This was one great cruise. We were blessed with wonderful weather...clear blue skies, lots of sun, but not so much that we got sunburned. The ocean was calm and great for sailing. I think this was about the smoothest water we've ever sailed in. Overall...perfect conditions for our cruise.
Sunday: Very windy at Serenity Bay at
Castaway Cay. We spent the morning there, ate our BBQ lunch, and then moved to the family beach where the water was much clearer, and much less wind. Had to be back on board by 3pm.
Monday: Great sea day. Awesome views of Cuba as we passed.
Tuesday: PERFECT day at Grand Cayman. We spent it at the Royal Palms beach club on 7 mile beach.
Wednesday: PERFECT day in Cozumel. We did the "Clear Kayak and Snorkel" excursion.
Thusday: Another PERFECT sea day.
Friday: PERFECT day at Castaway Cay. Had to be back on boards at 5pm. Water temps were fine..a little cool, but most everyone was in the water at some point.
Great food....New friends....Wonderful Cruise.......Priceless... (ok, we did pay for it, that's for sure.)
Illness: Honestly, I didn't see many ill people on this cruise. Overhead two separate people say their children were sick and in the room. But saw no one with H1N1 or heard of it. No big outbreaks of Noro virus that I heard of. I've had that before on a
Disney cruise, and it was No Fun At All. So, we're home and very thankful for a Fabulous cruise, and relatively good health still in tact. DH does have a bit of bronchitis, but it is hardly slowing him down.
Captain Gus was the Captain. Cruise Director was Clayton. Got to watch a good amount of college and pro football on our stateroom flat screen tvs, in Diversions, and on the Big Ariel View Screen. All comedians and production shows (Twice Charmed and Disney Dreams) were good. Lots of character appearances, and the schedule is posted on a channel on the tv. Lots of opportunities for portraits. All Christmas decorations are up, and they are just putting the finishing touches on an Amazing!!!! Gingerbread House in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3. You can really smell it! It's yummy. They showed several different movies, but the biggest showing was for "A Christmas Carol in 3D" and they showed it in the Walt Disney Theatre. I liked the comfy new lounge chairs around the adult pool, the new flat screen tvs in our room, and new large clocks around the pools. The magic was immaculately clean and well kept in all areas.
This was our first cruise on the Magic in over 2 years, and we were very pleased. Hope this recap helps in your planning. Happy Sails!!!
