Glad to hear you're doing so well!!!:flower3:
Just take it easy on Sunday. Cincinnati is not a big threat and our boys will do fine. No need for you to jump up and down and scream and throw your hands in the air. Watch the game quietly. :happytv: GO STILLERS!:cheer2:

Judy, DH says he will just spin his terrible towel with his left hand.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

That would be different than the last two years then. If starting in Parrot Cay, the character breakfast has been on Thursdays, with Animator's on Sunday, and Lumiere's on Monday.

I am fairly certain that my information is very reliable and know it is specific to our sailing. I even asked it be reverified since it was not making sense to me and what I posted was the verificaton that came today.

As you saw on the original post the Disney Legal Disclaimer that All things subject to change.....so for the super planners take it for what it is.

I belive that was the start in Parrot have CB on Thursday works for the Eastern or the PLA, APL, LAP rotations. i am not sure if that is true right now.....I know it was in the past.

Well, after giving the time for GC much consideration, something dawned on me. While I was on the DCL site looking at our excursions earlier, I noticed the time for our island tour. It's different than what I booked. Actually, our dune buggy excursion in Cozumel has changed as well. I'm assuming Disney has adjusted excursion times to match the changes in time for the itinerary?

I was scheduled for the dune buggy tour in Cozumel from 9:45-3:45. It's now 8:45-2:45. For Grand Cayman, I was scheduled for the island tour from 11:30-1:30. It's now 9:45-11:45. I like the new time because we might actually have time to do something else in GC as well. However, does DCL normally change things like that without checking with you first? If the whole time issue hadn't come up, I probably wouldn't even have noticed.:confused3

I'm still confused as to why it would benefit you to try to figure out your dining rotation when no one knows their time for sure. Am I missing something? Is there a trick to figuring out your time so that you know your rotation? If there is, fill me in pretty please.:goodvibes

Dont forget the stops on this trip are reversed from the norm...nomally GC is first. Thus the times are different to make up the distance in miles. As to GC, there is a great Friday's like restaurant that serves a mean conch fritter overlooking the harbor that we have been to a few times.

As to dining, I still think that what counts is who you eat with in terms of friends counts far more than the rotation, and yes we are part of Michelle's group.

And like most years, it will probably be a few people from this thread first in the parking lot to open up the place, though so long as you are in group 2, and I am confident we will be (group 1 is limited to cat 1-3), we should have no problems getting Palo at Rockin Bar D as they hold back a certain % of the seats to be disbursed on board.

Chuck:cool1:

They have changed the times though. I know for certain that my excursion times changed. I like the new times better anyway.:goodvibes

My point exactly...if you have late seating you are certain to start w/in a 30 minute window, ie between 8-830 and you will hit each restaurant twice (unless you are at Palo)...and, giving away a not so well kept secret, if they are serving something in one of the 3 restaurants, you have a good chance of getting it anyway if you ask your server.

Chuck:cool1:

Good morning everyone.

Heigh ho, heigh ho, it's off to work I go--gotta go birth some babies!!!

OH-our paperwork has been done for a month now.

Like Dori says in Nemo--instead of swimming, it's JUST KEEP WAITING, JUST KEEP WAITING.

HAVE A GOOD DAY

Lora

Holy Mackerel! :fish: You guys were all very chatty last night! I was watching the debate. I was suppose to go to a debate party that my party of choice was having at our local fire hall but I was too tired. So I spread out on the bed and watched it.
Lora- You are up early and posting too!
36 days until we sail and 35 for those of us going on Friday!:yay:

All this talk about dining has me hungry! I've decided not to sweat it. As long as the character breakfast isn't on Monday (Palo brunch day for us) or Cozumel day (I have an early date with a dolphin) I'll be fine. If it is, I'll figure something out once on board. All of my perseverating over this schedule is driving me crazy!

I was going to do our on line check in for the last month and still haven't done it. Maybe I'll try to get it done tonight.

All of my summer clothes I want to pack are in bags on my bedroom floor! I have to make decisions and cut back on the amount I'm taking but I need more time to decide.

My FE is officially done. It's going in the bag tonight after one more inspection to make sure all of the sequins are secure.

Have a great day everyone and I'll check back from work!

I think it is just for someone who wants to call and put in a request for their dinner rotation. Some people prefer certain restaurants on certain nights. Other want Character Breakfast on a certain day. We had one cruise where we had to have the head server arrange to change our Character Breakfast because of our Palo reservation.

I know on past Thanksgiving cruises I have been on I have to say you could spot Chuck and the Turkey Day Gang easily....they may win an award for most tables linked :) It was one big group entering the dining rooms....I think they made up an entire dining room. :rotfl: But this time Chuck/Lisa/and Mason are stuck with us :scared1: Last Halloween when we cruised all the DISmeeters with early dinner were linked and it was cool to watch them all enter Lumiere's while we were hunting down characters.....not sure why I just thought it looked cool.

