I hope this review is taken in the spirit in which it is intended. We are generally not big complainers, and despite the details I am about to divulge, we quite enjoyed our meal and experience. We LIKED Le Cellier. We just think that the whole experience was funny and would make a funny review. We love experiences that give us something to remember!

We arrived for our ADR about 10 minutes early. We checked in and sat outside to wait. It was a beautiful night (Sunday 9/30/07). We waited maybe 20 minutes, which was fine as we were having fun people watching.

We were seated and our server came over. She was very sweet. She took our drink orders (diet coke for dh, Labbatts Blue Light for me). She came back a few minutes later with a diet coke for dh and a coke for me. It took me a second to realize that was wrong (lol), because if I wasn't drinking booze, she would have had the order right (I hate diet soda). Our server looked confused. She then checked her pad and said, "Yes, you ordered a beer. It is right here." She ran off to get that for me.

I ordered the duck appy, and DH ordered the mussels. Both were excellent. Last month I had the duck two ways when I went with my son, and I have to say I enjoyed that more than the duck confit (just more flavors since it was 2 styles). But, everything was great.

For entrees, dh ordered the mushroom filet (because I told him you all said it was great!), and I ordered the maple filet with the sauce on the side. I had the same thing last month, and I was SO happy I got the sauce on the side. The sauce was nothing special in my opinion, so I was glad my steak wasn't smothered in it, but the steak itself was delicious.

So, the steaks come out, and the runner tried to give us both mushroom filets. I explained I had the maple, with the sauce on the side. The runner looked confused. She asked if I was sure. I told her I was indeed.

Our waitress checked back and apologized, and she said she would get the maple right out. I reminded her sauce on the side (and I felt like Sally in "When Harry Met Sally.") She said, "Of course."

The runner came out with the steak, and it was covered in the sauce. Before the runner left, I said, "Oh. I'm sorry. I wanted the sauce on the side."

She said (lol), "Ok, I'll go get some..." and ran off.

I looked at DH and he almost spit out his soda he was laughing so hard. I was like, "Was I that unclear?"

So, when she came back with MORE sauce, I explained that I actually wanted no sauce ON the steak, just some on the side. She looked confused.

Our waitress was nearby, and she said she would take care of it.

In just a minute, another (plain) steak arrived. The waitress said the runner just grabbed the wrong one. It was delicious!

OK, so we were stuffed. Our waitress came over with 2 complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary! What a nice touch.

She gave dh his, and as she was giving me mine, her arm hit it and she spilled it all over me and the table. All we could do was laugh. She looked mortified. And, of course, apologized a ton and ran off to get more.

I waitressed my way through college, and I actually dropped a bottle of ketchup ON MY BOSS'S SHOES once, so how could I be mad? I still laugh when I see him around town. He usually runs the other way when he sees me!

She came back with a kir royale for me (and I had read about that drink here on the dis, so I was excited!) - and it was delicious!!!

We then asked for the chocolate moose for our dessert, with a chocolate cake to go. She brought us the cake with the moose boxed up. :lmao:

We looked at each other, toasted to a great 10 years, and giggled our way back to AKL! We ate the moose for breakfast the next day.

It was a WONDERFUL meal. I think a lot of these reviews have to do with your frame of mind. We could complain and say everything was wrong, but we were having fun. And, they were trying, but due to some random issues, stuff just went wrong. We will definately be back. :goodvibes

I have to tell you that I love your attitude about the whole episode. I was laughing so hard I cried when I read she even mixed up the desserts!! You have to feel sorry for the poor girl. I think we all have had days like this!!!

P.S. Happy Anniversary!!!

It's so nice to read a happy review! You sound like great guests :goodvibes

If I host a dinner party, you'd be the perfect people to invite, as I'm a bit accident prone;)

Thanks for sharing...I laughed right along with you.
Happy Anniversary.

Happy Anniversary:)

I love the attitude that you adopted for your meal. At least the food was good.

Happy Anniversary! Isn't it wonderful that you will never forget this anny because of your Comedy of Errors?

I hope you have many, many more happy years together!

That's the Disney spirit!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! Congrats to the two of you! :)

You sound like a great couple. It is being able to laugh together rather than complain and criticize everything that makes life fun.

Happy anniversary, it was one to remember and laugh about for years!

We would have responded in the same way....you know this review would be totally different for the "glass half empty" people!

That is why I take each review w/ a grain of salt. I have had 1 or 2 meals in my LIFE that I have considered poor. Some better than others, sure; some wait staff better than others, sure. I expect we will be overall pleased w/ our meals in the World.!

Glad your anniversary was so great! (we had a similar comedy of errors the other night when DH decided to be sweet & help me out by making dinner...you wouldn't think bacon, eggs & toast would cause problems....:confused3 :rotfl: )

:wizard: I loved this review...:rotfl:

If more people had an attitude like yours we would all see less of those "not-so-Disney" moments we all witness from time to time...

It sounds like you had a great time dispite some honest mistakes...

Great job and Congratulations on 10 years of wedded bliss!!:cloud9:
