11/5 - Tuesday

Headed for the Magic Kingdom today. Parked in Minnie row 37 and lot attendant directed us to walk to TTC rather than take tram. In 21 trips over 24 years, that had never happened to me. Its not a bad walk, but certainly not as short as taking the tram.

Started in Fantasyland - tea cups, Pooh, Peter Pan, Small World and Snow White. Lunch at Cosmic Ray's. Another example of Disney's recent stupidity - the chicken counter opens 1 hour later than the burger and sandwich counters. I asked the cashier why this is and she said its because it takes longer to cook the chicken. Seems to me that means they should start cooking the chicken earlier, but instead they just piss off the guests to save a few bucks.

After lunch, Buzz Lightyear and People Mover. I did Alien Encounter. Did it once when it first opened and wasn't impressed - still wasn't. Got FP for Space Mountain (Jen's first time) and rode train once around park to kill time.

Jen loved Space Mountain. Headed toward Frontierland for the other mountains. Checked Haunted Mansion, but the ghosts had just gone on strike and the ride was shut down. Apparently they were demanding life insurance. Splash FP time was 2 hours later. Big Thunder had 45 minute wait and no FP's so we decided we'd hit them a different day.

Snack time - Dole Whip for me, frozen Coke for wife and ice cream at the Plaza for daughter. Caught the 3:00 parade since we were there, then back to hotel.

Thought about taking a swim, but ominous clouds had moved in and started pouring 10 minutes later. Relaxed in room until dinner time. Got pizza from Flippers in Old Town. Great pizza if you ever are in the mood. Later, DD and I took a walk around hotel and through Old Town (had stopped raining by then).

Stay tuned for Day 5
Steve
