10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

Thanks for the welcome! My kids are excited to find out there will be others close to or same ages.

Just read about Halloween stuff on the cruise so will have to whip up some costumes for the kiddos.

We are still GTY for rooms and who knows when those will get assigned but who cares we will be on the ship!

Hope everyone is off to a great Monday...

grlzmom, were you on the WB Transatlantic? I'm sure you were on one of the same cruise meets threads that I was. Or maybe I imagined it.

as i reluctantly get ready for work i am happy when i realize that we are only 18 days from our vacation and from meeting all of our newfound DIS friends....wohoo

The next 18 days will NOT go by soon enough...my mind is pretty much on vacation and of course I have to do contract negotiations and all sorts of other stuff at work...need to find time to get working on my door signs...can't wait to meet everyone...hope people are getting everything together...I am taking Monday the 28th off to do some final shopping stuff...my DDs got Halloween costumes on Friday night...of course my oldest wanted the $125 Belle dress at TDS...I was like sure, till I felt how much it weighed, thing would have needed its own suitcase!

:grouphug: I'm excited, as well. I'm trying not to think about it too much or I'm not going to get anything else done.

I just booked myself more work to get my mind off obsessing about this trip. Although, I should be working right now and not checking up on here.....

Me and my DH have been working opposite schedules the past few days to make extra cruise money....I haven't seen him!!! He's asleep when I'm leaving for work and I'm asleep when he gets home. I'm definitely getting a massage on the ship after all this.

...checking in here and mentally going on the cruise a few weeks early is way more fun. I think we finally figured out what shore excursions we are doing each place and I've gotten most of the "essentials" to pack (from the DIS packing list) so I think it's coming together!! Now just to start packing.

I am rethinking transportation Sat AM to the port; we rented a one way car since flight gets in at 6am and we want to stop and get water & alcohol. I am rethinking that even though it would cost a bit more we should just go with Disney transport and between 6 & the time the bus leaves take a taxi to the Walmart and get our stuff & taxi back to the airport. This way we don't have to haul all our luggage on board ourselves (just our carry ons & walmart stuff). thoughts????

FWIW, we're doing the Disney transport. We fly in the night before and are staying at the Hyatt. Either myself or DH is taking a taxi in the morning to the Walmart and then we're catching the Disney transport to the port.

Just a note too, the Walmart is open 24 hours, but the liquor store doesn't open until 9 am.

Also, Jac gave me a tip regarding hauling the water. She packed an empty duffel bag, then put the water in it and slapped on the Disney tags, voila water sent to your room without carrying it all morning.

:woohoo: 15 days until we fly to FL! At the dollar store the other day, I found more glow necklaces and the sort. Bought more. So, now we should have plenty for MNSSHP and Pirate night.

I'm going to spend the weekend working on door signs and my lime green Mickey head. I was reading under another thread that DISers ID themselves by wearing these LGMH in the parks. So, I'm going to run to Home Depot, pick me up a few LGMH and figure out a way to 1) Decorate them and 2) Somehow wear them on my person at MNSSHP and then for embarkation.

What is a lime green mickey head?

Home Depot sells Disney-branded paint and home decor items. Some of the paint samples are shaped as Mickey heads. Somehow Disboards started using lime green Mickey head paint samples as a "logo." I read about these on another thread too. On magnet thread there is a link to a name tag design that has disboards on it and it is lime green too.
