101 Ways My Son Entertained Himself at WDW--The Last Day--New 11/18

Cool boxes HS! I'm gonna print that off. I want to make a bigger one for AE's high school memories. (Cause I worry they will get lost). She takes tons of pics but I want a spot to keep other things.
Maybe I'll do them red/white school colors! :thumbsup2

(and got the message to come here on TFW--but I was coming anyway! ;) Had to stop by DMs place first cause she is feeling bad.)

Hi!!! I just posted to you about the puppy on TFW!

For something bigger you could always get one of those boxes that's cardboard-y looking. Or a hat box style. It would hold more, I think. Have fun!!! :woohoo:

Great job on your projects and your AK day looks good! Be excited!!! It's a neat place too!

Make sure you don't miss Nemo!

Okay! I'll get all excited. I'm glad you said not to miss Nemo. I was starting to wonder if I should skip it... :confused3

I am soooo excited about this project. I fell in love with the cute shirts I was seeing all over eBay, but couldn't swing 3 (or 6) of them. I tried to figure out how to make them, but I don't sew.
One day when hubby was actually listening to me go on and on about the trip, and wanting to make shirts, he reminded me of his high school days working in a tux shop. Apparently he did alterations, blah, blah.... could sew it for me... What?! He didn't now what he got himself into! My mom had given me a 1960's sewing machine that I had no idea what to do with. My poor hubby spent a lot of time on the internet just trying to figure out the way it worked. That's why I love him! He wants everything just so (no pun intended!) We're just two type A's laughing our way through marriage, I tell ya!
Long story shorter... Here's the result:
cheetahshirtsminnie.jpg

These are for our day at the Animal Kingdom. I bought the girls tan capri pants to go with them. I haven't bought my shirt yet, so we'll do that later.

I also made these to wear for all three of us:

Aren't they cute?! I'm very happy with how they turned out. I had a problem with the Minnie beads flipping upside down because of where the holes were. I contacted the seller (got them on eBay) and she wasn't very helpful. So someone on the TFW board (that darn memory again!) mentioned bracelets instead of necklaces. I'm glad that it worked out, but I would be careful buying any Minnie beads on eBay. PM me if you're considering it and we'll talk details...

Last, but not least, shirts for another day. Maybe an MK day?

You like the extra bling? (I'm hearing the HSM2 song "Fabulous!" in my head now!) Pretend there's a hot pink bow on Minnie's head, okay? I planned on using black ribbon, but it faded into the shirt too much. So, I'll be at Hobby Lobby AGAIN tomorrow! The girls have hot pink capris or black jeans skirts for this outfit. I plan on making a hot pink tutu for C to wear, but I'm pooped! Maybe in a couple of weeks? :confused3

Speaking of Hobby Lobby... Do they only have one person trained to cashier on each shift? Geez!!!:sad2:

Okay- so, there's what I promised. I'm beat, "see" you in the morning!

Wow HS great shirts and what a wonderful hubbie you have, I like your bracelets and ear rings too :thumbsup2

Those turned out really nice. I would love to have you pm me details about how you made them.

And it is a chance that we may cross paths briefly since we arrive on Jan. 5.

As a big-time ribbon devotee, I am luvin' all over your tees...Tell me this, did your sweet hubby sew on the ribbon, or use fusable?? I am making a few like this for my upcoming trip, and I have been trying to decide which would be easier and longer-lasting....

Eevrything looks great, girl!!! Diggin' your bling!!

<<feeling a strong sense of inadequacy when viewing HS's craftiness>>

But I am super impressed!

Sure. I borrowed the idea too! Have fun! :thumbsup2

The details of the bracelets are super easy. I bought the Minnie beads on-line (I'll PM you on that part! ), and just got brown, clear, red, and black glass beads. Be careful to get larger ones. I just bought what was pretty, then the red ones were so tiny once I put them on with the Minnie beads. I just threaded them on clear stretchy jewelry cording and tied it. Make sure and measure the wrist (I did the girls while they slept last night!) the bracelet belongs to! It's so easy!
The earrings were the same beads (with up/down holed Minnie beads from eBay) on jewelry pins. Then hubby wrapped them around a earring back and clipped the extra off. All of the stuff I needed was at Hobby Lobby other than the Minnie Mouse beads.
This was my first time to make any jewelry, so I know anyone can do it! Let me know if you have any more questions. :)

I used a fusable first and ironed everything on then he sewed around the edges of the ribbon and used some zigzag type of stitch around the Minnie head. Just let me know if you have anymore questions! I'm happy to help! :)
And thanks for reading!!

You're so silly! :rotfl2: I've never made any of those things before this weekend. Anyone can do it! I don't even really like making crafty things. But I love to save money!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I should be giving you props for raising a teenager!!! I'm terrified for that stage! Of course, the smart mouth stage that my son is in now isn't so fun either! :scared1:

It was me!!! YAY! I'm glad they worked out. I really love how everything looks I have to try and get more crafty and see about getting some beads from ebay as well! I made DH a few necklaces for xmas a few years back so I have cording and clasps but nothing to put on them!

LOVE the craftiness!

Well, thank you then. The eBay lady never answered me about fixing the problem, so at least you gave me an option.

The shirts and jewelry are perfectly ADORABLE!

YOU should start selling on EBay!

Thank you! Hmmm... I wonder if I could do that to help pay for my trip? :) I'll think about it.
I don't think I'd like to use that lady's beads though since she wasn't very nice about the problem they had. :confused3
Thanks for reading!

<<afraid to look on thread--still in awe over HSs craftiness:worship:

They did turn out cute! Have you ever sold on Ebay? I need to know how to do that and how much % that they take. I have a bass clarinet that I bought in Dec--and she's not in the band now. So I told DH that I would put my computer time to good use and sell it!:thumbsup2

I've sold a lot of things on eBay. If you go set up an eBay account and a Paypal account (both are free), it's really easy to understand. They take a percentage based on how much your item sold for. Good luck!
