Has anyone made their hotel reservations yet??
We want to stay at the Raddison & have heard they fill up quick. Is it too soon to make them now?

We will be on the Magic the night before (geez I love saying that) but, if I wasn't and knew what I wanted to do, I would be making reservations now and then watching for deals to see if a better deal comes along. We have stayed there before and it is nice. We will be at Saratoga Springs before we sail this year though - at least we can walk over to DTD for some entertainment.

I get such a kick out of all this planning - don't you??

Yeah, we are doing it through Disney, it's at a place called Adventure Park. Since I don't zip I'll be sipping refreshing beverages from the beachfront bar while the boy zips & climbs to his hearts content. I'm sure I'll have to pay a separate admission, but it should still be a fun time. Please consider this as we'd love to have new friends to share it with.

Ye, we were considering that, sounds like fun. I was considering a little zipping myself, but sipping beachfront sounds better. Are you booking through Disney? I thought I read that in this massive thread-LOL. :thumbsup2

New to DisBoards. My family and I will be on 11/14 Western Cruise. It will be our first cruise ever. I look forward to reading through this thread and picking up everyone's tips. I'm used to being the one giving them over at disneyworldmoms.com. I was lucky enough to be on the 2008 WDW Moms Panel.

I will be traveling with my husband and four year old daughter.

Cheers - Michelle

:welcome::welcome:!!

I have a DD4 as well - have a read through the thread, there's lots going on but don't let it overwhelm you - we're a friendly bunch!! Not sure if you can send a PM to Hypermommy yet because you don't have enough posts but maybe she'll send you one...

We're not staying at WDW before the cruise - we're staying on at POFQ afterwards. We're staying at the MCO Hyatt the night before because my BIL & family aren't arriving until almost midnight.

:scared1::scared1: I need to book that Dolphin Swim - better bug BIL again to see if they're coming along but if not, I know that my fellow DDippers will be there!!

Cheers,
Lisa

:welcome: to the double-dippers and to the DIS boards!! We're so glad that you are joining us.

:disrocks: I have learned SO much from these boards and the people here are great.

Gail, I agree with you. I am a planner at heart and it makes the magic last that much longer. :wizard:

Hi Everyone,

Do we have a list of the kids ages? My daughter was wondering how many other 10 year old girls there would be on the Cruise.

Also, how many people are waitlisted for early Dining? I just check my Reservation today, and still no luck.

Hypermommy posted a list a few pages back - I'll try to find it.

As for the waitlisted dining, I'm sure you'll still get on - final payment isn't due yet and I'm sure that people will be dropping out - not me of course, but others!!

Cheers,
Lisa

I found that post, but it did not list the ages of the children, just the number. As of 5/13/09, there were 20 kids under 13. I think 6 were boys and 14 were girls.

There is a person thinking WHY is there a couple making reservations 5 months in advance?:confused3
That would be me, mr/ms reservation person. BECAUSE I want my room at the Raddison!! Without fear that they will all be gone. I'm a planner like that!:yay:

Hey there, hi there, ho there, everyone!!!!

Yep... I'm baaaaaaaackkkkkk (as everyone runs screaming away from me!)

I'm sorry it takes so long for me to get on here but this new boss of mine is really a pain in the butt. She's mad at me because this project is taking so very much longer than I'd estimated and she makes me work all the time! I can't even call in sick or something because it's like she *knows* (said in my best Jeff Dunham's Peanut voice).

I just sent information on the spreadsheet and site to xxcell, SJSH Mom and TinLizzy90. I'm sorry, guys, that's another thing I'm horrible with is remembering real names. I guess I'm just pretty worthless in a lot of areas, huh? :rotfl:

Okay.... lemme get caught up here.

realize we don't need them until the next trip. (You know, important things like the over-the-door shoe hanger and the FE gifts we've picked up!)

We have a suitcase up on a shelf that's full of pirate dressup stuff and FE stuff and over the door hangers and such. Every time I see the suitcase I smile!

Well, yes. Steak is one of the problems.

