11/23/2011 ~ Thanksgiving on the Dream

Guess what everyone. Just wanted to share some good news. I don't want to post this on Facebook yet but I wanted to tell you guys.

Were having a baby!!!!! It came as a BIG SHOCK. Our DS is 7 years old (May Birthday). We tried for 4 years after having him with no luck so we gave up.

My DH is just starting to come around. He is so funny. My DS thinks this means he gets bunk beds. He told my Mom that she gets to keep the baby until it's old enough to sleep on the bottom bunk.

Just wanted to share. Now I have no idea how I'm going to pack for this trip.

Ok so we came camping for the holiday weekend and I decided to spend sometime on the Disboards. I wanted to see how others have cruised in the past while pregnant. Well I came across a thread that says Disney does not allow you to cruise at 24 weeks. I will be 23 weeks and I'm already having a few complications. My parents and husband don't want me on a boat after reading the post and Disney rules. I have sent an email to the travel agent but it looks like we may be changing our vacation to a land only. Has this ever happened to anyone before? Any tips or suggestions?

Unfortunatly, yes. I've been doing a lot of reading on the Disboards and they say DCL has a policy that you can not cruise once you are 24 weeks. They don't have a medical staff to handle pregnant women and I don't want to take any chances. I've also read several horror stories about women who cruised even before the 24 weeks and things happened.

I had to go to the Doctor earlier then my first scheduled appointment because I was having sharp pains in my left side. They found two cyst (nothing new to me but being pregnant is different). My feet are huge already and I've lost 10 pounds from being sick.

This was not planned and I have spent a lot of time and money getting ready for this trip (shirts, FE, FE gifts, cruise basket, autograph book, etc.)

However, I can't take any chances. If we stay at WDW I will fill more comfortable that I could get the medical attention I would need if something where to happen.

I'm waiting to talk to the travel agent tomorrow to see what our options are. This trip means so much to my DH and was meant to be our first family vacation with just the three of us. Now it's more important than ever for us to spend this time with our DS.

I'm hoping that I can move my money from the cruise to WDW and we can spend the time there so we can still have a magical vacation.

I'll let you guys know as soon as I talk to the Dr. and the travel agent.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that after talking with the travel agent and with my Doctor, we have decided to cancel our Disney Dream Cruise. If we cancel today we don't have to pay any penalty charges and we can move the money to WDW instead. We have decided to keep our flights and just stay at the CBR from Nov. 21 thru Nov. 27. This way if anything was to happen I would only be about 20 min away from a hospital and not in the middle on the ocean.

I'm working to make ADR's and plan out our days. Most of the good ADR's have already been taken since we are now 76 days away from the trip. We decided to do the Pirate Room with water view and the deluxe dinning plan. Since our DS did not know about the cruise he want be disappointed and maybe in a few years we can try again.

I will need someone to take over the Fish Extender Exchange!

If you are interesed please let me know. This was my first time doing anything like this and with this group being so small I don't think it will take a lot of work.

Also, for the little girls that's names had already been listed I have a personalized Minnie Bottlecap necklace for them and I would love to send it to them before the cruise. If you can PM me your address I'll get them in the mail.

Again, I'm sorry we are not going to be able to go on the cruise. It's a little disappointing - I just got all my magnets in the mail yesterday. But I'm really happy that I get to be a Mom again and do all the fun baby things again.

My DS and DH are so excited about the baby and we are looking forward to his/her arrival.

I will keep you guys updated on how things are going and I'm hoping you will let me stay on with the FB group. I have enjoyed getting to know everyone and I hope that everyone has a wonderful trip.
