Also - Do I need to post a couple of more times before I get Becky's message on the link to the worksheet?

I got your email and emailed the link to your gmail address. Check that one and then let me know if you didn't get it.

party:This has become something of a tradition on the past Disney Cruises we have been on. Thought I should give it a shout out in case anyone else was thinking about bringing their grass skirt! They even have a cool t-shirt!:cool1:
C

You know, if one person, just one person, shows up wearing a grass skirt, they may think he's really sick. And if two people do it, they may think they just like each other. And if three people do it! Can you imagine three people wearing grass skirts to the November 14, 2009 sail-away party and tropical night on DCL. They may think it's an organization! And can you imagine fifty people I said FIFTY people wearing grass skirts to the November 14, 2009 party and tropical night on DCL, Friends, they may think it's a MOVEMENT, and that's what it is: THE GRASS SKIRT FRATERNITY MOVEMENT! . . . and all you gotta do to join is wear a grass skirt to the November 14 sail-away party and tropical night on DCL, .........With feelin'.

OMG! We first time DIScruisers are starting to panic! Can't make ressies till day 75 and I'm afraid everything will be gone. YIKES! DW says she doesn't care if we get into Palo. She says it will all be new and special to us. But I want her to see/experience Palo. DW and DD-6 made our FE today, and we gathered some FE gifts from Ocean City, MD. We have a couple of surprises too.

How hard should I try for Palo ressies. How disappointed should we be if we can't get it this time?

I have to agree with you...panic is starting to set in! I am also going to have to log in early each night to go thru all the post since I'm lost reading just the most "recent" post. Not to mention need to make time to go to Michaels too!! :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:pirate:

Only 2+ pages a day? Come on people, I know we can do better :rolleyes1.

And it's not like I have alot to add, hence no red print (good idea BTW), so feel free to skip to the next post....

I feel a need to clarify the situation; there IS a reason the spreadsheet morphed into a workbook, then transformed into the current multi column hydra. Once again I shouldn't be spilling the beans, but the fact is the Mic offered us a $10 on-board credit for each column used! I'm shooting for a hundred of 'em, and will soon include controversial (but pertinent) subjects such as: Left handed or right?, Mickey; better looking w/ or without a hat?, your most embarassing moment, reasons the Red Sox stink, and many other useful tidbits. Please post your info in them all :rotfl2:.

The ID badges are great. It's so easy to start up conversations with strangers (well, less strange than me) when they have a similar name tag. THANK YOU!

And a big hello to our late comers and future add ons. You picked the right cruise, and have us to look forward to. Ah.... that didn't come out right, did it? Contrary to what you may have read about us (it's all lies anyway), we appear to be a great group ready to have some fun. Please be sure to get listed in the hydra and come check out the website.

I got a feeling Mickey will be calling me any day now, so I better get the check book handy. See ya...

I'm not going to have computer access for over a week - don't even want to think how far behind I'll be when I get back

Just sit down with a cup of coffee or a large glass of wine (your choice) and tell the family to leave you alone and enjoy getting caught up.

Boy, I think I'd just about DIE without computer access for a week.

Just hand the map to your wife. All will be well. :drive::rolleyes1

ETA: Please note that was said in a teasing manner. You know that I like you when I give you a lot of grief - just ask DH. :littleangel:

You're nicer than I am. In a PM I told him to just go where Belle says go and do what Belle says do and all will be fine. :rotfl2:

attach a zip tie. Push the zip tie up under your fish. This will help keep it from walking off in the middle of the night.

Great idea!!!

OMG!!! Mixing cruising and Alice's Restaurant!!!! Now this is something I might just HAVE to do!!!!!

I'm shooting for a hundred of 'em, and will soon include controversial (but pertinent) subjects such as: Left handed or right?, Mickey; better looking w/ or without a hat?, your most embarassing moment, reasons the Red Sox stink, and many other useful tidbits.

Y'all see what I have to deal with on a regular basis, right?

The ID badges are great. It's so easy to start up conversations with strangers (well, less strange than me) when they have a similar name tag. THANK YOU!

They'd have to be less strange than you, darling. When your level of strangeness approaches infinity as yours does...... well, let's just say you'd make a fine calculus example :hippie:

Hey there...

I just wanted to remind everyone (and let the new folks know) about a couple of games we're playing over on our private board.

The Acronym Game
This one's a lot of fun. Basically, you post a sentence about our cruise or our group or something like that. But (and here's the fun part) each word of your sentence must start with a letter of the last word of the previous poster's sentence and they must be in order. For instance... I posted something where the last word was "you". Then Michelle posted "Yes! Open umbrellas!" Then I had to make up a sentence where the first word started with a U, the next with an M, the next with a B and so forth.

(by the way, my last word was serenity...)

Totally fun!!!

The Alphabet Game
In this one you just post something that starts with the next letter of the alphabet. Michelle did "L" so I had "M". So I posted "Multitudes of new friends (have you seen the size of our group lately?)". Now someone needs to post something about our cruise or group that starts with an "N".

Hope to see y'all over at the private board playing our games. It's lots of fun!!!

I know whatcha mean. Thank goodness for the iPhone. I wonder how much internet access I should get on board. How much do you all do?