Oh noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can they mess with the steak!!!!! Don't they know good rare red meat is the only food worth eating????? Don't tell me they're going to do more *gag* vegetables! Or serve chicken and call it meat (it's not red so it's not meat!). Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

(yeah, you don't want to know what my cholesterol levels are....heck, I don't even want to know what they are which is why I never go get tested). :rotfl2:

Yes teenagers are Eating machines-LOL, My son devours anything he can get his hands on. Kills the food budget.

OMG!!!! It's incredible isn't it???????? Food budget????? We don't even want to know how much we spend at the grocery store. Hey...think maybe if we put the kids on a diet we could afford another cruise? I don't know if you could because you only have the one EM. But I'll bet if I gave the kids a minimum amount of food to keep them alive we could do another cruise!!!!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm............. that's not a half-bad thought.

We are doing the Royal swim. That 20% discount really helped, remember though I believe it ends the last day of May.

Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not going swimming with the dolphins (just not worth the $$ for me) but EM#2 is. He's the one that ought to be a vet when he grows up as much as he loves animals. I know we're going to have to get the video and such too!!!

Just wanted to introduce myself and say that I'm going to be cruising with you all. I booked this back in December of 2007 while I was on board...and I have been looking forward to it ever since! All hail the Double Dip! :rotfl2:

:welcome: I sent you info too. Sorry it took so long!!!

:welcome: The more the merrier!! Be sure to PM Hypermommy and she will give you the link to our website and the spread sheet that she is using to track info on all us double-dippers.

Y'all are very, very sweet not to tell the new folks how very, very long it takes to get anything outta me.

:bday: to my sweet DD who turns 8 today!! party:

:bday: I know I'm late but I hope she'll enjoy some more b'day wishes.

I can't remember...what time does the BBQ area open? Is that the only place to get food? What if kids need snack before Cookies open?

Ahhhhhh, now here's a lady after my own heart. Forget excursions... what time can we get food!!!!!

Ok, so I am set for the Dolphin Royal Swim. Any suggestions for my DS(16)?

It's not on Cozumel, but EM#1 has been talking about the Wild Side excursion on CC. It's for teens only and they get to bike, kayak and maybe snorkle.... I can't remember exactly what they do but he sure loved it! And if memory serves it was only like $35 which is not bad at all. In fact, he loved it so much that he's offered to pay for his brother to do it with him this time since EM#2 is 13 this time.

I know.... we're probably rotten parents but the kids are paying for their own excursions. We're doing the same itinerary as before (except for the extra darling day at CC!) almost because this way we wouldn't be tempted with other excursions. And we told them about it around Christmastime and I made them put Christmas money in savings accounts so they actually were able to pay for it. Even EM#2 paid for the Royal Dolphin Swim himself.

:scared1: That's right. Count 'em. 6 ships will be in port in Cozumel the day we visit.

Should be an excellent chance for me to get some "pretty ship - ugly ship" pictures!

I just love how the Magic wins the Battle of the Horns hands down!

Never heard it said like that but I LOVE it!!!!

We are near the back of the boat, so if you see a husky teenager salivating near the breakfast bar thats him-LOL. :dancer:

PS- I hope, I don't write too much on the boards, I don't want to be dubbed a Dis Forum spammer:guilty:

LOL!!! I dunno... it could maybe be one of mine. Particularly EM#1. I can't beLIEVE how tall that boy's gotten and he's filling out too. His Young Marines CO says he looks 18 and I think I agree.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:@ DisBoard spammer!!!!

I'm glad we booked the excursion already. I just got an email from dolphindiscovery and they want me to prepay my 4 year-olds entry into Chanakanab. I thought that was a bit odd...anyone else have an email?

I haven't received anything like that but I haven't checked that email account in a few days. I guess I should.

Uh-oh... we could be in trouble. MY Sarah turns 8 a month before the cruise. Mickey's boat could find itself under the control of a bunch of 8-year-old girls :scared1:

LOL! They can have it.... just leave me the chairs and the bar back in the adult section and we'll b e good to go.

