11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

Just got back from a 7-night Mexican Rivera cruise on the Wonder and now I'm ready for the Dream.

I also booked 2 more cruises while onboard. Gotta love that 10% discount. I've got a 7-night Western Caribbean out of Galveston for late September 2012 and a December 2012 on the Fantasy.

Hi Jackie - We are for sure doing a B2B with the cruise before this one (11/3) if you want to update page 1.

Congrats on Hawaii, you deserve it after missing the Panama cruise. We have a hold on the 9/30 and 10/7/12 Pacific Coastal cruise with the secret verandah and I'm trying to nail down another couple as to which date.

You loving that secret verandah? :lmao:When I was on the phone with the CM booking Hawaii, I asked about those cabins but there were already gone. I told the CM that it was probably best because every time I booked one I ended up having to cancel that cruise. I didn't want to jinx Hawaii.

Yes, I loved our secret verandah and after 15 days it feels like home.:cloud9:

We (me, DH, DS (8), & DS (3)) are booked on this cruise. This is our first cruise ever and I can't wait! Just found these forums and am finding tons of useful tips.

Are there secret portholes and secret verandahs on the Dream? I did a secret porthole once on the Wonder, and it wasn't bad, good location on deck 5, but after cruising with the verandahs now for the my last couple of cruises I don't think I can do without it:)

There are some cabins on the Deam with 'obstructed' views, but none that have been downgraded a catagory on the 'rate card'! The cabins on the Magic and Wonder had their catagory level reduced after cruiser complaints about paying full price for an oceanview or verandah and having an obstructed view.

I'm guessing there may be some Dream/Fantasy changes after time, if enough people complain about the cabins. As a matter of fact, there is a pretty good collection of cabins that vary from the 'norm' in many catagories. I know there is a specific Cat 8 I'll have my eye on for future cruises.

ADDED: Joy, for a verandah lover keep 5150 and 5650 in mind for future Dream/Fantasy cruises. Deb, EllaEnchanted, has one for this cruise and it will be on the stateroom tour....extra large verandah!

Thanks! I have been reading them and finding out lots about the ship. How do you get involved with the fish finder stuff and the meet and greets?

I am going to WDW a week from today, woo-hoo! I was going to shop for some of my fish extender gifts. I was thinking of the disney shape little braclets for kids. Anyone have some good ideas for fish extender gifts from WDW that aren't extremely expensive? TIA

Welcome Lisa - the info for the FE Exchange is on page one, post #10! I don't think an official meet has been decided upon - probably closer to the date.

FE EXCHANGE UPDATE

Currently we have 14 cabins signed up - 20 adults and 16 children.

The cutoff to join in all the fun will be Sunday, September 25th - this is 6 weeks prior to sailing, to allow everyone enough time to prepare their gifts.

Each family is asked to provide at least one gift per cabin participating in the exchange. It is up to each cabin whether that is a gift for the cabin or a gift per person - either way is fine.

Delivery days will not be assigned - just please make sure to deliver your gifts by the last full day so everyone has time to pack their treasures.

If you would like to join the exchange, the information is listed on page one of this thread in post number 10. Please be sure to include all the requested information.

Hi! Had must-use DVC points so we just booked this cruise. :yay:

We're Andrea and Greg, 50s empty nesters from Northern Virginia. This will be our fifth Disney cruise (finally Gold!) and our 22nd cruise overall. Our last DCL cruise was the September 2010 Westbound Transatlantic on the Magic which was a total BLAST including a huge Champagne Girls party.

Looking forward to meeting all you DISers on this cruise.

Andrea

Hello Andrea, I lived in NoVA for 32 years!

Just sent a request into my TA to change me to late dining and the request ERAA dining rotation. I am pretty sure I can get late dining, will just have to see about the rotation. This will be my 6th cruise on DCL, unless something comes up between next week when I get off number 5 and Nov! Gold does not happen until you finish your 5th cruise, sorry.
