the line members that they were trespassing illegally and could be arrested. When Sears has their doors unlocked and letting people in the mall, I can't see how THAT could happen!
Most of the people at the front of the line were CM's who were let in by other mall employees. Busted, because one of the others standing in line complained to manager about it. So no more of that, I guess.
The manager also told a few of us linger-ers that this district has NONE of next week's pins. It is "an issue." She also added they are getting shipments every day now.
So what does anyone know about next Saturday's pins?

Was first in line this morning with my dh 2nd. We were getting sets for 2 of the regulkars at my store who are at WDW this weekend. Good thing we were there first and second because the Pooh pin was shorted and our store only recieved 6. Only the first 3 in line got Pooh pins. Sorry but they didn't tell us that only 6 pins were available.
Because of the Pin Piggies I won't reveal what time we all arrive. Don't want to tip out hand but will say it isn't too early. Noticed that a few have started coming down from Pembroke Pines saying their store is a zoo. None of the Miami stores seem bad now.

We were told last week & again yesterday that the store would open today at 9 a.m. I arrived about 7:15 a.m. & was #4 in line. The Store Manager & another CM arrived about 7:50 a.m. A guest ahead of me asked what time the store opens, & they said 9 a.m. Well, the guest said security said the mall opens at 8 a.m. & you have to open then. The CM called security & at 8 a.m. the store opened. There were about 15 people waiting to buy pins at 8 a.m. the store only received 12 Pooh pins. If anyone has an extra, please let me know. Some of the Saturday morning pin friends did not get one.

I don't even want to say what time people got to our DS this morning....let's just say it was way before the big hand was on the 12 and the little hand was on the 6!!!! I got there at 6:20 AM and was 14th in line!!!!!! We also had people that got in the mall early (before 6:00 AM) via an employee entrance with a Disney store CM, who was not working!!!!

My store had a decent number of everything.
Except they never got #75 (Merlin!)

My DH & I were #4 in line @9:30! And got the last Pooh!
Our store opened at 10am.

I have an extra of all pins for trade.
Need a Merlin!

Guess whose nail file opened the DS door after the mgr locked her keys in the store last night? Mine!!!
The store was to have opened at 9 but it was closer to 10 after all was done.
I got the 4 pins I wanted,Monsters Inc.,Bashful,Beauty & the Beast, & Pet Store.
Our store only got 3 Pooh pins.

Got to my DS around 7:15 expecting it to open at 8:00. WRONG!!! It opened at 9:00!! Got my number, #11, would have liked 13 but then I might not have gotten what I needed, and sat around talked and traded 'til 9:00. Went in everything was orderly and peaceful until a Asst. Manager tried to screw things up! She tried to split us in to 2 lines with no regard for our numbers! Fortunately everone was very adult about it and made sure the the right person was next when a register opened up. WAY TO GO WEST FARM PIN COLLECTORS!! All of that were waiting prior to opening got our pins. Then we went out side and traded some more! Wish I could do it again next week but "I gotta work".

Our store is opening at 8a from now through the holidays on the weekends, so we get to up our arrival time accordingly. I woke up earlier than expected, was at the mall (which wasn't open yet) by a little after 6a, and was 4th in line. Fortunately, I think everyone there got the pins they wanted. We were short Pooh, but some of the people at the front of the line didn't want Pooh, so those toward the end of the line had a chance at getting at least 1. There were definitely leftovers by the time I left.

Well, I'm glad that the West Farms pin people were orderly this weekend without me there. I told Dom that he should come to my mall for his early line day. We have a lot of fun waiting and trading. Dom, I know you have to work next Saturday morning and won't be able to join us early, but many of us will see you at 3:00 for our RFC get together.

I am happy to report that Syracuse NY also has a fantastic Saturday morning pin line going. I arrived a little before 7 and was fifth in line. The store did run short of Pooh and Merlin before all the line got them. It looked like the store had one full box of those, and two boxes of the others. Got to meet and trade before the store opened, then joined the Food Court people after we got our pins for a few more hours of talk and trading. It was great putting faces to names: Deb and Jack, Rick and Kathy, Chris and her power trader son Jared. A big thank you to the Carousel Mall crowd for making me feel so welcome.

Well, let's just say I arrived in front of my mall at approx 6:05am and I was #11. The first in line arrived at approx 5am!!! {yawn} That's entirely too early for me!!! Our store opened at 8am so we had lots of time to stand outside and chat. Security wouldn't open the doors until almost 7am (I think it was) 'cause they had trouble with the toy store shoppers being *ugly* the morning before. Hey, it wasn't us Disney folks! I don't know if we were short shipped on Pooh but I didn't get it. Got the other 7 pins though for a traveling friend.

Deb, Lana was not there yesterday morning. Of course, we were told as late as Friday evening that our store would open at 9 a.m. Come to find out the mall opened at 8 a.m., so the store had to open at 8 a.m. So this was one of the shorter waits yesterday - I only waited 45 minutes instead of the expected hour & 45 minutes!
