Come on you can't say that and leave us here waiting, what are you doing after, or is it before, the carriage ride????? :hyper:

Just for you, Jo, I'll go type out the next day...
I'm going to run out of days and then what will we talk about?!

Oh don't worry! I always can come up with lots of stuff to talk about!!

And since we are both planning January trips--we can toss ideas back and forth too!

So what time did you plan you carriage? Did you say it's only offered at nite? I gotta get the master plan together and figure it out.
Are you going to any P&P parties? I am considering it for 1/26--looks like MK closes at 7 pm

:yay: can't wait :yay:

BTW I want a full report from both of you on the POR carriage rides to see whether I should do one!!!

Also HomeSchoolMama I never know what to call you? HSM???

HSM is High School Musical so that's no good!
Yeah--we do need a name or nickname--or else suffer the fate of us making one up for you! :lmao:

I knew it was High School Musical but that's all I could come up with :rotfl2:

OK so HSM what do you look like, ummmmm well there's lots of Jen's on here so are you one too? How about Sarah? Mary? Catherine? ..................... :rotfl2:

Animal Kingdom Day!
I have to admit that I'm not very excited about this park. Animals, yippee.. :rolleyes2 I do think that the hubby will enjoy the two big rides- Dinosaur and Expedition Everest. But the two younger kids will be too short to ride and my oldest doesn't do roller coasters. So, I figure I'll keep them happy while he runs off and does those two rides first thing. I like rides, but really, I just want to have a nice vacation where there's no tears over being scared on rides. If I tell him I'll stay with the kids or take them to another ride, there won't be any fighting. I know we could switch off, but I really just want to spend the time together more than I care if I hit all the rides. If that sounds crazy, remember that we haven't taken our kids on a vacation before. I can't wait to be together (out of our house!) and chill. Someone pass me a Lapu, please! :cool1:

So, the plan... Hubs is going to run over to Dinosaur & Expedition Everest while I herd the kids over to Killamanjaro Safaris to get Fast Passes. Then I plan on killing some time on the Marharajah Jungle Trek. Once hubby finds us, we'll use our Fast Passes. Next, the Pangani Forest Trail... Do you think the kids will cry if I jog quickly through these animal trails? :rolleyes1 I may scare a few hundred people or pass flat out, but we'd get through the trails more quickly, right? :lmao: What?! You didn't see the tiger? It was the orange blur... :rotfl2:

Next I plan on using a CS credit on lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. I would like to go over to Finding Nemo the Musical, then visit Pocahontas and her friends in Camp Minnie Mickey. The Festival of the Lion King is next on my list.
Uh... now that I'm reading my plan, I see that I have no rides for the kids scheduled. :scared1: Ooops. Okay- I may need to work on that and update this post later on, huh? :sad2: Maybe we'll hit the TriceaTop Spin on the way out? :confused3

Speaking of updating my plan, I want to get a "final" (is it EVER really final?) plan so I can print out my little book to take with us, but I worry things will change with rides or whatever and I'll have to re-do it all. I read that there is a new show (or was it a character thing?) in the Magic Kingodm for High School Musical 2, but I don't think it's on Tour Guide Mike yet. I dunno... :confused3 Any suggestions?

Sorry- back to my obviously not very good plan... :rolleyes1

This is where it gets good, though!
We have ADRs at Capt. Jack's in Downtown Disney for an early dinner. I scheduled in shopping time for a few hours here. I'm so excited about having money that I can do whatever I want with. At home it's "budget, budget, budget" (which you can't knock if it means you get to go to WDW, right?) but it will be nice to buy whatever I want until my money runs out. I actually think I'll get a card for school supplies too (stuff from the World Showcase) and keep it separate so I don't have to worry about spending "school" money. Hmmm.. good idea.

After shopping, I have a horse-drawn carriage ride set up for us. I'm a little worried the horse will be pissed (mad, not drunk, Jo! ) about all the weight, but I know the kids will think a carriage ride will be magical. :cloud9: A few weeks ago, a guy in a carriage was going down the street near our house (no telling why!) and the kids thought it was so cool. They wistfully told me they wish they could go on one one day... I just grinned at my hubby because we knew it would be a dream come true soon!

That pretty much sums up our day. I don't remember if I mentioned it before, but the kids know we're going, but they don't know anything about where we'll eat (character meals, the castle), BBB, the carriage ride, etc. I am trying to keep it a secret. After I'm done with the Daily Plan posts, I'll move on to the magic pixiedust: that I am adding. Some of the ideas are fromthe boards, but a lot have jus been thought up on the fly as I planned this trip.

So, stay tuned... Monday will be a report (with pics!!!) on projects for the trip. There may have to be more than one weekend I work on these now that my girls will be home this weekend. They were going to have a sleepover with my SIL, but my BIL is sick. It has been rescheduled, so I'll try to do things this weekend, but continue then if I have to.

We did AK in 2005 without any fast rides and we loved it, if it's warm enough do the rapids my kids loved it. There's lots to do without the big coasters :)

I didn't realise this was your first family vacation, what a great one to choose :thumbsup2

Isn't the new HSM2 thing at MGM?

It's so great to keep some surprises secret :goodvibes

I have the carriage ride scheduled for 9p.m. We're shopping before, so I don't want to rush.
I got the info from All Ears' Site.

Dunno... HSM is High School Musical. Oh! You figured that out, huh?

You guys don't have nicknames, do you? An abbreviation? How about just HS? I'm not good at that stuff.

