Hi There! Yes this will be our 5th Disney and 7th cruise overall. We booked this cruise last April while on board!! Thank you all for your warm welcomes. I am however a bit inexperienced with posting on boards, so I am not sure yet how to reply post to everyone. Hopefully I'll figure it out :badpc:

I have been lurking on and off for a few months. Now that we have passed the debate stage of taking this cruise and we are definitely committed, I thought it would be really nice to meet some fellow travelers. Below is my family!

Dh (Joe) 36, myself(Tia) 31, dd(Michaela) 9(turning 10 on board!!), ds(Joey) 4

Calling all 11 to 13 year olds!

Now that most kids are out of school, I thought it would be a good time to have the kids get to know each other before the cruise. If your 11-13 year old (Ocean Quest age) would like to have an email penpal and/or a Nintendo Wii friend, please PM me. My DS12.5 Brendan is interested...

I have to ask, what is a Nintendo Wii friend? We have a Wii, but I've never heard of that before. My ds is 10, but he'd love to have a Nintendo Wii friend, I'm sure! My DD is 13 and would like to email friends before the cruise.

You have to have your Wii connected to the internet, exchange Wii numbers with each other and then register the numbers. I'm pretty sure our DS's have emailed each other before. I'll have Brendan email your DS our Wii number. Then they can message each other through Wii and if they have certain games they can play together. Each game has a different number.

That is just cool! I didn't even know you could do that!

Hey Suzy Mouse does post 1022 remind you of something??

I don't know how to do the quote thing, remember only 90 posts to my name.

My family and I are going in the 11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys! and are very excited :) There will be 14 of us all together :) My family includes my DH, DS (7), and DS (5) and myself!

I have a question about the kids clubs. When we went on Disney Magic in 2005----my then 3 yr old was in the oceaneer's club while by then 5 year old was in the oceaneers lab. Have they changed it now to include 3-7 years old in the oceaneer's club? How do they seperate the 3-4 from the 5-7 year olds?

Thanks so much for your help with this! I can't wait to meet everyone in November :)

Welcome to and your family. Look forward to meeting you!

Hey MattsMom. I know You! You have finally stopped lurking and joined us. Yea! Have you posted that question on the main cruise forum? Someone who has just sailed may know the answer.

See ya soon.

Good question! I'm up for planning one. Never too soon to plan, I always say.

For those of you who have been on previous DCL cruises, where/when did you have your meets and do you think it was a good time/place?

We had a wine and cheese party on the deck 7 aft verandah. It was great for the adults, not so much for the kids.

We've done it on the promenade deck (3 or 4...it's been too long!!) There's the bar there and chairs. It was perfect! I think we met at 3:00 for 20 minutes or so. It was definitely a quiet place. Last time it was at the family pool...way too loud and if anyone walked near us, wearing lime green, it was automatically assumed that they were part of our group. Poor woman in a lime green bikini was harassed by one fellow dis'er. She had no idea what he was talking about!!!....ehm ehm.... :cool1:

No matter where and when it is...please try you best to be there. It definitely makes the trip more fun knowing more people.

I have to agree with Suzy Mouse, we definately shouldn't do it at the pool, it is way to noisy. I think the Promenade Lounge would be a good spot.

We did ours at the pool during our last cruise. It was good for the kids, but overall it was just too hectic to get to meet everyone. We have a total of 6 traveling; 2 DHs 2 DWs and one DS(7) and one DD(7) wherever we end up meeting, lets try and make sure its kid friendly.

Oh, by the way . . . .

:cool1: :woohoo: Today is the 5 month to go mark!!:woohoo: :cool1:

Yep, the sail-a-away party on deck. It was a bit crazy so I didn't get a chance to really meet folks.

Someone else had the Walt Suite and invited everyone that wanted to before the muster drill. Concierge put out a huge spread. It was very nice. The kids were playing in the other room and the adults chatted. Soooo, who is in the Walt suite? :rolleyes1
