I guess I'm glad he is if they're from my yard, but couldn't he take the bodies to the woods?

You're welcome. I saw the website in the coupon section of the newspaper recently. I'm thinking about carving Lucifer.

I've heard cats like to give the bodies to their humans as gifts. My mom's cat brings her lizards and baby toads daily and seems very proud of herself. They're always still alive though. My mom bought an aquarium fish net so she can scoop them up and throw them back outside.

DH and DS's passports arrived today (11 days). I can't believe they got here so fast.

I'm so glad your passports arrived! Eleven days is very fast! Ours took about six weeks when we ordered them. We ordered ours a couple of years ago when they kept saying they would be required to cruise. Then, of course, they kept pushing the date back as to when they'd be required. I'm glad we went ahead and got them though. That's one less expense I have to worry about.

I applied for mine 3 days after they did because of the birth certificate situation. I hope I'll see mine sometime next week.

When is everyone taking their coin jars in to be cashed? I'm kinda anxious to know how much is in there. I can't decided if I should wait until the 1 month mark or wait until we at least get into Nov. What is everyone else's plan?

Sandy - I bet your passport gets to you by Friday at the latest, remember Monday is a holiday. I don't know if the post office is closed or not. I'm off and I work for our county.
I'm waiting until the week before the cruise to cash in my jar money. DH has been stealing from it and swears he will replace it! I started putting dollar bills in and it was just too easy for him to take them out and give them to DS for his lunch money. I know he owes it at least 15.00.
As soon as we get back from this one I have a huge water bottle all ready to go for the next trip. I've labeled it and I'll put it in front of the fireplace in the living room - in plain sight!
Just got back from Best Buy. I bought a copy of Sleeping Beauty. I'm going to make popcorn and curl up in bed and watch it.

What are all the kids dressing up as for Halloween? Hopefully we can find DS a frog costume. DD is will probably rent something from the costume shop, she wanted to go there this morning, but it didn't happen.

Mason is dressing up as an astronaut. We took him to the Kennedy Space Center and he really loved it!! He also did a report at school on Neil Armstrong and he wore his costume for the report.

Do any of you experienced Disney cruisers know the answer to this one?
The high school band program has recently started selling scrips. That's a program where you buy gift cards and you get a percent back. Disney is on the list! Can I pay my onboard account with these cards? I know it's only 2% back, but by the time I pay for excursions, photos, Palo, keepsakes, etc, it might be worth it --- only if I can pay with them.

Someone was reading my mind today! I was just thinking about my money jar and wondering when I should cash it in. I do have to say that I haven't been very good at putting all of my change in it. My DH has been terrible. We do have our jar almost all the way full though, so I am excited to see how much is in it. Every little bit counts!

We have a costume party to go to in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure what we'll all go as. I say pirates since we have them for the cruise, but my DS won't go for it. He'll probably just wear his usual--his dirt bike riding outfit/gear. Atleast it won't cost me any money. Last year we all went as cops and prisoners.

I'm not sure about the scrips. I've never heard of that program before. Hopefully someone on our cruise will know more about it.

Lisa - I think an astronaut costume sounds great! When I was very young I had a major crush on John Glenn! I had a scrapbook of newspaper clippings magazine articles, anything I could find.

Joan, I've never heard of scripts. Maybe you could call Disney and ask them about it. Is it specific as to where at Disney, like just at the stores?

I have never heard of Disney scrips either, but I do know that by using our credit card through Disney that we get Disney dollars that we then convert to a card that can be used on the ship.

Good morning!! There is a thread w/ all of the recent double dip navigators on the main dcl board. I don't know how to post the link here, but it's one of the most recent threads. One thing I noticed, however, was that there were no matinee stage shows on the sea days. I hope that changes back to the way it used to be. We enjoyed going to the shows as a break mid day w/Mason and being able to dress casually!!

Well....we are getting everything ready for the cruise....we ordered lots of loot for fish extenders, a personalized pillow case for Mason for the characters to sign and even a new personalized fish extender. For any of you who do not have personalized fish extenders, please make sure you tie the fe to the fish securely. Unfortunately, last Thanksgiving one of the families had their fe taken during the cruise.

People steal FE's? It's hard to imagine that something for children is stolen on a Disney ship. That's really low.
How do you guys tie them securely? Ours is not personalized. (I can't even describe what ours is!)

