11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

Hi all

I was just looking at our FE list. I wanted to confirm the number of participants (to make sure my numbers are correct). I have 37 adults, and 31 children for a total of 68.

Pixidustmom, I see you have two adults and a teen list, but on the website it looks like you are traveling with more people. Am I totally confused, or are they not particpating?

Just want to make sure I have enough stuff. :0)

Our power is back! We still lost quite a bit of food from the fridge but at least we have TV and computer access.

There is a man with severe mental health issues in our neighborhood as I write this. There are police from 3 communities all around, on foot and in cruisers, 2 ambulances parked a few blocks away and a state police helicopter over head. This has been going on for over and hour. When our DS and his friend were walking home from the trolley a policeman stopped them and told them to call 911 if they saw him. Ian and friend came home and locked all the doors and windows. I just came back from dropping them off at the Pirates game and it is a hubbub of activity. I'll let you know the results! My guess is he's more a danger to himself than others.

You're life is just a treasure trove of excitement isn't it? Dentists, power outages, psychotic men. Stay safe!! Who needs a life when they have you for entertainment.

We got a lot of wind last night as well, and a few area schools are closed. Fortunately we didn't lose power and much to my DS's dismay, he did have school today.

That is correct. My friend and her son are not participating. Just the three in my cabin. Thanks for noticing though. I feel bad though I know my friend's son would love it. So I may have to do something for him. She is busy like me but being a single mom she has no time or the extra $$ to do it.

I love being able to read the things that happen around you. Lost of activity, but please be safe and keep your eyes and ears open.

It's dark so the copter is gone but still a heavy police presence. All windows and doors are locked. Our dog is big and has a very loud and deep bark. And he will bark at anything! As long as you don't know he's a Golden Retriever that will lead you to the jewelry and lick you to death, he could possibly frighten you. I feel a lot safer knowing he's around. I keep going on line to our 3 local TV stations and they have reported nothing about this. Maybe on tomorrow's morning news.

Thanks, Ladies for confirming my numbers. Pixi, I think I have extras that I can pack for your friend and her son. I started putting them together today. I'm still on the fence about getting one more thing... guess I still have time to decide.

When you come back, walk by my cabin, tip your head to one side, and squint. At that point, it will look like a thing of beauty. Judy, have you got any extra mermaid sequins that I could use to jazz it up? ;0) JK Hope they catch the guy in your neighborhood soon. You DO have a lot of excitment in your life. You should write a book!

OK Judy, Just exactly WHAT calendar are you using? Even with us leaving two days before the cruise, we are at 65 days today. 59 works for me but I don't think our frieds will be with us. If we went a week early, do you think DCL would notice? We could be stowaways, and when we get caught we could say, isn't this Thanksgiving week?

I have 3 more FE gifts to make and then I'll be done. Hopefully the last of the supplies will come today.

I have Kenna's quilt almost done. It is all together. I ran out of binding to finish the edge. My plan is to go thru my craft room today and find binding that will do, If not, I see a field trip to JoAnn's or Walmart.

OK, OK. You guys are brutal! I totally messed up! I referred to the DIS countdown for dates. I think when I looked this morning I looked down the wrong column. I was looking at someone else's date! Now I'm depressed. I really thought we had passed the 60 day mark. I would blame it on the vicodin but I crushed and tossed them 2 days ago! What a screw up.

Today is my Drs appointment. I've never asked for pixie dust but if anyone has extra lying around, you can toss it my way. It wouldn't hurt for everyone to cross their fingers and toes too.

Tell your MD that Disney makes you stronger and healthier. The fresh sea air is cleansing and good for you. You will be surrounded by happy positive people and that will assist with your happy well adjusted attitude. Hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies at MK are good for bone development. Walking will keep you strong and the sunshine is a good source of vitiman D and C. Swimming/water aerobics are great for muscle tone. If he has any questions or needs to consult with me for a second opinion, he can call me.

Just had to say that I like Judy's countdown clock better than mine.

I am, however, 2 weeks out at 5:00 p.m. today until we attend the F&W festival. I gotta have something to tide me over until this cruise.

I could not get anyone in my group to commit to jet skiing so it looks like I'm out. I'm not too overly worried because there will be a next time.


I still have no stateroom assignment. I hope that means a Cat 3 is in my future.

I have a supplier for lime green bracelets but we are waiting on one more vendor to see if they have a better price than $1 that the current vendor offers. We have youth size which is 7 inches and adult size 8 inches. I will let you know when I know which vendor we are using and how to get them. I am posting from my phone so I hope this makes sense.
