10th Anniversary Celebration ~ Any ideas?

They had told me once we had checked in that they would then put the stuff in the room, however we checked in and when we arrived at the room, there was nothing in there. I had to speak to the front desk and they didn't know anything about anything to be put in the room. It did get resolved and when we returned from our dinner at the 1900 park fare that evening, everything was in our room. It wasn't any biggie. I just wanted it to kind of be a surprise and when we arrived and the room was empty, I was kind of disappointed but it was all ok when I saw them after dinner. I just wanted to make sure we were getting what we had paid for. As far as the chocolate Mickey, I personally don't think it is edible. Just for looks :) They glue it like down to the plate somehow and like 1 piece on the top fell off and hubby ate a bite but the whole figure is pretty hard. It to us was more of a looks type of add on to the strawberries to top everything off :) Made a nice presentation and the tuxedo strawberries were divine. Big juicy strawberries covered in white and chocolate-YUMMMMMMMMMY!

Sorry the one poster didn't enjoy CRT. It was right up there with 1900 Park Fare for food, character interaction.

The first time it was only me and my 4 yo daughter. Last seating of the day. We were served cold food (and did ask for new food that was hot and was never given anything). Not even refills on our drinks. We were rushed through the meal. I loved the experience of eating inside the castle. It's gorgeous!

We rebooked again last Summer thinking it was a glitch. I had called from home months ahead and ordered the chocolate slipper. When we arrived they knew nothing of it. (I had called them with the direct number too, just like I was supposed to!) Not only that, we paid for our meal (all 5 of us this time) at the time of making the ADR. Had the CC bill with me and everything! (I keep good records!) It took forever to get it straight! The slipper came and it was very nice. The food again, was not very good, and this time we were the first seating of the day!

I love the restaurant and I tell everyone you must try it at least one time! You have to. Then decide if it's for you in the end. After two tries, I don't think we'll do it for Breakfast again. The place is beautiful! I have this great pic of my hubby just staring up at the ceiling in awe! (So cute!) The Princesses were very sweet as well and the little gifts are adorable! We prefer the food over in Norway much better. The food was the big problem. Being rushed and looked over were was just disappointing. :( In the end all that worked out. The food, not so much.

Beautiful! The strawberries too. Do you remember how much all that cost? I wanna say the slipper was like $12. It's been a year so I don't recall exactly. The cake looks delicious! And those berries....my DH would LOVE! (If the kids didn't eat 'em all first! LOL)

How about dinner at California Grill? We ate there with our three kids and everyone enjoyed their meal. It was my husband's favorite restaurant at WDW! After our dinner was finished, we went out on the balcony to view Wishes. It was phenomenal! I highly recommend it! Happy Anniversary! :goodvibes

We are CG fans. We did our 15th anniversary there and will be going back for dinner on 9/3/08 to celebrate our 25th for a very late dinner with Wishes! Yeah!!!!! I hope it is everything it was last time. Great food, great service, lovely views, etc etc

I was looking through all the trip reports and read some great things about CA Grill. I am going to call and see if they have something for us on our last night. Thank you! :)

Sounds great! I see from your sig you stayed in the Treehouse Villas...how'd you like that?

The Treehouse Villas were amazing but have been torn down from what I'm told. They were so big and roomy, convenient transport to DTD, etc. So sorry they're gone but we're really looking forward to trying WL this time!

We got absolutely gorgeous champange glasses at CRT (breakfast) for our 10th anniversary. It was such a wonderful surprise and they make such a wonderful keepsake from this trip. We also got cupcakes at Ohana, CRT, and Crystal Palace and autographed signs at CRT and Crystal Palace. All just for being married for 10 years - LOL! Enjoy!

At what point did you let the CM's know...when you made ADR's or at the restaurant??

They were still there less than a year ago with foreign workers living in them. We were told they could not be torn down due to environmental protection (wetlands and all). But I read somewhere they were "allowed" to redo them where they sit and Dis was thinking about redoing them and making them a DVC area!? Here is a pic I took late last Summer.

I wish we'd stayed here a few years back...we called to check out info on a mailed code and this was one of the choices, one of the more expensive ones at the time, so we passed. They look pretty cool from the river! :smokin:

Oh gosh there they are!!!!!! They were so cool!!!! Lower level had a bed made to look like it was suspended from the ceiling and a laundry room. Upstairs was a nice kitchen, dining area, living room, bedroom with I think 2 queen beds in it and another with a King. The King had its own bathroom and there was a common bathroom for the rest of the place. We just loved it there!!!!! If I was more proficient with this computer and didn't have my house torn up (remodeling!) I'd dig out some photos and show them to you. They were just the best adn would solve so many of the problems for the larger families. I had heard they tore them down due to flooding problems on the lower levels.

I would love to see your pics! Maybe they tore some of them down? Who knows. Anything cool like that gets ripped out eventually. :confused3

I know what a pain remodeling is! I'm always remodeling something. If you get a chance I'd love to see your pics! The bed on floor one sounds really cool! You can upload any of your pics to Photobucket.com for free and then just copy and paste the image code in your reply. :)

We are going to be celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary there next month.
I told them when we booked. It would be fun to get a surprise.

our anniversayr is not actually the week we are going but we are celebrating anyways cause we wanted the free dinning plan ours is actually in oct. will anyone ask the date and if we tell the truth will they care? or should we lie and say its that week so we get the perks

We've celebrated birthdays before at WDW but never an anniversary. I would love to hear ideas, suggestions, and personal experiences!

These are some of the places we will be eating:

Garden Grill , Crystal Palace, Tony's Town Square, Sci Fi, The Plaza, Le Cellier,
Chef Mickeys, 50's Prime Time, 1900 Park Fare, Polynesian Luau, O'Hana, Liberty Tree Tavern, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, & Teppan Edo

Thanks! :)

Just came back from Celebrating my 25th Ann in Disney with no kids!

No one will say anything to you. They know it is impossible to be there on the exact day of an Anninversary or a Birthday. People do it all the time. I have even did it 4 months later when I celebrated my 20th Ann on the Disney Cruise. They treated me as if it was that time. So no worries.
Have fun & Happy Anninversary.

I don't think they will care but at the same time, the only "perk" I've ever seen was like maybe a free dessert when you had dinner and the free metal buttons. If you're on DDP you get a dessert anyway. We're on DxDP when we go so extra dessert at dinner...:( No thanks.

Someone earlier posted these lovely chocolate covered strawberries that you can order and have sent to the room (the pics have been deleted now but they looked so good). That's the kind of stuff I was wanting to surpirse my guy with. But we have to pay for that, it's not free. I think the personalized menus are at certain rest's and someone said they were given free flutes at CRT?

Last visit I bought these round spa balls (from GF) to put in the tub and they soften your skin like crazy! I was thinking about getting DH a "spa" basket together and have it left in the room along with those chocolate covered strawberries! He's always doing the sweetest things for me and on this trip I want to pay him back! We are bringing our kiddos though so nothing too fancy or kinky. :rotfl2:

I'll be there on my 25th too (I hope) and without the kids or at least they'll have their own rooms by then! :rotfl2:
