11/14/09 - Special Western - 2 CC stops PART2

Wooo hooo, finishing packing tonight, heading out tomorrow! My biggest wish is that our flights are semi on time (especially our first leg).
Can't wait!

Completely out of left field, but has anybody heard of the DCL/Castaway Cay vinylmations being released yet? They're supposed to be at/around the same time that Park #3 comes out (Next weekend) and would love to get my hands on them.

See you guys on the ship!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! We are very excited and this is the very first cruise for some so we haven't nailed down many specific plans. They are just overwhelmed and I don't think I can accurately explain how fantastic DCL is! We will meet up with you all when we can party:

We are staying in rooms 2538 and 2540. There's me, Meg, plus Allan, Nicole, Karly, Kevin and Jessy.

I can't believe I haven't finished packing!! Although we're pretty local so we won't head out to the Port until Saturday morning. Here's to sun, sand a drinks in our hands!

Okay People, we hit the road in 30 minutes for the 5 hour trip to Rochester and then the flight to Orlando.

Safe travels to those who are still left and we'll see you soon!!

Cheers,
Lisa

Welcome-you all are going to have a great time.

Don't worry-I'm not done packing either. I still have 8 more shirts to make up today. I have to pack for my 3 boys-4 if you count DH. The boys have soccer tonight-so would like to be done before they come home from school. Don't know if I'll be able to squeeze in the pedicure or not. We are leaving Saturday morning as well. Where are you driving from?

Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow. I can't believe it's here already. The last month really just flew by. DH is freaking out. He thought i was packing FE gifts into a suitcase, but I had to tell him I was planning on carrying them on. If I don't have a carry on large enough-I'll be packing them in a box and tie string around the box.

Everyone take care.

:surfweb: Hi All,
HELP! HELP! HELP!

Would someone Please, be so kind as to get me a bar code for the blue hoodie that has the DCL logo on it with a big flag on the back..
I need it for my grand daughter's christmas gift :santa:. Just PM me when you get it, it can wait until you get back home as not to add minutes to WIFI bill from ship..... Thank you in advance,,
I hope all of you great cruise and enjoy,
gg

I'm done packing, but DH hasn't started. I NEVER pack for him (too picky). We leave in 2.5 hours, too. Ugh! & YAY!!!

See you all tomorrow. :yay::woohoo::yay:

Today is the day!!! The girls still don't know about the cruise. I can't believe we kept it a secredt for 18 months! :woohoo:

See you all in just a few hours.:banana:

DW wanted to upgrade to Cat 3 at port, they were all gone. We went for the remaining Cat 2 instead. What a gorgeous room.

:sad2:The double dippers have to give up the ship:sad1:

Now we get to read some awesome trip reports!:woohoo:

Come on people... Laundry can wait:laundy:, lets see those reoprts:lmao:

(Can you tell who WASN'T on the ship!):goodvibes

but luckily for us, we're staying at POFQ for a couple of extra days and don't have to get back to reality until Wednesday.

Just wanted to say what a true pleasure it was sailing with such a great bunch of people. The girls were thrilled with all their terrific fish extender treasures.

Tara - my Secret Mickey - YOU ROCK!!! My gifts were amazing - I hope they make it all home in one piece - they are all truly unique.

Thanks for making this cruise so much fun - we booked on board for a 7 day Eastern 01/29/2011 - anyone want to join us?!???!!!!

Cheers,
Lisa & family

We're off the boat and safely ensconced at Wilderness Lodge. Haven't done anything at all but get moved in, groceries acquired, and a nap taken. Cirque tonight.

Wish i had seen that note requesting a bar code before we left, but haven't been on the boards.

At the last phone call Debi and Kim were coming into South Carolina. They should be home by midnight, 1 a.m. at the latest! They had a slight delay soon after getting off the boat. They got a flat tire, and upon changing, discovered the spare was also flat. Thankfully they were near a Wal-Mart and got the repair done quickly.
And for those continuing their vacation... have fun!
Hope everyone makes it home safely. :goodvibes

We spent the day at Kennedy Space Center, which was wonderful, and are now at the Fairfield by the airport. We're flying to NC tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with DH's family.

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed sailing with all of you. It made the cruise so much better! Thank you for all of the FE gifts - it was like getting extra love everyday. And a big thank you to Connie, travelbee, my SM. Your gifts were great!

Safe travels everyone.

:cloud9:

This was one great cruise. We were blessed with wonderful weather...clear blue skies, lots of sun, but not so much that we got sunburned. The ocean was calm and great for sailing. I think this was about the smoothest water we've ever sailed in. Overall...perfect conditions for our cruise. :goodvibes

Sunday: Very windy at Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay. We spent the morning there, ate our BBQ lunch, and then moved to the family beach where the water was much clearer, and much less wind. Had to be back on board by 3pm.

Monday: Great sea day. Awesome views of Cuba as we passed.

Tuesday: PERFECT day at Grand Cayman. We spent it at the Royal Palms beach club on 7 mile beach.

Wednesday: PERFECT day in Cozumel. We did the "Clear Kayak and Snorkel" excursion.

Thusday: Another PERFECT sea day.

Friday: PERFECT day at Castaway Cay. Had to be back on boards at 5pm. Water temps were fine..a little cool, but most everyone was in the water at some point.

Great food....New friends....Wonderful Cruise.......Priceless... (ok, we did pay for it, that's for sure.)

Illness: Honestly, I didn't see many ill people on this cruise. Overhead two separate people say their children were sick and in the room. But saw no one with H1N1 or heard of it. No big outbreaks of Noro virus that I heard of. I've had that before on a Disney cruise, and it was No Fun At All. So, we're home and very thankful for a Fabulous cruise, and relatively good health still in tact. DH does have a bit of bronchitis, but it is hardly slowing him down.

Captain Gus was the Captain. Cruise Director was Clayton. Got to watch a good amount of college and pro football on our stateroom flat screen tvs, in Diversions, and on the Big Ariel View Screen. All comedians and production shows (Twice Charmed and Disney Dreams) were good. Lots of character appearances, and the schedule is posted on a channel on the tv. Lots of opportunities for portraits. All Christmas decorations are up, and they are just putting the finishing touches on an Amazing!!!! Gingerbread House in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3. You can really smell it! It's yummy. They showed several different movies, but the biggest showing was for "A Christmas Carol in 3D" and they showed it in the Walt Disney Theatre. I liked the comfy new lounge chairs around the adult pool, the new flat screen tvs in our room, and new large clocks around the pools. The magic was immaculately clean and well kept in all areas.

This was our first cruise on the Magic in over 2 years, and we were very pleased. Hope this recap helps in your planning. Happy Sails!!! :grouphug:

What a trip. It was awesome to meet all of you that I was actually able to meet! Thank you sincerely for all the great FE gifts!

We had a few snaffus, but nothing to complain about after hearing what I heard at the airport. Did you all hear what happened in Cozumel? Apparently, a couple got married on Castaway Cay. They were then involved in a car crash in Cozumel, and the bride died. How horrifying!!

We booked a 5 day (another double dip) on the dream 8/16/11. We'll see if we keep it, but at least I have it to look forward to for now.

If anyone's going back to Cozumel anytime soon, please let me know. I may ask a HUGE favor. My son lost his name bracelet last night, and I'd love to try to replace it for him.

Thanks again. More reports from me later. Gotta get 3 kids to bed (one was sick all night last night). Hubby's already in bed sick. Here we go!

I had heard the same thing, apparently a jeep t-boned another one at about 60/70mph, 8 out of 9 people involved died.

I thought leaving my iPhone in my pocket when we went snorkeling at castaway cay (DOH!) was bad, but in perspective it's nothing.

I did not know this. Is there any way we can get additional information? I could not find anything on the internet. Did anyone know someone involved in this terrible accident? Were all parties from our cruise ship or another cruise ship? There were 7 cruise ships in port on Wednesday in Cozumel.
