10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

3 weeks from today, at exactly this time, we will be sitting in the cruise terminal waiting to board the ship!!! :yay::woohoo::dance3::banana::rotfl2:

Whoohoo! I need to get shopping, I need new cruise shoes LOL!

"Get shopping"??? You haven't already been shopping?? :confused3 I've been shopping for the past couple of months. Even after i swore I wouldn't do that for this cruise. :rolleyes1

Oh, I've been shopping! I just haven't found the shoes that I want for daytrips. I want sandal-ly type shoes and it's end of season here. The kind that I have in mind, I can't find in a store. So I am buying online today, as it's my personal cut off to get stuff here before we go.

I still need pirate shirts for my girls. DH and I have pirate costumes, but I wonder if we'd be more comfortable in pirate shirts instead (ie if other adults aren't dressed up, or if we are more dressed up than our kids).

Ditto. We'll be there at 3 as well! 3 weeks from today. WOW!!!

We just bought some travel insurance and added DCL Transfers. Only thing left to do is to buy our day room at the Hyatt for disembarkation day and we are100% ready.

When you do, would you mind posting the price you get? I haven't booked what we are doing on disembarkation day and that Hyatt day room is still an option. I need to call DCL to see if I can find a way onto the Magical Express to get to MK for the day (we have the DCL transfers from the Port back to MCO). If it's a hassle, then we will probably stay at the Hyatt.

ETA - I called the Hyatt to book a day room. She said prebooking is not necessary and that it was $89-. I am 99% sure we are going to go this route, as reading through the DIS transportation board, looks like the ME would take an hour to get to MK, then we have to leave 3 hours before our flight (leave at 3:30). So I think we'd only get 4 hours to look around MK and we'd be pretty rushed.

Hey FE Folks

Just wanted to let you all know that "friend of cnktruitt" is actually my aunt Diane and alana is my DD........we're just spreading into her room:lmao:

Can't wait.........We're doing our countdown several times a day. And we all know the numbers don't change that fast but :confused3 we just can't seem to help ourselves!

well i can tell ya that at least the DW and myself are just weaing pirate related t-shirts...i found one that says "captain of a mangy crew" (i found it to be appropriate heh)

Hey Gang,

We just booked this cruise and would love to come to the cruise meet!

Frequent DCL cruisers here and it will be me, dh, dd15, dd13, dd8, dd6 and ds6 (sadly two older dds can't miss college).

My kids love making DIS friends when cruising so if anyone has similar age kids and want them to meet that would be wonderful.

Haven't been on Eastern in a while so very excited!

My DH and I decided to incorporate our semi-formal wear (him a suit and tie, and my beaded dress bought 2 years ago for our first 4-night DCL cruise that I can still fit into to) into "phantom of the opera" or "masquerade" type costumes. The less we pack the better. Though I belive I went a tad overboard on the FE prizes. Oh well, it was fun picking out those prizes!:yay:

haha glad i could be of annoyance! its track 1 on the CD in my car so i manage to hear it quite often hah

Yes, that catchy phrase is so ingrained in my head, I have actually adapted it to say "I'm on a plane" for my business trip starting tomorrow to "I'm in a car" for my daily commute!! I can't get that song/phrase out of my head.
:drive::car:

My family, DH, DD6(almost7), DD4.5 and DD19months will be at the Lounge at 3 pm as well. My DD6 was excited to hear about your DD8, DS6 and DD6. My girls are pretty excited about this cruise. Guess it helps that I talk about it daily (hourly?).

At one of the local dollar stores here, they had lots of nice masquerade masks.

We finally found some inexpensive but nice masquerade masks at a local costume store (my DH was a bit picky at the ones I kept pointing out and I refused to pay $$$ just for masks, so we compromised).

We decided not to go pirate and I hope our decision doesn't interfere with the fun, but we are guessing that there may be a lot of fellow shipmates that would probably be going pirate so we decided to be different.

I hope these next two weeks fly by, at least my business trip will help me keep my mind off our vacation!

Denise,

I know how those times go, I certainly hope I didn't offend you by kinda just taking over. I get to be an obsessive planner by the end and just needed to get my things together.

Hope all is going better! Look forward to meeting you on the ship!

Kim

Kim,

No offense taken at all. I am quite grateful that you were able to take over. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in less than three weeks!
