Sounds like our sons are alot alike. Frank is big into his computer. Besides his main classes he is in the IT academy for game and simulation. They do robotics.

I can't believe his IB teacher let them have some fun but she did. Grades are due today so she was giving them a break. Did they take any of your days away for the hurricane/tropical storm.
Lynn

We had one day and they have yet to decide if we are making it up....if we are I won't be in attendance. It is Monday Nov. 24.

Hey I used to teach IB. It is a tough program for kids that is for sure. do they do FIRST Robotics Competition?

Sandy-I loved your map.

The secret deck is at the end, back of the ship (aft). Go all the way aft. There's a white metal door that looks like you shouldn't go through it. Well, go on through! Open the door and TA DA! There it is! There are usually deck chairs and it's usually very quiet. Last cruise no one was ever there when we were.
Lora, you will just make a right out your door. It's just a few cabins away.
Shay - What cabin(s) are you guys in now?

We stayed the same, 7502. Our friends got moved to 7500. So it sounds like we're at the total opposite end from the secret deck.

You are on the other end! But that's ok, we'll get a drink cart and wheel you home after the party!:lmao: :drinking1 party: :dancer:

And Michelle with her 3 cabins and us on the other side of deck 5 are just below the secret deck. It is easy to get to.

I went to have lunch with DD today, while standing in the hall I heard a teacher ask her students if they thought they were making good choices. It made me giggle to myself.

We are midship on deck 7 so we will join the party too! Just got a shipment from the disney store - they had t-shirts on sale for $5. Can't wait to surprise my DD's with them. They thought they wouldn't have any character stuff to wear this time. Will give the youngest one hers on her birthday this Sunday! Been too busy planning the big 10! to chat! So excited that everyone got their room assigments! :woohoo:

Between Character premiere and Character Warehouse stores, those who live in Florida have a big advantage on getting inexpensive Disney merchandise.

You worried about wearing flip flops to Palo? Wait till you see what I have on!
If the temp is over 68, flip flops are on my feet!
DS is still insisting he will not dress for dinner in anything but casual. I'm done fighting him. DH says if he wanted to dress up on vacation he'd visit the Queen. And since I'm not wearing a tiara, I guess he's not dressing up either!
I hope we're not too embarrassing. Yinz all have permission to pretend you don't know us!

If you'd like, I can allow my DH to wear his "Who Cut the Cheese?" shirt with Mickey Mouse on it.:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: He wore that on the plane once on our trip to the world and the pilot gave him a thumbs up and said, "Nice shirt." I wouldn't let him wear it to the parks, but maybe Palo's would be an exception.

Actually Palo is pretty strict about its no jeans, no shorts and otherwise dress appropriately policy, just in case anyone reading this has not actually been there, but the chocolate soufle makes the trip worthwhile no matter what, or at least that is what my wife says since I dont eat that item.

We'll stomp three times short, then three times long to signal the party is starting. :cool1:

I never hit the Disney outlets. I know I should, but for some reason I just never make it there. I may make my own shirts though for the trip rather than force DH to wear another obnoxious Disney Hawaiian print shirt.

I'd put on just about anything they required as long as they let me into Palo's. The souffle is amazing, as is the filet, the brunch, and just about everything else we ate there.

Are you kindly trying to tell me my DH's shirt isn't an option?:lmao: We have always dressed up (rather nicely I might add) for Palo's, but I've seen everything from khakis to suits to tuxes while I've been there. I haven't seen people turned away for their dress attire, but I've read about it here on the DIS. Maybe I should make sure my DH doesn't pack that shirt for this trip.:rotfl2:

I've seen typically have seen khaki's with a dress shirt and sport jacket. Suits seem to dominate at dinner with khaki's and polo type shirt at brunch.

party: Here's a map to the party.

AWESOME!! GOING TO A PARTY!! :cloud9:

I'll have all of you know that on November 27,2005, at 8:00PM, sailing from Nassau, my DH and I went to Palo on the Wonder and we did wear flip flops! DH wore a Disney Hawaiian print shirt with Mickey in martini glasses and I wore a simple Disney tropical dress. No one said a word. Maybe because it was our vow renewal dinner but we did it anyway. We're not doing Palo dinner this trip. Linda and I are doing brunch however. YUM!

Susan - I want to see the t-shirt! It sounds primo!

Sandy - The map is classic!!!!! I love it. (I couldn't see it at work or I would have commented sooner.)

And I'm sure some horrified person came to the Dis to report how your resort casual wear ruined their trip to Palo's. ;) I am all for a dress code, but a relaxed cruise wear one. My ball gown is reserved strictly for PTO meetings. :snooty:

On three different occasions I have seen people turned away from Palo and one of the times I saw a huge fight between a husband and wife. All she wanted for her vacation was a nice dinner at Palo. He absolutely refused to put on a nice pair of pants let alone a tie.

I will say it all depends on the management. In 2005 our enitre group wore nice shorts outfits to Palo High Tea. Last March my dad and I had shorts on. Mine were partt of a pretty nice outfit and they said sorry you cannot come to high tea in anything that resembles shorts.

I for one agree I will wear whatever they tell me for the filet and souffle.

I do wish they would enforce the dining room dresscode a bit more. I just think if you want to wear jean shorts and a T-shirt then go to Topsiders.

This question was asked by another and no answer that I saw was given, but I want to know too. How do you look to see what rooms are available. I went to the site and acted like I was wanting to book something for our trip but it wont let me. I want to know if there are any connecting rooms available. :dance3:

Michele ~ It sounds like you're doing it right. I wonder why it won't let you. :confused3 What cat/deck are you looking for?
ETA: I just tried and it won't let me either.

I just read that someone cruising on the Magic on 11/15 got their documents today. :thumbsup2
