101 Ways My Son Entertained Himself at WDW--The Last Day--New 11/18

Aww I love your new puppy! So cute! We too are a kitty family, but we are getting our first dog ever on saturday!! The puppy we originally adopted passed away while getting fixed of a heart condition they didn't catch, so I know how you must feel about your kitty.:sad1: Pets are like family members:grouphug: The good news is we will be getting his brother, so it will be like we still have a little bit of our first pup.:dog2:

What a fun day this is going to be! Originally, Friday was going to be our first full day with dinner at 'Ohana, but then when Southwest's Ding made it virtually the same price to fly the night before, we decided to arrive a day earlier. Gotta love fuzzy Disney Math, right?

This morning is going to be the best morning ever! It's the morning that the girls and I split up from the boys and go to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella's castle! Both girls have an appointment for hair and make-up (we dropped the nails once I read that they were funky stick-ons), and I bought little tiaras for them to wear all day in their fancy hair-dos.
After we're done we have reservations for three at Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast. I was already excited to be going to CRT, but after reading (The most famous gal in England) Jo and (the fabulously talented Photo Shop goddess) Dawn Maree's trip reports and seeing their pictures of the Wishing ceremony, I am excited beyond belief. You're never to old to be a princess, right?

I had bought a Cinderella costume for my DD6, C, but I took it back this weekend. I decided she was just not that into the whole costume thing and probably would be too embarassed to wear it. She does have a less impressive one I can take and ask her if she wants to wear it, but I doubt she will. This is the day I made the cute Cinderella skirt/shirt combo for her. (See page 7 Post #96) I plan to buy tights or leggings so if it's chilly, she can where those too. DD10 and I will probably wear our "If the crown fits" tees I made from the DISisgns board. (Here's a link to her site)

While we're living the Princess dream, hubby has instructions to get Fast Passes for Philharmagic. The plan is to meet up after CRT and watch the show. I have a list of a few rides that I'm sure hubby and A (DS5) will enjoy and want to ride mulitple times, so he may or may not do some of those things... The list includes the Indy Speedway, Buzz Lightyear and the Astro Orbiter. Frankly, I don't care what they ride or eat for breakfast, because we are Princesses, and that's all that matters! princess:

We don't have big aspirations to ride rides this day, because by the time we get out of CRT, it will probably be near lunch. I'll, of course, make a plan for rides we'd like to do, but may just settle for anything without much of a line and the parade. We have early dinner reservations for 'Ohana and plans to watch Wishes on the shores of the Poly. Lapu time for Mommy! :rolleyes1

Yikes! Now that I think about it, how long does dinner at 'Ohana take? Will we be completely bored at the Poly waiting for Wishes at 9p.m.? Our ressie is for 5:30...

Now that our trip is only 3 months away, I plan to update on Mondays. Next week: Day Two in Magic Kingdom

When Kaia did BBB they painted her nails!

The Poly has a pool and a playground too! Plus, you can shop! PLUS...you can hop over to GF which is literally right next door and look around there as well!

Hmmm... Maybe I should just paint their nails myself before we leave for the trip. I can tell them that we want to look pretty for our trip.

Shopping? Sold! :thumbsup2 Maybe we can do little shopping and I can drink "mommy drinks" while the kids play on the playground. Thanks for the suggestions. It's been almost 12 years since we went and I certainly didn't know what I was doing! :rotfl:

Sorry I missed subbing earlier--just got the message from DMs report!

Gotta go back and read some...

(and BBB painted my girls nails in April, and they kept the polish. My 10 yo has long nails naturally and folks thought they were fake! ;) ) She wants a return visit ASAP!

Cute pup! And I recommend crate training for potty-training.:thumbsup2

Very good :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Some people need a little pat on the back every once in a while, I swear... :lmao:
Definitely :goodvibes

That's the ride that we've never needed FP's on, it's usually a walk on especially if you time it when the show finishes :thumbsup2

You could even go back to MK and watch it there :thumbsup2
If I answer this, it may give away part of my PTR, so I'll remain silent for now. I will say going back to MK would leave me Lapu-less.

