We booked our airfare as well!:cheer2::cheer2:We got two direct flights out of Buffalo om SWA for $560.00US! We are paying $59 on the way down and $104 on the way back. I could not believe that the $59 air fare had sold out for the return flight within 20 minutes of the release!:scared1: Plus we had to book for leaving on the 9th as opposed to the 7th in order to get the cheap flight down so now we will only have five nights at WDW before the cruise.:confused3:confused3 oh well, such is life! Hey do you guys realize that six months today is CHRISTMAS!:scared1::scared1:

Yeah! We changed our Grand Cayman plans to the Rays, Reef and Rum Point Tour with the group. We are kind of concerned about going with our 3 year old though. It seems like kind of a full day. Our other option is to just go to Stingray City with Captain Marvin (2 1/2 hours instead of 5). I need some input on this from someone who has done the Rays, Reef and Rum Point tour before. What time do they actually get you back to the dock? I hate running late. Also, we plan to go to Nachi Cocom in Cozumel. Has anyone done this? If so, tell me all about it. Thanks!

We are worried about the excursions for our 3 yr old too. Nothing seems to fit into his age group. And as we all know a long day in the hot sun with a 3 1/2 yr old only means exhaustion and meltdowns. (NOT a pretty sight) I'm not excited about paying all that money to be miserable!
maybe we'll just stay on the boat?:scared1:

Oh yeah. Been there, done that with exhausted 3 yo's! :scared1:

According to the confirmation, we will be back at the dock about 2:15, which is in plenty of time for the 4 pm all aboard. I looked at the pictures of the 3 boats that they use for their tours. Each one has a covered area where you can sit. So you do have an option to keep your liitle one out of the sun while on the boat. There is plenty of shade at Rum Point as well. You can stay on the boat during both the Stingray City and the Reef Snorkel stops if you want to.

Does your DS still nap? If so, what time does he usually go down for his nap? How does he handle it if he misses or is late going down for his nap? Do you think that you could get him to nap for an hour or so on a lounger in the shade at Rum Point?

Did you look into the Turtle Farm tour? That sounds like it would be something a 3 yo would like.

Desi - definitely DON'T stay on the boat! There are so many great things to see and do in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. My son normally naps from 1:00pm till 4:00pm, but on our last cruise he would only sleep an hour or two and was fine. Maybe if we go on the same excursions the little boy-monsters could entertain each other. The whole reason DH even let me book this cruise was so he could get back to Stingray City. So far that has been the highlight of his LIFE (even tops our wedding - LOL). We also plan to go to Nachi Cocom in Cozumel and they have a pool and a beach to occupy the little ones. My niece spent the whole day picking up tiny frogs the last time she was there. From what I hear it is not crowded at all, but very nice. We plan to rent bikes one day on CC and just hang out at the beach on the other day. As long as DS has a bucket, shovel and some water, he is in heaven. This will be his 3rd seven day cruise in 11 months.

P.S. - not a big fan of turtles. They are cute to look at, but DS will want to touch them and they carry yucky diseases like salmonella. What can I say, I'm a nurse and I think about things like that (LOL). Don't they raise them for food or lotion or something?

Well, we'll probably stay on the boat at grand cayman and maybe do a dolphin excursion in cozumel. we're crazy disney, but who isn't if you're on disboards, huh? so we want to really do "disney" cruise (that's why we choose a double dip at cc) and everything it has to offer, and not the ports or excursions. So if you do decide to stay on boat, you won't be the only one.

Nachicocoom was wonderful when we went there! We took a taxi from right across the street from the dock - same guy was waiting for us when we came out 3 hours later. 3 hours was plenty for us adults - enough sun and sand, thank you, I want a shower and my air conditioned, sit down lunch.

It is possible to visit the turtle farm on Grand Cayman without a tour. In fact, they have opened a whole 'adventure park'. http://www.boatswainsbeach.ky/ This also can be accessed by taxi or public jitney for a few dollars, so no need to be tied to the schedule of a tour.

Happy day, all!

Hi All,
This is Di, NCMonkey's Aunt. This is my first post... had difficulties with first sing-on. I am glad to finally be able to post on this Dis boards!
Testing out my new Sig.

