For those who are praying for my situation from post #404, it looks as if option #1 is no longer available.

Still shooting for option #4, and well on track for getting it. Please keep those prayers going. Hopefully I'll have good news before too long.

GotDisney - I do believe God puts you where He wants you for His purposes. That being said, we do pray that a special duty is in His plan for you. We'd hate to see you miss this cruise. DD was wondering if you and your family plan to visit Six Flags near St. Louis while you are in the area. It might be a fun place to meet. AF5FAM will be visiting us but earlier in July. They will also be visiting other friends in the area, so I'm not sure how late in July they will still be here.

Wow I posted way back in February that we were booked on this cruise and haven't been back to this thread since!! My dh got me hooked playing WoW (any WoW players here?), and the disboards got put on the back burner, I came to investigate possible itineraries for the 2011/2012 arrival of the new ships, and thought I'd check in here.
We are Canadians who have been living in the U.S. for almost 8 years now, and are very looking forward to this cruise, as we don't actually celebrate Thanksgiving traditionally, since Canadian Thanksgiving is on Columbus Day weekend, and having no family here, it has pretty much been a non-eventful day for us (although I do love going to Cracker Barrel for dinner that day!!). So it should be fun to celebrate it with a full ship. We did the 2007 NYE cruise, and it was the funnest NYE we have ever had, nothing like celebrating it that way!
Anyway, to recap our family we have a dd who is 11 now and will therefore be 12 1/2 on the cruise, it is soooo looking forward to it. If any of you have daughters that will be around that age, pm me and maybe we can hook up.
No guarantees that I will answer quickly though, as I don't get to here too often!

I'm not 100% sure yet, but we're planning on doing the Thanksgiving 2008 cruise. It will be DH, DS (almost 13 then) and me, plus about 20 extended family members. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise, but our first holiday cruise. DS and DNephew (5.5 at cruise time) will only miss 2 days of school and it's less expensive than going during any of their other school vacations.

I just found this thread today so when I have time I'll go back and read it from the beginning.

Wow, 20+ family members - reunion? Welcome aboard and have fun reading the 30+ pages currently on this thread. Don't forget to also check out the Traveling Turkeys website.

School starts after Labor Day for our area and ends mid-June.

AF5FAM, will you be visiting cjckclan late July? My two older DDs are hoping to meet with their DD around then. Maybe all four girls can meet (along with us parents of course). We'll be visiting their grandparents who live near Alton the end of July.

At least for now we plan on being in St. Louis July 8-15(ish), so looks like we'll miss getting together with you. :sad1: Hopefully we'll have another opportunity before the cruise. You'll have a great time with CJCKClan, truth be told if I didn't love my husband so much I'd move to St. Louis and live in their basement!! :rotfl:

Best of luck with your tough decisions in the coming months. During my husband's 20+ years in the Air Force we did the remote, deployments and lots of TDY's so know how difficult it is to balance service against family. Our joke is that we never got the assignments we asked for, but always ended up where we were supposed to be!!

Blessings,
Lorie

DH has really got to get that basement finished!!! :scared1: ....just in case you get tired of "camping" in a rental. As you know....been there; done that; not much fun. :sad2:
DH is at the STL Cardinals game tonight so the basement sits dark again tonight.

Page 3!!!! BUMPITY BUMP BUMP!!!!!

DD is back home from camp, she was home maybe 2 hours when she said, "Ok, I've seen you guys, now I'm ready to go back to camp." :lmao: This is from the girl that sent me a letter telling me how horrible camp was.

Hope everyone is keeping cool.

Stacie ~ Did you get the PM I sent you about the web site?

Hello all! We are finally in MA...and FINALLY have our internet up and running!

The move went okay...that is if you overlook the fact that our moving truck broke down twice and we ended up in a hotel for 6 extra days!! (that includes our 2 dogs!!!)

Getting settled in slowly. I still can't figure out how we moved into a larger home and seem to have less space!

I haven't had a chance to back track and see what's been going on...hope everyone is well!popcorn::

Page 3???? Where is everyone?? A few weeks away and everyone disappears!!

HELLOOOOOO????

Hello, I am here. Glad to hear your move went relatively smooth. Good luck in your new home.

Hi! I'm here too! We've had a stressful last few days. We have had MAJOR flooding. Our entire farm has been under water. We've been lucky though because our home is okay. However, all of our crops are gone, our dairy barn was completely under water, and our shop with all of our tools and stuff was submerged in water. My DH had to actually use our jet ski to round up cows! It's been crazy!!! Hope everyone is well. We're getting things back together and breathing a sigh of relief that the rain has finally stopped.

disneypoor, y'all are in our prayers. It must have been a sight to see the new style of wrangling with the jet ski.;)

Congrats on the "smooth" move, tjeagle. Have fun unpacking all the boxes. We've been somewhat settled for four years now and we still have boxes that haven't been unpacked from three moves ago!:rotfl2:

We've finally begun the remodeling on our kitchen. We are all cramped downstairs for the time being. Our source of cooking is a microwave, a toaster oven, and the BBQ grill out back. All of us, plus 3 dogs, and Grandma & Grandpa are visiting - talk about being crowded! :crowded:

What are your plans for celebrating tomorrow?

We're starting off with the annual Montclair bike parade, then taking a canoe and a kayak out on the lake, BBQ'ing & swimming at the beach, and hopefully catching some wonderful fireworks (rained out last year).

Happy 4th! I was up at 0430 hrs this morning in order to get myself & DS to the high school by 0545. The band is marching in the St. Louis Fair parade at 1000 this morning. After that, we'll probably work in the basement and grill for dinner. I'd love a nap, but I don't see that happening. Time to head to St Louis; have a great day.