Well, welcome now! :welcome:

What do you mean by crate training? We have a crate and he sleeps in it at night. He loves to go outside andif I tell him "Let's go potty" he'll go outside and do it. But getting him to let me know he needs to go? Not so much.:sad2:

We just got home from scouts and the kids had to pick a country to do a poster on and present it at the end of the month. (Having 3 kids suddenly seems like a lot more work! ) Like a good DIS Mommy, I made sure my kids got countries that are in the World Showcase. :thumbsup2 That will be perfect since I bought the Vacation Education Destination Epcot book.

My oldest got the United Kingdom, my middle child got Norway, and my youngest got Mexico. This should be fun! :)

When scouts was over, I decided to run by Hobby Lobby so I could buy stuff to make cute lunch box memory boxes for the trip (Who's TR did I see those on, darn it? :confused3 I wanted to go get another good look before I attempt my own. I also want to give credit...)
Anyway... My DD10 says, "I wonder if the U.K. has Rock-n-Roll or just tea pah-ties all the time?" (Imagine it said in her best English accent, if-you-will-please.)
I told her, "Well, one of the ladies on the DIS boards lives in the UK. I'll ask her." She was immediatly embarassed and told me NOT to ask her. Seriously, Mom. Don't ask her.
Mission accomplished, y'all. My job is done here... :rotfl:

So, Jo? Do you have rock-n-roll there?! :lmao:

(this works great with pups--have never tried with older dogs)
Crate training involves keeping your pup in the crate at any moment that he is not being 100% watched by you. Since pups do not want to soil their environment, they will wait to go potty (providing you take them out a lot of course--at least once an hour!). With Max (my super smart standard poodle), this took about 3 weeks of round the clock stuff, then we kept him in at night for up to a year (ending with leaving the door open and it was his house). Since I am a SAHM, sometimes I tethered Max to me during the day and he loved that too (tied his leash to me!). He just trotted along all the time--and I didn't forget about him!
I found this method worked
great--it's a little hard on the kids to keep putting him back in the crate but I just kept saying "it's temporary."

Max is 4 now and never has an accident. Worked great with my mom's schnauzer too.

Another tip: If your pup chews on the furniture, get out a newspaper, roll it up, then hit yourself over the head whilst shouting "I should have been watching my pup!":rotfl2:

Very interesting. We've only had him 2 weeks (He's 4.5 months old), so hopefully it's not too late to try this. I make him stay with me, and he doesn't have accidents. But every once in a while he sneaks off and has an accident. I normally put him in the backyard when I can't watch him fully (during school), but I know that won't teach him to tell me when he needs to go outside.
So, keep my eye him every minute and don't put him outside? Only in the crate or with me? How will I know when he needs to go? How did you transition from crate/constant watching and him telling you he needs to go out?
When I take him outside and say "Go potty" he will go, so that's good, right? :confused3

I REALLY appreciate your help!!! I've read so many things on-line, but real-life trial and error seem like they would work better.

He's a great age for this! And I forgot--you have to keep a bag of treats near the door, so each time he potties outside, he gets a treat and praise. One person told me to even carry him to the same spot in your yard so that he would always go there (we move a lot so that hasn't been too useful! ) At first, you are really just taking him out at the sensible times (after meals, every time you get him out of crate, before bed, etc)---and always do the same routine. "let's go potty.......leash.....out same door.........treat" Back in crate if not with you. He transitioned to going to that same door and barking. But really it's like potty training--you have to train yourself first then they pick it up! I took Max to a puppy obedience class and this was how they recommended it and it has helped SO much-- I truly never worry about him having accidents in anyone's home.

I love puppies and would have them all the time!! But right now, I have kids due in November so that will keep me busy! (but I won't have to house-train them! :thumbsup2 )

You are so crafty. Love the stuff you made your kids.

Oh - you can see Wishes from the Poly beach and they pipe in the music.

You are a cruel Mummy :rotfl2:

We don't have rock n roll now (well except a few enthusiasts!) it's all discos and night clubs but it was huge here way before my time :lmao:

Okay- I'm working on it! He did walk up to the backdoor and ring the bells I have there last night. The hubby took him out and he went. Good boy! It took me a while to figure out why he wouldn't go for me, but would hubs. It's the leash. He's Mr. Free-Peeing spirit or something and refused to go when I had him on the leash. High maintenance dog! :rotfl: Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

For everyone else... I'll stop talking about poops and pees now! :thumbsup2
