Hi, Jackie! I also looked in to Adventures by Disney because we are going to Hawaii in March, and I wanted to compare prices. It was thousands of dollars more to do the Disney trip! I just couldn't justify that much more, so we opted not to do it. I'm sure booking any trip with Disney is pretty much guaranteeing a hassle free vacation, but for $3000 plus for Disney's trip, I'm going to take care of the hassles myself.:scared: Good luck deciding and let us know!

I know I am paying for the Disney name! I am actually going to sit down next week while the kids are at came and map out a similar trip to see if I can do it a lot cheaper. With all the traveling around...I think the convenience of them arranging the travel may be worth it! We shall see!!
;)
DH and I went to Hawaii 3 years ago....enjoy!!

I definitely agree that having Disney put the trip together sounds a heck of a lot easier!:thumbsup2 I would have loved to travel to Hawaii with Disney, but we're in sticker shock for our current Hawaii trip, so I could have never talked DH into going there with Disney.:sad2: However, I am pretty hopeful that maybe one of the new ships will go to Hawaii. If that happens, he's going with Disney rather he likes it or not.:rolleyes1 Have a great day!

Susan

Things have be so hectic and busy on this end - still don't have the kitchen finished.

I haven't had the chance to drop by and catch with everyone since July.

Joan, we loved meeting with Katelyn and you at the zoo. Please pass onto Katelyn that if Laura and Marie haven't emailed lately, they will soon. They've been limited to their computer time due to the chaos in the house has caused us to keep away as much as possible just to keep our sanity.

The kids are currently taking a break and watching the premiere of High School Musical 2 right now. They've got their night planned out with that, followed by Hannah Montana w/ the Jonas Brothers. Then, its off to bed because they have decided to host a yard sale in the morning.

We all agreed that money made from any yard sales until Nov 2008 will get split amongst the kids for spending money for the cruise. They've put a good effort into this and even recruited our friends and family figuring more items brings more potential customers.

Here's to the weather being nice tomorrow.

G'morning all!

We had a HSM2 sleepover here last night.....I of course had to watch it myself with the girls! Poor DH ended up watching too up in our room because DS wanted to watch it...but didn't want the girls to know he wanted too!!:rotfl:

Well our Disney Adventure trip was short lived! After really crunching the #s, I came to my senses! It is definitely something I want to plan for, but it will have to wait! :headache: I am going to get my Disney fix however! What started with an online offer from Disney Visa (the dates didn't work out for me when I called) got my wheels turning, so....we will be going to WDW Oct. 4th thru the 9th:mickeyjum

I have to admit...VERY SPONTANEOUS for me!! The rooms are dirt cheap and my cousin is a cast member who gets us in for free!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: (don't shoot me!!) So I am psyched! We are going to try to surprise the kids...we'll see if I can keep my mouth shut!! I had lent out my old (2003) DW Passporter so I am off today to get a new one!:cheer2: It is sortof sad how happy this all makes me! I know you all understand!:grouphug: My mom thinks I'm nuts!!

Thats all my excitment for today! What is going one with everyone?? Hope the kids have good luck with the yard sale GotDisney?!!!

That yard sale idea is a great one! I just wish I could convince my DH to stop throwing stuff out and save it up to sell. I did manage to get the last batch to consignment, so at least I was able to trade in for much needed baby clothes. Those little buggers grow so quick!

My DD went to a HSM2 sleepover last night. I stayed and watched too, because it was one of my good friends holding the sleepover. I loved the movie!

Jackie - Are you going to be able to do a MNSSHP while you're at WDW? We go every year and love it. We just did P&P last weekend for DD's 8th birthday and had a blast. The lines are so much shorter (and cooler) at those parties.

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't even thought of MNSSHP!! I called today and got tickets for Oct. 4th!! It fit perfectly into our plans! The CM I spoke to also told me you can enter at 4pm not 7pm as advertised! Any other tips for the night...since your a pro!!!;)

I'm so glad! You will really love it. You can dress up or not and still have a good time (though we love dressing up.) My big tip is to make sure you do the path at the back of ToonTown that leads to the back of Space Mountain. You get the most candy there. The parade and fireworks are great. If you want to see the parade, try to go early enough to see the headless horseman. That is always fun. If you don't care about the parades, take that time to hit the most popular rides. Though lines are rarely long because crowds are limited. If you plan to wear a costume, remember it's still pretty warm here at that time so plan accordingly. We're going on the 18th and can't wait!

Whoa--page 4. Just to let you know, Gymboree has their nautical line called Bon Voyage on sale now, up to 40% off. Perfect outfits for cruising. I think dd is going to have to change 3x a day to wear everything I plan on packing.

Hello everyone! I'm back to reality now--it's called work.:sad2: I sure do love my summers off! We're getting ready for a quick trip on the Wonder the end of September, so that's been where all of my attention has been lately. Is anyone else worried about the damage that hurricane Dean did to Costa Maya? From the things I've read on the internet, it sounds as if it will be mid-2008 before Costa Maya is up and going again. Do you think Disney will still plan to do this itinerary? I hope so because we are really looking forward to it!:goodvibes

Hope everyone is well! Take care!

Susan

I was wondering the same thing about Costa Maya. Are there any Costa Maya cruises this year? Where would they go instead?

We did a Carnival cruise to Costa Maya in July. I was really looking forward to going back. I hope they are able to rebuild so we can go on our Thanksgiving trip. The shopping area by the port was so neat. It had a swim up pool bar. Though, I'm not sure we'd use that much in November.

We may not go on the Thanksgiving cruise now. I didn't book it yet, but emailed All Seasons a few days ago to get a quote. I don't know if I can justify $1000 more so DS will miss less school. :confused3 I don't want him to miss any school, but it's just so much more expensive to go during a school break. We have extended family going with us and they can cruise anytime so it definitely wouldn't be fair for me to ask them to pay more because of my DS. I'm considering the 10/25/08 Costa Maya cruise. I believe DS will have one day off that week, he'd still miss 4 days of school though. I don't know what to do.

Hi Thanksgiving Double Dippers ! I'm sure everyone's busy now that school back in session - but just wanted to say hi to all! I'm excited to hear how this year's Thanksgiving cruise goes and see what everyone has to say. Anyone going this year as well as next year?

Happy Friday!
Megan

We are going this Nov. but not for Thanksgiving. 11/3-11/10.
We are anxious to read about this years Thanksgiving cruise too.

Hello all! Just wanted to bump us up from page 3!!:jumping3:

We are almost to the 12 month mark! It still seems so far away!!

DH and I are surprising the kids with a 5 day trip to WDW Oct. 3rd...they have NO idea! DS actually asked me last night when I thought we might go back to disney.....I felt alittle guilty telling him "I have no idea....". We plan to pick they up from school and tell them we are going to pick up someone from the airport...then tell them once we get to the airport!! I am so excited to tell them!!

Anyone else have any trips planned over Columbus Day???

We don't have Columbus day off down here. But we have the 19th off, so we're heading to WDW for MNSSHP on the 18th. I can't wait!

My friend who is going with us on the November cruise next year gets off the Wonder tomorrow. She's so lucky. I can't wait until it's our turn again!

No days off from school here until Nov 2. Cross country season is almost over for DS, marching band will be over at the end of October. Then he won't have to be gone from 7-6 every day.

We hit the 90 day mark this past Sunday for our December cruise. The excursion ressies are made so now we just patiently waiting. Is it wrong that I've started my packing list?

Hope everyone has a happy Friday! :)