Michelle,

I get it now. I didn't realize you could request your rotation. I always thought it had something to do with the ages of your kids, etc.

I just have to ask--what crew members do you dine with? I would think they would be so busy that they wouldn't be able to take time out to dine with customers. That's pretty cool though. I think I'll see if our past server can dine with us.:rotfl: He's pretty ornery though, so that might not be a good idea. The Beauchamp's (imsomaha) know several crew members as well and have some pretty good connections. I'm going to have her try to make sure we get the servers we want since we're dining together.

Well, it's off to work for me. Have a great day everyone!

Here is what I have confirmed for dinner/character breakfast for those that want to overplan.

8pm Rotation – LAAPLAP – Character Breakfast – Sunday 9:30am
8:15pm Rotation – APPLAPL – Character Breakfast – Thursday 9:45am
All Subject to Change

Of course the 8:30 one is PLLA..by process of elimination :)

So the character breakfast for the 8:30 rotation is Monday?

Correct, by process of elimantion it is Monday. CB are Sunday, Monday, and Thursday.

I am fairly certain that my information is very reliable and know it is specific to our sailing. I even asked it be reverified since it was not making sense to me and what I posted was the verificaton that came today.

Michelle--
I wanted to clarify that I wasn't implying your information was unreliable. The only thing I bring to this board is what I've experienced and read. If you found the information to be confusing and asked it to be reverified after your experience on umpteen cruises then you should understand how I was confused as well. I was simply stating that on the last two I've been on, one Eastern (3/06) and one Western (12/07) we started in Parrot Cay and our Character Breakfast was on Thursday.

I could care less where I eat or when as long as I get food and I'm not at home doing laundry. I haven't ever and won't ever stress over which rotation. If the character breakfast falls on my Palo brunch day (which it has before), we go to the CB with the kids and don't eat, then go to Palo. Why stress over something that everyone knows can change cruise to cruise, or even day to day.

I have never claimed to be an authority on DCL, since day one the schedule I have on the website has been labeled "tenative". People can take it for what it's worth. I appreciate your input and insight into things. If you find my posts irritating, misinforming, or plain out dumb there is an ignore button in the User CP at the top, then you won't even have to see them.

I come here, and started the group website for one reason, to meet people that we are cruising with and help people connect. We have met some really great friends through the DIS, the internet's largest and friendliest Disney community.

My FE is officially done. It's going in the bag tonight after one more inspection to make sure all of the sequins are secure.

One of the things I'm most excited about is seeing your FE!! I know simple minds, simple pleasures, but a mermaid FE with sequins, I'm just sure it will rival the most priceless piece of artwork. :)

Michelle is correct - we have had some pretty large dining links in the past including 2005 when they gave us an entire section of the restaurant - the 12 or so tables to the side of the main path as you walk in, but, i emphasize once again that if you are eating with friends, it does not matter if you are party of 4, 40 or 100+

Chuck:cool1:

I keep looking but still no room assignment. :confused3 I know it's gotta be coming soon right:rotfl2:
I also was curious as we made our flights via DCL and they have us taking a plane all day on Friday and we would have preferred to fly the red eye arriving on Friday morning. DU said I can't. Not to mention I am surprised that our our flight back we are on a different airlines than on the way there.
The dinning rota ion isn't much of a deal for us either. We will be happy for the surprise when we get there. I am going to guess they will have everyone in my party 5 total at one table and most likely know one else? I am kind of wanting to have more table mates to keep the conversation going. Anyone want to link up?????:dance3:

You can link with us, Susan and Steph each have a 5th grade son, and we all three have 13yo DDs. My DS16 is pretty harmless and your DD and him might get to know each other in the stack. We have 15 so I'm not sure how they'd arrange it. Two preggos at one table might really keep the servers hopping.

Have you started your 3-days a week yet? That sounds like a sweet work schedule.

For those w/a guarantee, like us, you should receive your room assignment between 14-30 days out from sailing date, though those numbers are an estimate and subject to Disney's whim.. when you receive your luggae tags, they should have your room number on them.

I know I've posted this already, but do make sure you let all of us know your room numbers when you get them. I finished up work on my FE gifts last night (thanks to DH;) ), and all I'm waiting on now is the final room numbers to finish everything up. I have the numbers that are posted on the group website but still need everyone that has a gty to let us know. Hopefully you'll know something soon.

Susan

We will make sure that an updated list is posted before the cruise that has all the room numbers..it just likely won't happen until a week or so before the cruise...that said, we just received our box from OTC that has stuff in multiples of 48 - so we will have plenty and likely plenty extra.

Susan, good point! Knowing me, I'll wait till the last minute and forget to print out the list. I'll have to follow someone else around!!

Stacie has done a FANTASTIC job with the group website and I am sure she will "make sure that an updated list is posted before the cruise"