I was going to get some last time because of my website but I ended up totally relaxing and not doing any work whatsoever. But this year I'm really into Twitter and I really would love to tweet status and pics so my kid sister (and all my FB friends) can see it (and gnaw on their knuckles with envy - hey, I never said I was a nice person).

I'm going to have to check with Verizon and see how much data access is. Turns out only voice calls charged roaming when I was in SC. Wonder if it's similar when I'm in the various ports of call. One can only hope (and call and find out).

OK, I am officially lost, sorry:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Hi all-

I was thinking about this post last night. I wonder if we should try to move most of our conversations over to the private board now. It would help keep the different threads clearer - and with the speed we're flying through pages right now, that would be helpful to everyone! We do still need to stop by over here to make sure we don't miss any new partiers.

Just a thought!
Michelle

Wow! Miss a couple of days on here and you are looking at 6 or 8 pages of catching up... don't you people have anything better to do??? :rotfl2: Actually, now that my ressies are made, I've been slacking a bit in my DISboarding... I know... BAD RookieMouse :sad2:

In truth, I have been very busy at work lately, getting ready for courses starting in a week or so. Plus, I am doing the bachelor thing at home for a few weeks, as DW and the kids are visiting family and friends on the west coast. When she gets back, I will run the FE and SM ideas by her and we will make a decision.

Whoever was talking about the historical romance book exchange, that will be right up DW's alley. Now I can tell her she doesn't NEED to pack 20 pounds worth of books.

Hello all!

Working on cruise projects today and wondered if there would be any interest in a kids book exchange bag. Is it something you would use? Are your kids readers? :confused3

Cynthia

Both our kids are voracious readers... it is sometimes hard to get them to do their daily chores around the house because they have their noses stuck in a book. DS10 is big time into the "Warriors" series by Erin Hunter (as far as I can tell, it is a fiction series about clans of wild cats), while DD7 is into the usual for her age - Junie B. Jones, Magic Tree House and especially anything fairies :tinker:(Disney or otherwise). Again, anything that keeps us from having to lug a ton of books with us is a good thing in my mind.

And Cynthia, I love the lanyard idea. You did an awesome job on it. Yet another thing to run by DW when she gets back.

Time to go do some real work....

John

New Cruise Business:

Hello everyone,
:wizard:
I need one stateroom per deck to hang a message board on your door. This will be the go to point for people in case there are any changes or information we need to get to the group once we are all on board. Your room number and name will be listed on the inside of the front cover of the Mini-Navigator. I will provide the boards and you will get to keep them! They will have a watermark of our logo and your choice of disboard name or family name. You may get a phone call or message from one of us to update some information, but its more likely we will update it in person.

Thanks!
Cynthia

If you need one for deck 8, our door is empty and available.

Hi Ladies,
Unfortunately, my family and I will not be sailing on this Double Dip Cruise anymore. I just found out the date of my next knee surgery (#8!) and it is only 2 weeks before, so this cruise is not a possibility for us. I did however just book the 14 Night Transatlantic Cruise in April 2010 (so I am not feeling THAT badly about missing the Double Dip!)

Please take my name off the list of cruisers that are participating in the FE as I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone!

Take care & enjoy your Double Dip!

I'm so sorry to hear that (both your knee surgery and not being able to go on the cruise). I sure hope that your surgery goes well and that it will solve your problem! I removed your name from the workbook. pixiedust: to you for a great TA cruise!

I'll do it! I don't know what deck I'm on yet but if I end up being on one that doesn't have somebody I'll gladly do it. The whiteboards sound wonderful with our logo and all and I'll do whatever I need to do to get one of these!!!!

Bummer! I'm so sorry to hear that you'll not be double dipping with us, but I can certainly understand that you're okay with the idea of trading a TA for a DD. That's almost a woot right there!!! Sure, no CC, but many, many more sea days so it's a pretty great tradeoff!!!

Sorry to hear about your knee. Best of luck with it!

When we meet remind me to have you beat me upside the head and shoulders for not asking for help with the spreadsheet earlier. You're so quick and responsive and it makes my life sooooooo much easier. Thanks! I owe you a DoD or two for sure!!!! :worship:

Actually we do get one day on Castaway Cay! It is the 1st stop (on Sunday Aprill 11th)! (Plus I added two days on in Dublin after the ship docks in Barcelona!)

Thanks for the well wishes for my knee-- hopefully #8 will do the trick!!

Accepts DoD from all comers!:banana: Happy to help out. I'm just sitting at my computer working, so it's easy to pop in handle something. Plus, distract myself from work with Disney. Yup, Take One for the Team. That's me! :rotfl:

Deck 5, here, volunteering for duty

Sounds like a good idea. We always bring a bunch of books so we'd be happy to share. DD6 usually reads a lot, but she may be too distracted/over stimulated when she's onboard... Also, the lanyard looks great. I'll check with DH to see if we want to participate.

Chankanaab Park in Cozumel
Is anyone going to Chankanaab Park in Cozumel and not doing the Dolphins thing? DH wants to do a dive while DD and I are at the Dolphins Encounter. Aqua Adventures rents scuba equipment to certified divers and provides a divemaster to lead a dive at the cavern of la Quebrada cave for $40 US. Just wanted to see if I can find company for DH.
