does anyone believe they will not be extending the current offer of min 100 initial buy in at AKV? Since BLT was introduced do you think the incentives will get better? I just need that one last push... even 500 disney gift card would be cool.

I think the rumor is that the incentives will continue at AKV after the 20th, just without the gift card piece.

IMHO you shouldnt feel that you should make decision to purchase immediately. Even if it expires Sept 20 there is alot of anticipation of more incentives to come in the upcoming months in order to sell out AKV; probably very likely this will be the case due to the introduction of BLT and also with the expected additional points DVC will need to offer for sale with the upcoming THVs at SSR.

In my opinion, they will try and offer good incentives for AKL, because so many new members are likely to be drawn to BLT instead. I think to keep sales going at a steady pace, they will have to keep good/worthwhile incentives on AKL. They don't want to sell out BLT and still have AKL inventory hanging around.

That's what I was thinking but my guide said absolutely not.... prices will only be going up. I hate that! no way he knows anything for sure. I'm thinking that with the higher MF's, location of AKV I would think they would be offering a bit more incentives sort of speak. I would love matching developer points even @ SSR.

Not to put down guides, because that certainly is not my intention, but they want to make sales.

Regarding MFs BLT is expected to be $3.67 per point but that could well increase with time & may close the gap with AKV's MFs. Not including BLT right now SSR is lowest followed by OKW and then by AKV I believe.

Purchasing a resale contract could be a good alternative too and you can buy less than 100 points on a resale contract as well.

We just talked to our guide about adding points and he told us to wait as they will be offering more incentives in the near future.....

One Thing You Can Do Is Buy Today And See What The Incentives Are Tomorrow One Thing Cool About Disney If The Next Promotion Is Better Than The Last They Will Change The Paperwork

They wouldn't do it for us! :sad1: We were just a couple weeks shy of developer points + a $ discount!!!! We only got the $8 off per point. We were told we could add on another 100 to get 100 developer points!

It still gets me to some extent! All the REALLY good promos came AFTER we purchased. We purchased right when AKV opened up to the public. Then I have to think--hey we wouldn't have gone on vacation that year when we did had we not bought then, so...oh well:rolleyes: (sigh)!

You always have i think its ten days to change your mind this is not something new to disney. The only trick to it is you by the day before it ends or couple days before. Depends on your exact situation and time frame but I do it the day before program ends anyway if they wouldnt let you do it you just tell them you changed your mind and no longer want the contract trust me they will change it. Im going to do this tomorrow.

I spoke to my guide the other day when I added on points at AKV and he told me they have not been told anything about incentives or price point for AKV after the current incentives end on the 9/20. I tend to think Disney will take a wait and see approach for a couple of reasons, first, BLT is not available to the General pubic until October so they will want to wait and see how it is recieved, secondly I don't think you will see incentives for a while as the fiscal year starts in October and I believe they set their goals by fiscal year, so they have a year to meet them. As for BLT selling out in 8 months that may have been true 2 years ago but with the current economy I think it will take longer, I could be wrong but it will be a factor. JMHO

Because BLT MF's "seem" lower, they would have an easier time getting away with rasing the rates. In reality the total $ of MF's/room per night is pretty much the same as AKV, BLT just require more points per room.
