That pool is scary!! I was hoping they replaced the stateroom carpet or at least shampooed it really good. On our last cruise DS wasn't walking yet and we were constantly washing his hands, knees, and the tops of his feet, because they were black from crawling. I'm sure everything will be looking spiffy when we get on.

Judy--I got your e-mail, I'll try to get things updated tomorrow.

I'm hoping to go to bed soon, I didn't sleep very good last night and today I cooked supper for 60 people for our Wednesday night church program. I'm exhausted.

My class reunion is the evening of Nov 29 (sorry, can't tell you which one but it has been a l-o-n-g time) :rolleyes1 I am trying to figure out the absolute earliest I can realistically try to get a flight out on Nov 29. Would I be nuts to try to get a flight out around 11:00 AM?

I wasn't planning on attending this reunion because I knew we would be on the cruise but I just lost a friend from high school this week and my other friends are begging me to come back. :sad1: If there is any way I can pull this off I am going to go for it but I am flying to Eastern Iowa so my flight choices are pretty limited and I'll probably have to take connecting flights and rent a car. There is no real easy way to get there quickly.

We were originally driving to Port Canaveral so DH and the girls can just continue home to NC without me. I also have to figure out how to get to the airport from the boat; for those of you flying, how are you getting to the airport?

Sure DH could drop me off at MCO but they are going to Kennedy Space Center on the 29th to have lunch with an astronaut so I don't want to inconvenience them.

I kind of have the feeling this will be one of those Mad Mad Mad World adventures...

Today my first grandson was born. Tristen Aiden 9/24/08 6.13lbs 19.5in. My daughter ended up having a csec after being in labor for 16 hours of labor his heart rate kept dropping and so they had no choice. They found he was sunny side up and the cord was being pinched laying across his shoulder.:cloud9:
I wanted to share a pictures, notice all that hair?

Good Morning!
Pixiedustmom - He's beautiful! What a head of hair! I know you're going to really enjoy him. Grandchildren are the best (we have a 10 month old grandson). Remember - no matter how hard you try you can't spoil a baby! My best to all of you and I hope your daughter is feeling better soon.

Cindy,
We book later flights out and we take DCL buses back to MCO (DH likes to shop in the airport so we allow extra time). You could probably make an early flight if you run! Have you priced a limo service? They could be waiting for you and you could tell them to step on it! Maybe call DCL and ask them what they recommend.

I wonder if DCL will make some kind of amends with those people sailing now. On our last cruise we had a problem and Tim wrote them a letter after we returned home. They sent us 4 park hopper passes. (Our cabin boy delivered our Champagne and strawberries from our vow renewal to the people next door then denied it. DCL assigned us a new cabin person and they never came nor cleaned our room again! They did send a new bottle to us and the next day our original bottle was outside the next door cabin empty! Those people drank it! They knew it wasn't for them because DCL puts a personalized label on it. Unless their names were Tim and Judy.....)

I really thought they'd change out the mattresses. We sailed on the Wonder Feb after the dry dock. Those mattresses were so much more comfortable! Please someone tell me they must be still changing them out over the next few weeks. Yes, after watching this unfold we'll never sail before or after a dry dock either. I'm shocked that they didn't get the pools ready in time for this short cruise for people. Have they put the new teak loungers in the adult pool area like the Wonder has? I was looking forward to those and was just thinking they must be doing this. It's too nice and simple of an upgrade for them not to do. :sad2:

11:00 am flight might be pushing it a bit with it being Thanksgiving weekend. We booked a 11:30 a.m. and plan to be in line to get off right at 7:30 a.m. We booked the DCL transfer just so they take care of our luggage check in so we can by-pass that line. Worth every penny to me in this situation. I'd just be a little nervous with it so early. I did a 10:45 flight home from the Wonder but it was Feb and the airport was pretty dead. We didn't have to wait long for the bus to pull out either.

Congrats! What a cutie. I hope your daughter is recovering nicely. I know it's a little hard after the first c-section.

