What a great person you are helping out at the household so the parent can take care of their son:goodvibes

So glad to hear that things are looking good. It's so amazing how children's bodies can adapt and bounce back!

Yes, it's amazing. My cousins go home today, so hopefully I'll get back on track tomorrow with an update! :cutie:

Aww. Thanks! It's the least I could do. Our sons are only 8 months apart, so I was constantly thinking of my baby.

It was benign. Thank you for your prayers and welcome to the PTR!

Thank you for the prayers. :goodvibes

Still thinking and praying for you and your family. I hope everything is going well!
Thank you, Jen. You're a sweetie to come check on me when you're having your own hard time with your friend Melissa's health.

Glad he is doing well.:goodvibes
Yes, he's doing great. Thanks for your well wishes!

I am hoping to get on track and talk about something FUN now! My family goes home this afternoon, and I have to get my house in order. We also have to do school again. We took last week off for trips to the hospital and to be with family, so it's back to work tomorrow!
Look for an update (as soon as I read through where I left off and decide what's next) Monday. Any suggestions on what you want to hear about next? Anyone? Bueller?

Ok I'm up to date. I'm so glad to hear that your nephew is doing better and that it was benign.

So have you done any trip shopping whilst school shopping? If you have then you could report on that. Just sayin' :rolleyes1 popcorn::

Shopping... I love it, but my funds are limited. Sound familiar?
At first, I was so excited about getting t-shirts for 50% off at Hobby Lobby, then asking the DISigners to help me with a few iron-ons. Sadly, I found the Boutique clothing thread and saw those beautiful clothes everyone was making or buying and I was no longer satisfied with t-shirts and jeans for everyday. Did I mention I can't sew one lick? :confused3

Now, I'm totally stressing over outfits. My 6 yr old, C, is still happy to wear clothes that have Disney characters on them, but prefers High School Musical and Hannah Montana. My oldest, B, likes HM and HSM, but may or may not wear tees with them on the shirt after she gets back from our trip. My son only cares about Cars and Buzz Lightyear.

So, this wanting cute clothes really messed me up. I can't buy lots of cute Disney Clothes for one kids and not the other two. But, my son doesn't care and my oldest will not go for them.
One solution I found was to make the Mickey tees with ribbon and Minnie-shaped heads on them for the girls and me. Picture this outfit: A brown tee with a cheetah print ribbon across the chest, then a brown ribbon running down the middle. The Minnie head will be out of a tiger print with a little black bow on her head. I bought us all tan capri pants to wear with it. I didn't alter the pant because I'm thrifty (cheap!) and I refuse to put something on them so they can't wear them with other clothes. This outfit is for the Aimal Kingdom day, of course.
I want to make a safari Mickey Head shirt for A, but I'm not sure how. I guess I can wonder-under it all and hope it stays. Somewhere I read you can put clear fabric paint on the edges and it should hold up. Suggestions are welcome, by the way!

Stay tuned for another to find out if my kids will be naked (pronouced neck-id here in Texas) at the House of Mouse. Dun, dun dun!!!!! popcorn::

Sorry, that was my feeble attempt at a cliff hanger. Still, check in soon! :goodvibes

I'm still trying to find the instructions for the tutu on my pre-trippie...as soon as I do...I'll pm you!

and :woohoo: for your newly discovered addiction!!!!

Just thinking about creating cute shirts is daunting enough... good luck... I am sure it will look awesome.

I love the animal print shirts idea. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that can some up with cute ideas in my head, but they never work out on the actual product! :rotfl:

Make sure you keep us updated on those shirts and all other details!! popcorn::

Well I'm just amazed at anyone who makes their own shirts, so any craftiness is amazing to me. All the stuff on the DISign boards is Chinese to me. Are there pics yet? :goodvibes

I'll hit up the 50% off sale Disneyshopping is having right now. $5 ADULTtees, yup that's my kind of sale!! ;)

Okee Dokee! I want my kids to have super cute clothes, unfortunantly, I can't sew a lick! My mom gave me a sewing machine yesterday. I guess my first attempt with be to sew the ribbons down so they won't fray. I hope it works out!!! :scared:

We can hope. It's my project for the week. I finally found the material for the Minnie heads today.

We'll see how it goes this week! I have to figure out how to upload pics with my new camera too.

The shirts sound adorable!:thumbsup2
Soudning and looking, may not be the same! Yikes! :scared:

Haha! I'd rather shop too, but I just can't buy the clothes I wish the kids could wear. No pics yet. I'm planning on starting them this week.

So great about your nephew, hope he's still doing well :goodvibes
I went to my mom's yesterday and she said he has a lump on the back of his head where the incision is. They thing it's an infection. So, the doctor gave him antibiotics. hopefully that will take care of it. Otherwise, he's doing well. Thansk for asking.

Today I finally found a zebra material to use for my Minnie head tees. I even got the ribbon wonder-undered to the shirts. But, once I realized the tees were stretchy, it became obvious that they wouldn't hold together. :headache: So, I pulled the ribbon off to salvage it, and I'm going to try and wash the tees. There's a layer of gunk where the ribbon was, but since I pulled the tees from the girls' drawers, I'm not out any money. Once I hunt down some non-stretchy tees for the three of us, I'll resume that project.
Still, I was wanting to do something crafty. I feel like I lost the whole month of August where planning is concerned. So, I pulled out my second project. Now, I KNOW you ladies can do this one! I hit the Goodwill for jean skirts ($2.99, thank you!) while I was at Mom's yesterday, so I pulled those out. Then I grabbed the "heat transfers" (Who says that? Anyone? We say 'iron-ons') I bought from the Disney Store. Viola! I made an adorable Princess jeans skirt to go with a Cinderella tee I bought at the Disney store. :cutie: The transfers are only $6.50, but I bought them on sale for $3.99. They had several characters that I can't remember. I purchased the Princess set (which has 3 clear backing iron-ons: three princesses standing together, a gold castle shape, gold sparkles, and two fabric patches: a pink crown and a light blue patch that reads "Princess") and the Cars set. I put the princesses on the thigh on one side with the castle and sparkles on the other side. On the front pocket (castle side) I put the Princess patch. On the back pocket, I put the crown. It's so adorable, and I only spent $7!

The next thing I made is a shirt for my son. I bought a rust-colored polo for $3.50 at Walmart, and put the Cars patches on it. I put Tow Mater on the chest, and a label that says something about oil on the opposite arm. I plan on putting the Lightening McQueen and the racing flag on some jeans, but SOMEBODY got too big for his britches, literally! Again, it was about $7 for everything. I can handle that price tag. Plus, it's an original! ;)

As soon as I figure out our new camera, I'll post pictures. Deal? :surfweb:

I'm not normally a Goodwill shopper, but I thought it'd be a good choice for cheap jeans and jeans skirts. It was also a good choice for $.99 Disney movies. Yippeee! I got a ton of them that were "in the vault" and my youngest kids haven't seen. :thumbsup2 I wanted to go to mine, but I didnt' get there today. Maybe tomorrow...

Okay, that's exactly what I'm talking about ! LOL! That would happen to me if I was doing that project! I would not have thought about the whole "stretchy" thing ahead of time! Well, I'm glad I'm not alone, or you're not alone...or something like that!!!!

Can't wait to see projects of the iron ons though! They sound like they turned out great! :thumbsup2
