10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

I got my 'formal night' dress today! It's not uber formal though, so I am going to keep an eye out for something else too. It's a knee length, black and white sleeveless number.

Just dress it up with accessories!

Thanks, I do plan to. I saw some cute shoes that I might need to buy. I haven't shopped for myself in ages and now that the kids are in school and I only have 1 child to wrangle in the shops, it's been a fun couple of days (since school started).

Argh, I thought I confirmed booked my stingray excursion on CC, but I didn't . Now I do not have the 10 to 11 am booking, instead I have to book in the afternoon. I chose the last one from 3 to 4 pm. It will be DD1 and I only. DD2 is not happy about this at all. She really wants to do this activity, I wonder if they ever relax the age rules on this one (she'll be 4 yrs and 8 months old when we are there)...

I wonder the same thing, because my DD who is 4 really wants to do it too, but she doesn't turn 5 till April. I am really surprised by the age that they have on it, she has done dolphins before, I would think stingrays would be no different.

What's this about Halloween?

Woohoo! You got your tix!?! I'm going to watch for my mailman, maybe ours will come today too!

I haven't heard anything about Halloween on our cruise, that's my girls fav holiday! They will be so excited if they can dress up in the Halloween spirit. My DD1 wanted to wear a Halloween shirt to school today.

This is what the letter says:

Dear Guest
Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation. We look forward to sailing with you and want to take this opportunity to share with you some important information as you prepare to pack for your vacation.
During the entire month of October we'll be celebrating Hlloween on every voyage. There will be several themed events, including traditional trick-or-treating and a special costume parade for children.
Though not required, we encourage Guests of all ages to bring along their costumes for these special events. There will even be a costume contest for our adult guests on one evening with prizes awarded based on the following categories: Funniest, Best Group, Most Spooky, Most Original, Most Disney
More information on themed nights, times and locations will be available onboard in the Personal Navigator that will be delivered to your stateroom.
All guests are invited to wear costumes; however, we ask that you choose costumes which are not obstructive or offensive. To avoid any disappointment or delay in your boarding process, we ask that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these items will not be allowed onboard.
Again, we look forward to sailing with you and hope you have a magical cruise.
Sincerely,
The Cast and Crew of Disney Cruise Line

I hope that clears everything up a little. You should get the letter with your cruise documents...along with a page of halloween themed gift packages. It came via UPS.
Yay for halloween...and having to pack a costume, LOL.

My tix just arrive via Fedex, I didn't realize they would come in a courier!!!

And yes, the letter states that there will be several Halloween themed events, including trick or treating and a costume parade for the children. Oh my, I had better find my girls treat bags!

LOL, I'm now certain that I will need more than 2 suitcases for our family of 5. We've been able to get away travelling with just 2 suitcases for the last couple of years. But now with the inclusion of halloween costumes and pirate night stuff, plus beach buckets/shovels. This packing thing might take me longer than I thought....

How exciting! That will be so awesome, though it is yet another thing that I need to get purchased and packed...those suit cases are going to be STUFFED!!

What a day of exciting information...first Disney is going to Alaska and now this!!:cheer2:

Hey, do we have a finalized list of people participating in FE swaps and Secret Mickeys???????????

Thanks for the info. My documents will go to the other person travelling with me. Exciting news to end the workday with. Was also looking at the "Alaska Donald" DCL video. Should probably go back to work to now.

My plan was to wear our pirate costumes to both MNSSHP and pirate night; they're going to have to do for Halloween costumes too, because I'm not packing any additional stuff.

I didn't realize we were due for any more mailings. We filled out the forms online and the forms for The Bahamas arrived a long time ago. Great to know they'll have Halloween celebrations onboard.

That's what I am thinking for myself, pirate costume for the Halloween costume. Although I am going to look around a bit for me just in case I find something.

What forms for the Bahamas? I've gotten 2 mailings from Disney for this cruise. One was a welcome package after booking, listing when we could go online to book excursions. The other was our tix today.

My son has an Indiana Jones costume from last year that still fits. As long as he has a costume, I'm not really worrying about me.

So....how many adults are gonna wear costumes?

I was just at Disneyland today and they have some really cute Halloween Minnie Ears that I may get as my tribute to a Costume (doesn't take much space up although I certainly won't win any awards). Interestingly when I was there I was thinking, "Hmm, I wonder if Oct 10-17 is close enough to Halloween to dress up for it" and didn't buy them. Guess I have to go back. It's rough living this close...

I feel your pain, LOL. I can see WDW Magic Kingdom fireworks from my balcony.

Anyone know why I can't put our passport info into the on line check in documents? For both of us it says "Sorry, there's been an error. Please correct the information below to proceed.
You have entered a value that is too long. (E1512022)". It doesn't indicate which field is wrong but all I am inputing is passport # & expiration date. The rest of the form was done (I was excited, I did it at work when I didn't have my passport in front of me). Is that the problem???