I don't know where you are going in eastern Iowa but Allegiant flies into Cedar Rapids. The flight goes out of Sanford at 3:50PM FL time and lands and 5:45PM Iowa time. We are flying Allegiant home to DSM at 4:45PM. We are stopping at DTD before going to the airport, we have an 11-pass van that will have empty seats. I didn't know you were an Iowa girl. (Insert that annoying song that is the same name as a WDW children's ride here)

Congratulations Michele on being a new Grandma!

According to the press release, if they're not there yet they will be.

Quiet Cove, the serene pool retreat reserved for the enjoyment of adults, will undergo a makeover including upgrades to Cove Café, the pool and the deck area. Cove Café, the ship’s sophisticated coffee lounge, will incorporate a new seating area with plush, comfortable chairs providing the perfect venue to relax while sipping a cup of gourmet coffee. Meanwhile, the adult pool will be outfitted with soothing, cascading waterfalls from the two hot tubs. Teak deck and lounge chairs with plush cushions will line the pool, creating an inviting, stylish ambiance in line with the Vista Spa and Salon.

Kevin posted more pictures of the pools. They're absolutely disgusting.

Those pools do look kind of grosse. Not that this is any kind of excuse, but any time when you go in an mess with the piping on something so massive, all of the "sediment" buildup in the pipe gets distrupted and ends up getting flushed out. You would have thinked they would have flushed the pipes before people got onboard. All I care about is that they get it ALL flushed out before November 22.

Oh yes, born and raised in Iowa! I have been gone a while but I do love that place.:lovestruc

Shoeless Joe Jackson: Hey, is this heaven?
Ray Kinsella: No, it's Iowa.

Thank you! I will check into Allegiant, I am going to Dubuque but I know I will probably have to fly into CR or Quad Cities and drive. We have flown to Chicago before then drove to DBQ but that is too far to drive by myself.

They fly into Rockford too but the flight is later. We flew Allegiant last time, they are the only non-stop from DSM. They charge up the wazoo for luggage, seat assignments, and snacks. It looks like $299 for a base rate from Sanford to Cedar Rapids.

Bonnie--Are you sure that DCL will take care of your luggage with that early of a flight? We had a noon flight once and had to take our own luggage. The luggage goes in a seperate truck, not on the bus and they told us it wouldn't make it time. We had to wait in the check-in line and then go through security. I saw your post on the main board but I can't remember what the responses were.

My aunt works for Allegiant and if they had a flight to take us from Las Vegas to Fl I would love to use it. I would only have to pay $50 round trip per person. :cool1: So far they still do not have a flight for us. Oh well we are already set up via Disney. But the cost of the bags sucks.:sad2:

Good Morning! :surfweb:
DIS countdown says 56 days until the 22nd!

My DH and DS have already been warned only one suitcase and a carry on. I told them for the price of another bag they could buy new t-shirts and I can always throw a load of laundry in! DH always over packs and asks if I have room for some of his stuff!
He's submitting his time off requests to the principal today - keep your fingers crossed! I can't imagine anyone being that nasty as to deny a few days for a trip that's been planned for so long. He has a good relationship with her so I'm thinking it shouldn't be too much of a problem.:teacher:

I found our thread hiding on page 2. :sad2:

Not much going on here. It is still summer, temps in the high 70s.

It is homecoming tonight. DS had cross country this morning at 6:00 because there is no practice after school. He marches in band at the football game, then there is a dance until midnight. Tomorrow is band rehersal from 9-1:00 then he has to mow all of his lawns. I think he'll be ready for bed about 8:00 tomorrow night, if he makes it that long.

Anyone got big weekend plans?

Taking the dog to the groomer! That's what I have to look forward to - a clean smelling dog! :dance3: I may treat myself and get a haircut as well.
If I were your DS I'd drop over about noon tomorrow!
I wish we had your temps. We're in the upper 60's and I am wearing long sleeves and a jacket.

I'm doing my usual this weekend--homework for my master's classes.:sad1: Oh, yeah, did I mention that I'm also doing laundry, housework, and grocery shopping. It's fun to be me this weekend.:rotfl: It's the countdown that keeps me going now--58 more days until rest and relaxation!