Hello, ya'll this is Debi again and my second post, I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the dis meeting, on sat. Kim, has been under the weather lately I can't even talk to her.
I can't decide on the excursion's I'm wanting. I know I'm going to do the bike ride at cc, and we are doing the ruins at Cozumel. who knows I might get Tristan to do something with me and not his mom. I'm afraid of the water but since I'm going to be 52 on the cruise I'm trying to get over the fear. I might do a water thing. but we'll see when it happens. :confused3
The time is going so fast. I'm so ready to get away. Kim and I are doing the fe's and secret mickey for the adults and I'm going to be needing a double header.:drinking1
If there is anyone who is doing anything by themselves and would like some company, give me a holler. Till the next time ya'll have a safe weekend.:hippie:

Guys, I am actually getting excited for you. Have not kept up with the thread as well anymore. Did anyone on the wait list get our 1st dinner? I sure hope that telling you here first helped. Those darn test....

I just wanted to come back to place the link here for the pillowcase information. I would rather keep it off the main thread until I get all of yours done or I will get swamped. :scared: So here is the link. It will save me from all of those PMs back and fourth....

My 2 northern neighbors.... just get the information to me and we will go from there. I am in countdown mode for you guys....

Those standard test. Maybe I should just tell the state, Mickey will test my kids.:lmao: After all both kids brought me straight A's home, isn't this enough of a test!:rolleyes1  Tink

Hi Everyone,

We are also booked on the Nov. 14, 2009 DC. It is me, my husband, and to children, son 13 and daughter 10.

Can someone tell me what the meet and greet is about? Any other information would be great.

This is our second disney cruise. Our first DC was May 2008.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys and share information.

Frances

Mind if I ask what rental company you used? I was also think a one way rental from airport to port and then a one way rental back to airport. We are thinking of going to Downtown Disney for the day since our flight back is not till 4:00.

Hi Di! Welcome to the boards! There'll be at least a 'singles' lunch and maybe a meet & greet, that you should attend - I went once, when on a 'girlfriends' trip. It was fun, although for this particular event, it was just me and the cruise staff.

I've requested first dining, but ta says they won't look at our cruise until about 60 days out to make the changes.

Does anyone know how to get a good deal on car rental. We will be flying in on Friday and staying somewhere on Cocoa Beach. Is there a drop off at port canaveral?

:confused3

Hello!!

We used Budget - I got a code from mousesavers and booked a one-way from the airport to the port ($35-ish), then booked a second one-way from the port to the airport ($90-ish).

Glad you're coming with us!!!

PS - we're from Texas, too!!!

We booked our Friday night hotel. We got the Marriott Orlando Airport for $63 after taxes through Priceline. We bid for a 3 1/2 star at $50, in case someone else wanted to try.

Also, we picked up some fun FE stuff at Hobby Lobby today - but you'll have to wait a couple months to learn more about that... :rotfl:

Avis also has a rental place in Cocoa Beach. National also, but it does not have a free shuttle. Also suggest you check Shirley's thread in the stickies at the top of the cruise line forum board.

:welcome: Di and Frances. Glad to have you aboard! Frances, you asked about the Saturday DISMeet. It will be in the Promenade Lounge starting at 2 pm. We'll have a chance to socialize and then get information on all the various DIS activities taking place throughout the week. At the end, we'll have time for a group picture.

I've been meandering through this thread and have seen a lot of great designs. So exactly how do you get from the picture on the thread to printing it out on magnetic paper? If I right click on the picture I have the option to save and/or print it. Is that how I do it?

I save it and it my pictures on my computer, then I print from there.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Moments ago, i paid it off....woohoo!!! Guess now all i have to do is wait for my travel kit, make my fe gifts, shop, plan, make lists, etc. Etc. Etc. :rotfl:

Today is our last day of school - the kids are anxious to start summer and all i can think about is the cruise....

Have a great day!!
Lisa

NICE!!! I just booked airfare at a much higher rate than we planned, but I just read that airline prices are expected to go even higher and we have supposedly seen the lowest rates already. Whatever! Now I just need to finish paying off the cruise and I will feel better about things...;)