My real name is Dawn. Dawn Marie, in fact... :rotfl2: :lmao: See the problem with using my name? I'll leave the decisions up to you two.

I'm off to meet my SIL for dinner! I believe she mentioned margaritas!!!

They did re-do the show at MGM, but I read something about a thing at MK. I'll try to find it... :confused3

Sounds like a fun filled AK day! Ya know I think I only did all the trails once. Usually we hit the big rides/attractions and are outta there. Although I do like AK because it's just so nicely themed and set up. We fell asleep in the Finding Nemo musical show :cool2: Definately try to hit up the Lion King show though.

DM2???? :rotfl2: Nope I think we can only have 1 DM ;) :rotfl: TE is really Tracy but because DisneyLandMama is T she's TE, so you tell us what you want us to call you :thumbsup2

Finding the balance between rides and learning is going to be the hard part for me at AK and Epcot. We'll get it though... :)

What about HSMama? Is that too long? :confused3
I'd be interested to hear what you thought was and wasn't worth it at AK, Jo. :)

Are you going to any P&P parties? I am considering it for 1/26--looks like MK closes at 7 pm

The only night that MK closes early is the night I'm leaving. DH did ask if we should look into an extra night, but I said "no". Don't kick me out of the group!!!
But really, I can't justify changing our plane tix (5 of'em!) and adding the hotel, then another day on the dining plan and the P&P. That would be hundreds of dollars, you know? I'm hoping to get a pool this spring, so I have to be somewhat thrifty. :sad1:

I would love to though... If I could shift all my ADRs, I would. But I doubt I'd be able to get CRT and Le Cellier at this point.

Animal Kingdom Day!

So far I am just planning this one for the evening extra magic hours--at my kids age--they are here for the big rides only. (although we are big animal lovers--so it may change). If you read on MizD's report tho--the EMH are super nice--both am and pm. AM for animals and PM for rides.
I really just want to spend the time together more than I care if I hit all the rides.
No--that sounds normal and something I need to remind myself--sometimes we are splitting up to grab fast passes or run to rides and kinda forget to sit a minute and enjoy the magic!
(of course, then my family would say "hurry up--we're gonna miss our FP time to EE!!!):lmao:

Do you think the kids will cry if I jog quickly through these animal trails? :rolleyes1 I may scare a few hundred people or pass flat out, but we'd get through the trails more quickly, right? :lmao: What?! You didn't see the tiger? It was the orange blur... :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Haven't done this one in a while--go with healthy and untired feet.

Hey--try the boneyard area for kids--mine like it when they were little......now they run past it to get to Dinosaur.

After shopping, I have a horse-drawn carriage ride set up for us. I'm a little worried the horse will be pissed (mad, not drunk, Jo! ) about all the weight,
:rotfl2:

So you are boating back to POR? Do you know how much time that takes? (I have no clue)
but they don't know anything about where we'll eat (character meals, the castle), BBB, the carriage ride, etc. I am trying to keep it a secret.
Wow--you are good like Jo! I'm the worst secret-keeper. I just get too excited. So---I may have missed this but when and where did you book BBB? BA wants to do MK this time but I'm not sure when.

Oh goodness--another Dawn Marie!! :scared1: I'm not sure the Boards are big enough! (although she "informed" me that she spells it Maree!)

Ok--I can do HS cause I get lazy with names!

They did re-do the show at MGM, but I read something about a thing at MK. I'll try to find it... :confused3
Yes--please find it!!!

Really? I wanted to find Nemo.... Was it more for little ones?

No, I would not change plane tickets! DH is keeping me to 5 nites this time cause each day does add a lot of $$ (and time off work for him).

Have you got a Disney Visa, HS? I just applied for one cause I read that sometimes you can get the deals earlier than other folks. I don't like to carry interest balances on cards--but love to get a good deal. Are you subscribed to the Jan code thread?

I would love to have a pool here, but we seem to just keep getting more animals, fences, and tractors, oh my!
And I don't think we have any flat land so not sure where they would put it so the water wouldn't flow down the mountain!

In order to better serve you, this PTR now includes a new title and an update date at the end ot the title (Thanks for the help, Z!) and clickable links on the first page to each post. We are working hard to better serve you....
:lmao:

A lot of people really like Nemo, but it just didn't do it for me. :confused3

Just remember it's a very long show.
Hmmm... Good to know. I thought the "behind the scenes" show I saw about it looked weird. Maybe we'll leave it for last since we'll see Crush, etc. at Epcot the next day...

So you are boating back to POR? Do you know how much time that takes? (I have no clue)
I don't know. But we'll boat to DTD, so I figured I'll jsut see how long that takes.
Wow--you are good like Jo! I'm the worst secret-keeper. I just get too excited. So---I may have missed this but when and where did you book BBB? BA wants to do MK this time but I'm not sure when.
I'm not tempted to tell now that they know we're going. The rest is easy to hide. :thumbsup2

I was trying, but I couldn't find it. I'll look more later... :confused3

The Disney Visa is a "no-go" with the hubs. I am subscribed to the Jan thread. All it seems to be is people asking the same questions over and over. :sad2: Show me the codes!!! :cheer2:

I really want an inground pool, but that's not going to happen any time soon. So, since our porch is 10 steps down to our yard, we'll just butt it up to the deck and surround it with decking. My kids love to swim and in Texas, it's nice enough 8 months out of the year, really.

On your very first post Go to Edit, then click Go Advanced and it lets you change the title.
Thanks!
