11/17/12 It's a Magical TEXAS Thanksgiving with the Mouse!

Glad you switched to our cruise. Our girls will have fun together! Are your's twins? I'll have my daughter (will be 8) and neice (will be 9).

Welcome aboard!

Thank you so much.

Thank you! Yes, our DDs are identical twins. They will turn 9 right before we head out on this cruise.

We just recently got hooked on cruising, as my DH wanted a break from Disney World. We went to Alaska this past summer & then the Caribbean last month - both with NCL. While we had a wonderful time on both cruises (and going with NCL back to Alaska next summer), the kids club left us wanting to try something different. So I'm really looking forward to trying out DCL. Who knows kids better than Disney?

Merry belated Christmas & Happy belated Hanukkah!

I was curious. Those of you that have cruised before, what is your favorite excursion/port so far?

We only have two cruises under our belt. Of those, I think for DH & I it would be whale watching in Juneau. For my DDs it would probably be the Dolphin Trainer program in Cozumel

Just think by the end of this weekend we will be in 2012 - that sounds so much closer to this cruise. :)

Anyone else waiting to see where the Wonder and Magic will be in the fall of 2013? I am. My DDs turn 10 in November 2013 and I'm hoping to book something special. I'm also looking at the Epic, the Breeze and the Allure. Just waiting to find out where everyone (cruise ships) will be that month.

I'm just hoping for more future cruises out of Galveston, myself. Maybe an Alaska or PC one day.0

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!

We're just back from our Dream Christmas cruise, so I guess its time to start planning this one. :lmao: I'm so happy to be sailing from Galveston!! No plane rides, no shlepping luggage through airports, just a little drive down to the beach. :thumbsup2

Its just me and dd, who will be 11 on this cruise. Its never too early to start looking for other kids for dd to hang with, especially now that she will have outgrown the kids clubs and will be a "tween".

I'm excited to be back on one of the "Classic" ships. The Dream was beautiful, and very high-tech, but it was just too big. I haven't been on the Magic yet, but the Wonder, her sister ship, was the perfect size. There is nothing quite like cruising. I wish I could live on a Disney ship! :lovestruc

We are also in the Houston area (Sugar Land), so we will be interested in a pre-cruise meet as well.

We may do the Fish Extenders. I have to see the list and see how many are participating. We did the FE's on the Dream, but there were too many people participating (70+) and it was just too overwhelming for me. I literally spent hours doing the FE on the ship - hours I could have spent at the spa, or by the pool. It was fun coming back to the cabin and finding the FE gifts others had left for us though. Some people were just so creative!

I just can't wait to get back on a Disney ship!

Happy New Year! :santa:

Fatfish, maybe we could link up our table at dinner. My niece will have just turned 12. It's me, my mom, my niece, her mother, and my son who will be three.

This will be our 2nd Disney Cruise. The first we drove all the way to Port Canaveral. This time I can be there in an hour... Is anyone else making the Disney door hangers and putting prizes in them for the kids and family? There is a name for them, but I forgot what it is at this time.:)

Hi Pughugs, we are in Houston as well. This is our first DCL cruise, and I love that we will be able to just drive down there too. :)

They are called fish extenders. I bought one a few years ago when I booked our first DCL cruise. . .due to a lay off scare, I ended up switching our trip to Walt Disney World instead to watch $. So it has not been used yet, I'm looking forward to it.

There's a FE group going. If you read earlier in the thread you should be able to find it.

I saw people talking about FE's, but I did not see anything about where/how to join the group. Is anyone organizing the FE group yet? Maybe I just missed it.

Thanks!

Do we have a cruise group name? And design? I ask as I've been making shirts for our coming up WDW trip & Alaska cruise.

Please take me off the FE list, we have switched to the spring break cruise. Thanks!

Lol, we looked at that cruise and instead decided to add a May 4 (cleared w/my sons private school, of course)
There is no one but me on the meets thread.

Is anyone thinking some of these will have GTY rooms pop closer to sail?
Not our sailing, but the non-holidays.
I'm even wondering about in state promos...maybe me and DH could get a sitter for one of those.

Hi, my name's Lori and I'm a cruise addict.

Believe it or not, we don't and I haven't had time to be disigning things for myself...
:confused3

Well, we still have plenty of time. I am clueless how to do designs, etc. But didn't mind putting in a request over there if someone had a name/theme, etc for our group. Amy Mickey made us some really cute ones for our Alaska cruise (since it is a non-Disney cruise). My DDs love the personalized tshirts.

I'm not the most creative person in the world, but being Thanksgiving, we could be the Texas Turkeys or something. . . have turkeys with Mickey ears. The line in your signature is awfully cute, Pirates, Mickey, and Turkeys, oh my. :)

LOL, I'm Deb and I'm a vacation addict. With 2012 pretty much booked up (WDW for Spring Break, Alaska summer, DCL Thanksgiving) I've been playing with 2013. Thinking WDW for my DDs 10th birthday & Aulani for my (# to scary to post) birthday. :)

Actually I do disign. If I ever get done with my requests on the cruise magnets and graphics I'll see if I can come up with something for the pirates and Mickey and turkeys cruise...
