11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

They sat us all together, though I would not call it a section...in 2005 when we had 28 cabins linked thru Disboards, we had a whole section of the each restaurant. If you look at the floor plans, you can see that about 12 or so tables are to one side of the path from the entry. We had the whole section. Disney is very good about these things, especially if you handle it about a month or two before sailing.

If I read correctly that someone is staying at the Wilderness Lodge before the cruise, I have a suggestion. If you want to greatly shorten the walk to the boat dock for the boats to the parks, request a room on the left side of the hotel since the hotel essentially forms a "V" around the pool area. It can be a very long walk if you plan to use the boats and are coming from the far right side of the property.

In the cruises we've done, I've never known Disney to be anything but very accomodating. We cruised NCL throughout the Hawaiian Islands this past March, and the level of pride and service didn't come anywhere close to Disney. Ironically, our ship was called The Pride of America. We dubbed it The S$#T of America. Disney knows how to do things and do them well.

Temps in the 70's for the next 5 days!!! Could go to almost 80 on Sunday. Great pumpkin pickin' waether.

Speaking of going down early - Those of us going to MVMCP, when it gets closer to the date I will post what I'll be wearing that night. Yinz all can look for me in the crowd!! Ha!
I thought about shipping my FE stuff down but then I thought, we're allowed 1 suitcase, 1 carry on and 1 purse, right? Well my DH may be carrying a large man-purse!

DVC sent a beautiful hardcover book, a video with another book with pop-ups, a coloring book (for me!) and a book outlining DVC member discounts. DH loves the Contemporary (don't know why. I think it's because he can parasail right outside the door!) Well, he's terribly taken with the new property there and looked at the info like he's never done before! I hope this economy picks up! I need to strike while the iron is hot. I'm also afraid of airfare going sky high and not being able to fly down as often as I'd like to. Can't do anything until we stabilize.

My DH wanted to know first if any other guys would wear these, I said yes. Then he wanted to know if a bunch of people were going to come up to him and ask if he's from that Disney board. I told him to just tell them his wife is.

I'm assuming that's your DH in the videos on your posts? And he'll be embarrassed to wear a green bracelet? He looks like he enjoys having a good time! Tell him they up the fun factor!

I told my DH about the bracelets but not that I got him one. I'm not sure he'll go for it. It'll be in my bag just in case. He sometimes likes to pretend the DIS boards don't exsist, people asking questions about it might send him over the edge.

Judy--I saw a commerical for the Steelers vs Chargers game this weekend. Sounds like beautiful weather. We all wore Mickey Tie-Dyed shirts last year but I don't think I'll be able to convince DH and DS to do that again.

Sandy--Did they ever catch the kitty?

DS's band doesn't perform until 10:00 Saturday night. UGH! That's a long night to keep the little one happy. That puts us getting home some where around 11:30 if they play on time.

The cross country team is all shaving their heads today after practice for Gerritt. His treatments are continuing and he is running when able between them.

We are looking forward to our trip, it is unbelievable that it is next month already. Our kids are so excited, we are sailing without extended family so they are looking forward to meeting kids their own ages.

Maybe I can get him to wear it by telling him #4? I figured if he won't wear it, my friend going with me will. I told my DD about them and said it'd be a great way for her and her friend to find the other kids from the Dis.

I'm slowly getting little things ready for the cruise. I made my packing list the other day and keep adding to it as I think of things. Geez, no wonder it takes me so long to pack, that list is huge and still growing. I also ordered my Disney Visa reward card this morning.

Still can't track our passports.

Okay I got confirmation that they are doing the Western with the dinner in the same restaurant twice.

This is the one I know for sure
8:15pm seating will be as follows APPLAPL with character breakfast for that rotation is on the 3rd Sea Day at 9:45am (My note is that Sunday is Considered Sea Day 1)

The others are PLLAPLA and LAAPLAP but I do not know which is 8 and which is 8:30 for sure.

Also, just checked and most of the GTY rooms still are not assigned yet.