Sorry its been awhile since we've been on the board. I haven't forgotten you all. Between work ,my son and school, and a new boyfriend (Ray). My free time is short. I needed to say :wave2:to you guys and let you know that I am not dead. Di thinks I don't want to go. But I really do, I just got a little depressed :sad1: Now that I am back to being me. The cruise is #1 on my to do list. I just need to work all the overtime that I can. We need spending money. Also I would like to :welcome: the new Families :disrocks:

Congrats on the new boyfriend!!! And I'm glad to hear I'm not the only unbelievably busy one out there.

He zags. </me ducking and running>

Actually, no... I should be nice to KC. He's taking me to WDW for the weekend today!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1: And the EMs are staying home with a friend of mine so it'll be just us 2. Y'all should check out his trip report he's been working on. I'll have to try to find it and put a link on here.

Ok, is anyone keeping track here?

I hadn't broken it down by the ages of the children, but I'll try to remember to do that and post it (not until next week though). If you need the info before then, just check the spreadsheet.

New to DisBoards. My family and I will be on 11/14 Western Cruise. It will be our first cruise ever.

Hey there!!!! Now that I've seen you here on the thread, feel free to send me a PM (or another IM :-) ) and I'll get you the info. I am very thankful that you (and everyone on here) understand why I'm so anal about this. I'm just trying to be careful with pictures of other people's kids because I know how I felt about it when my kids were little. Of course, anyone that kidnapped them would have brought them right back, but I was still a worrywart mom.

Hypermommy posted a list a few pages back - I'll try to find it.

There's a link to the latest spreadsheet info in my sig.

That would be me, mr/ms reservation person. BECAUSE I want my room at the Raddison!! Without fear that they will all be gone. I'm a planner like that!:yay:

I'm sure they're used to it...but maybe we should go ahead and book ours. Oh, Money Man, er, um, I mean King Charming............... Mickey wants more money for a friend of his.

Okay, I hope y'all understand but I gotta go.... time to get packed for the getaway weekend. I just can't wait!!! You should see my list of must dos for the weekend.....I'm not gonna sleep, that's all. EMH at MK tonight so we definitely have to do the Jungle Cruise at night and HM and POTC and Spectromagic and Peter Pan and fireworks and the TTA and... and.... and......

Denise - you and KC have an awesome time at WDW. Have a mickey bar for me please.

I have a consulting gig next week in TN, leaving Sunday and will be back on Friday so I may be invisable (like that doesn't happen when I am home) but will try to keep up.

We have no plans at this point for any activity in Cozumel - it may just be another sea day for us since there are so many ships in port. I wish I could remember how many there were the last time we were there but I am drawing a blank.

Take care and enjoy your weekend!

I have all my reservations!!! We are staying at The Residence Inn near the port, and Buena Vista Suites when we fly in earlier in the week. But I still check for better deals all the time!!!

We just booked the 11am Dolphin Royal Swim in Cozumel as well. There will be 4 of us, DD will be 8, DS will be 11. Sounds like we may have enough people to share transportation. Looking forward to the on-board cruise meet.

Have a good weekend all...

John

Cool. If I count correctly, we have 11 so far. :teacher: It will be fun to share this experience with other DISers.

After doing quite a bit of research, we are leaning towards doing the Rays, Reef, and Rum Point tour offered by Native Way Watersports. They get rave reviews here on the DISBoards and on Cruise Critic. This is a 5-hour tour from 9-2:15. You go to Stingray City, then snorkel the barrier reef, and finish off with lunch and playtime at Rum Point. They pick you up at the tender dock and guarantee that they will have you back to the dock before the last tender to the ship.

The cost is $62.50 per adult and $50 for children under 10. If we get a group of 10 or more, the cost is reduced $5 per person. They don't actually charge your credit card until the day of the tour and if the ship doesn't go to GC due to weather, etc, they won't charge you for the tour.

Is anyone else interested in doing this? I'd be happy to coordinate this if we can get a group of 10+ together. Click here for further details on the tour.

Sounds good, but my DD10, is a real beginner snorkeler, though we are gonna be working hard this summer to get her up to speed. What do you think?