It would seem that if someone really wanted it, they could just break the ribbon that hangs the FE. I'll be anxious to hear what others have done. If someone takes my FE, they had better watch it! I'll be like a private investigator on the hunt!

I just came back from Wal-Mart. I actually bought our Halloween candy and treat bags! I'm usually stopping on my way home from work Halloween night and buying whatever is left. This is big for me, I think I'm making progress!

There have been issues w/stolen FE's in the past, especially for rooms near elevators (where there are lots of people going by or just plain hanging out). This happened to one family in our group last November. I would suggest using some wire or strong plastic to loop it securely to the fish so that it cannot be slipped off. Pathethic that this is necessary, though unfortunately a good idea.

Here I am popping in to say hi. I sure hope you all are having fun getting things ready. I know I am just so excited each morning thinking I am another day closer.
This is going to be our first time participating in the FE. I hadn't known about them or this board for our first cruise. I will grab a couple ties to secure ours to the Fish. I worked hard on making them, even if they aren't so pretty I am still proud of myself. I am still working on the gifts. As one of them is hand made and it takes for ever. It sounded like a good idea at the time.

We are dressing my grandson up in a couple different outfits for Halloween. Not that he is trick or treating as he is just a few weeks old but it's cute seeing him in them. I wanted to take him to the pumpkin patch and take his picture dressed up like one but will have to see. Our weather dropped 30 deg. in two days. Burrrrrr....

Still no cabin assingment. I hope to get on one time and see we went from 12 to well anything else.

I'll have to bring plastic things to secure mine as well. I still have to figure out what I'll use to hang it. Maybe a dowel and some ribbon.
My DH and I are kidnapping our 11 month old grandson and taking him to the pumpkin farm at 2:00 today. It's almost 80 here today. It's incredibly beautiful and is suppose to remain in the 70's and clear for several more days. Glad I'm off tomorrow!
I'm waiting for my upgrade too!!!! We're in an inside cat.11. Last cruise we were never in our cabin except to sleep so it really doesn't bother me. We're right beside the secret deck 7 veranda so if we need to step outside we can! More $ left for excursions and shopping!
Found a great costume today for DH. It's a giant Whoopee Cushion! He won't wear it though. He said it's inappropriate for him to wear that to an elementary school! I figured he would feel that way so I didn't buy it. I may go back tomorrow and get him the giant banana costume.

Hi All,

It's been a while since I've been here. I have so much to get done within the next few weeks my head is spinning. I pulled out all of my clothes and just brought up the suitcases. Hopefully by the end of the day everyone's clothes will be packed. Even though it's been beautiful I doubt we'll be wearing our shorts this week!

Just a little tip on tying up your FE..... don't forget to bring a pair of scissors to cut them down!!

Stacie - How many Dots are left?

Judy--I still had some left when DH got home, not very many but some. He finished them off so I didn't have too. I'm thinking about cracking the second box open this afternoon. I'm kind of torn, on the way home from the band thing last night we stopped at a grocery store/gas station and they had puppy chow or people chow (the crispix cereal dipped in chocolate and peanut butter with the powdered sugar on it). It's a tough call. I can't imagine why your DH doesn't want to be a giant whopee cushion. He won't wear Donald Duck to school?

Joan--I've not heard of Scripps but I would check into it. That would really add up fast.

Lisa--Thanks for the link to the navigators. I hope they have matinee shows too.

I'm not cashing in the change until right before the cruise, reduces the chances that it will get spent on something else. I don't think we have near as much as last time. Last time I would get cash each Friday that would last through the week, then the change would add up. This year I've been using my debit card way more and hardly ever have cash. We have a one gallon ziploc full then mybe 3/4 of another. DH is VERY naughty about stealing out of it for pop money.

We brought zip ties to secure the FE last time. I think you have to put one around the bracket and then one through that one and the FE.

It's 80 here today too and very windy. Rain is coming tomorrow then the return of normal fall weather.

Well it is 90 here w/T-storms, but that is normal...as to hanging the FE, it goes on the fish outside your cabin door which serves ordinarily to hold cards or notices much as a narrow napkin holder would work. Thus you just loop the FE over the fish and depending on the length of the string/wire serving as the handle, potentially loop it multiple times to make it tight...then you can add wire or plastic ties etc.
