11/17/12 It's a Magical TEXAS Thanksgiving with the Mouse!

And I am so thrilled to see how active our group is! I don't think I introduced my family, so here goes: me, Teri, DH Mason, DS Rylan (8), DD Brynlea (6). We are from the Dallas area.
We were also part of the Magic Spring break cruise, but still haven't figured out to post pics on here.

We are definitely interested in doing the FE again! My kids loved it!

I know we are still over a year away, but it is never too early to start planning!

Oh, and my mom will also be traveling with us. She is huge Disney fan, and this is her first dcl cruise, so I am already so excited to watch her discover the "magic" of the Magic!

We are staying in a couple of the SPH rooms, which is a first, and it will be nice to be so close to the kids clubs.

I haven't looked at the prices lately, but my best friend priced it the other day and said the prices were double what she expected! High prices mean high demand...I hope that's a good sign toward keeping the Magic in Galveston, at least during the cooler seasons.

Any suggestions on places to stay in Galveston the night before the cruise?

I was considering going down to Galveston for the weekend, so I was looking at the hotels online today. I saw that the Hotel Galvez had a Park and Cruise special that includes free valet parking with a shuttle to and from the cruise terminal. I just wanted to pass this info on to everyone.

I wanted to let you all know that it looks like we will have enough for a group rate from the emails that I got. So next I PM those for the group rate in the next month or so and if we all then agree on a few hotels then I will work on getting the group rate.

Hi y'all! We are also booked on the Thanksgiving cruise out of Galveston, and I couldn't be more excited! We live only about 40 minutes from the port in Galveston, and I have been hoping for years that Disney would eventually decide to sail from Galveston. I booked this cruise the first day it was available!

Sailing with me will be my DH, DS (14), DD (12), DD (8) and DS (6).

Looks like we've got a lot of Texans onboard! I look forward to chatting with all of you over the next 15 months!

Ok, I am sorting through some emails and I can not find everyone due to some folks only sent me PM's here and not to my work. So could everyone that wants to be in the group hotel booking please email me again: travels4all2000@yahoo.com and how many rooms and how many people in each room.

I am starting to get quotes and will get a few different choices for you and let you all know as a group and then we can find out which one we all agree on and I will also let you know which one I think is the best deal for us all. but I have to send all of that info to you from my work due to the policy here so I need to make sure I have everyones emails and room count correct.

I'm wondering about the above balance due noted....shouldn't it be September 3, 2012 for the balance due?

I'm SO happy to see people had already started a thread on this cruise. I was so excited when Disney decided to come to Galveston....doesn't hurt that we're less than 30 min away from the port!

This will be our first Disney cruise! We have 2 connecting window rooms booked for me, my husband & our 3 kids. We're in Cat 9A on deck 7. My sister is also booked in a Verandah for herself, her husband & 2 kids.

I am Autumn, my DH Tracy and our DD are going to join in the fun! We are also bringing our neice too. The girls will be 8 & 9 in third grade at the time of the cruise. We live in League City just about 20 miles north of Galveston.

I am happy to answer any Galveston hotel questions for those that don't know the area, I went to college there and lived there for many years.

We took our daughter to Disneyworld last year as a suprise, and while wonderful, I feel she missed out on the anticipation and excitement of planning the trip, so no secrets this time...phew!

I have been on about 7 cruises but never Disney. My hubby has only been on one, Princess, and yawn...it was a bit boring as we were looking for a party and everyone was in bed!

We have a cat. 5C on the 6th floor. It has a small verandah.

I am thrilled to see so many local people on the cruise, now we just have to wait a year...

What is an FE exhange?

It's kinda like a group wide secret santa. We leave fish extenders hanging by our door and then you go around throughout the cruise leaving small or large gifts for everyone else...
