I just want to say something about this thread.

This exchange was started and done by wdwstar (Sue) and if she was doing it it would be the 10th year. So this is really the 2nd year for Mr Shiny if he has decided to take over a event that someone else has started and work hard at keeping it going for 8 years.

You know, I have read every post on this thread searching for the post that says Mr Shiny started the DVC tree exchange 10 years ago and I just can't seem to find it

WOW...I thought they worked together last year. I am thankful that someone was willing to take on a thankless job that brings so much happiness to people! Everything changes; some for the better, some for the worse...the process will normally evolve each year...like all things.

Nope, if anyone said I started this, then it wasn't me! My involvement is limited to 2006 (when I shared magicalmcwho's tree at VWL Dec. 19th - 23rd before passing it on to Granny Dec. 23rd - 30th) and then last year when I worked with wdwstar and then this year when I started things up.

Really, anyone is welcome to help or do the whole thing! I'm just trying to help get trees to people.

It looks like we have a great group so far and can't wait until October when we start figuring out what goes where!

Hi Mr. Shiny thanks for doing this and for taking the time to reply to my post about my upcoming trip. Still haven't worked things out with RCI but will be at SSR with at least my parents even if we are in a Studio. Will be a SSR from 12-21 to 12-30. This will be our first time at WDW on Christmas Day.

I've have been one of the lucky ones who has enjoyed the use of the trees over the years. I can't even imagine the time and effort that goes into organizing all this and am extremely thankful for all the work.

I'd prefer to have a tree while at SSR but will be happy with having it at either resort.

OK, list is updated, so let me know if you do not have the link. NHBaerz, it looks like I still need your detailed information.

As a reminder, I'll keep the list open until October 26, 2012.

After then, I'll figure out who gets and gives which trees. If people have multiple resorts, I will generally give them a tree only at one resort unless the second one fills a gap at another resort.

If dates overlap and there aren't multiple trees at a given resort, I'll try to split the sharing as best I can. I asked for children's ages this year because sometimes I just needd a tie breaker (especially around Christmas itself!)

I do try to keep Christmas Eve and Christmas together, so no one has to take a tree down on Christmas!

So hang tight and let me know of any changes. When I start splitting up the trees, I'll see where it makes sense for additional donors. So if you offereed to donate or are thinkign about it, i'll be contacting you in October.
