10 Days Of Glorious Disney Dining! Lots Of Pics!~Complete!

Looking forward to the rest of your reviews. I'm a Jersey girl also and have made that ride. I know how tiring it is.

Now we head to AKL to check in for the rest of our stay. Our room is ready when we get there at 8:30am :cool1:

For just this one day DH's best friend who lives in Port St. Lucie is coming to spend the whole day with us at Epcot. Then at dinner we are going to separate and the two of them are headed to ESPN Club to drink beer and eat wings and I am headed to DTD to shop and eat by myself. I am very excited about this! DH always rushes me through stores on vacation, so it will nice to get in some quality shopping time this trip.

Our friend arrives soon after us and we're off to Epcot!

So, our original plan was to arrive in Orlando today and start our trip, but when our friend wanted to hang out with us this day we decided to head down a day early because we knew we would be too exhausted from the drive to then spend a whole day out in the park. It worked out great since we got an evening in MK and then got a full day in Epcot after a good night's sleep. It was like 2 bonus days of food for us! :rotfl:

Since we weren't planning on being in the park on this day I didn't have a food reservation booked since all of our meal plan meals were already planned out, so the plan was to use a CS credit for lunch or if we can get into a TS restaurant with no reservation to just pay out of pocket.

Around noon we head over to Rose & Crown to see if we can get a table. They take us right away! This was especially nice because it had just started to drizzle outside, so I was glad to be out of the rain and hoped the storm would pass while we ate. This was also our first time eating here, so I was pretty excited!

I was the only one who got an appetizer and I started with a cup of the Potato and Leek Soup:

Oh my gosh! This was delicious! Loved the leeks on the top that were slightly crispy and the roll was excellent too. I will be back here in December and this time I'm ordering the BOWL!

DH got the Doncaster Burger with Fried Egg, Bacon, Cheddar and Horseradish Cream. By the time I grabbed my camera he had already eaten half of it, so no pic on this one, but it's my only slip up this trip I swear! He really loved this burger! He is still talking about it! it looked pretty good too and I wish I had gotten a pic of it. Oh well.

I had the Sunday Roast with Yorkshire Pudding, Mashed Potatoes and Veggies:
P1030321.jpg

I loved this! The meat was so tender and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. I'm not a big veggie eater, but the green beans and tomatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly for me. The Yorkshire Pudding was somewhat strange, but it was interesting and I'm glad I got to try it. Our friend got the same dish as me and he loved it too. He was torn between two different things and he was very happy with what he got.

No dessert for any of us. I wanted to burn up a snack credit and DH and his buddy wanted to have a beer in Germany, so we decided to save room for later.

On a side note, the service here was not very good. DH is always so thirsty and sucks drinks down fast. He always politely tells the waiter this when we sit down just to let them know so they can keep an eye on his drink. We never got a refill when we needed it. DH sat there with an empty cup most of the time. Our waiter never really took any time with us and was always very rushed. At the end of the meal he was walking by us with an armload of plates from another table and he dropped a little bowl of ketchup which landed on poor DH. It was on his shorts and all over his legs. Our waiter went and got a towel for DH, but he never actually apoligized to him. He seemed more concerned with the ketchup that got on the floor than with the ketchup that got on the person tipping him! DH is pretty easy going, but this really annoyed him and I can't say I blame him.

But, the service was probably a one time thing and I care more about the food, so I will definitely be returning here. I will add this to our list of must-do restaurants at Disney from here on out!

The pot roast looks scrumptious!!! Oh and potato soup too!! I gotta try it!! Maybe dbf and I can get a walk-up too?

Subbing as well.

After having the deluxe dining, how is the regular plan? I have had the deluxe the past four visits, but this time (in October in [see below number of days]), we have the Disney Dining (I think) and I am nervous about having enough.

I actually liked having a break from deluxe dining this trip. While it's nice having a signature to go to every night it can also really take away from our time in the park. Our last trip I felt like we were on a bus headed to a restaurant the whole time. I really wanted a break from that this time. I felt like we got so much done in the park and had really good meals this time. I paid for some extra things out of pocket, but we saved so much in tips alone that I didn't mind. Next trip I might just skip a meal plan altogether so we can get exactly what we want the whole time. I think you'll still like the basic dining plan. It's nice to have some different counter service meals too. We found some really good ones this trip. And it was definitelty still more than enough food for us and we are big eaters! Hope you have a great trip next month!

Count me in, too! :goodvibes

Welcome :goodvibes

Hello to a fellow jersey girl! You're right, that drive is tiring. As soon as we got to our room we feel asleep instantly. Thank goodness they had a room ready for us because otherwise we would have been sleeping in the lounge chairs poolside. :rotfl2:

North Jersey subbing here.....

Thanks for Rose & Crown review, my DH and I will be going for dinner for the first time this trip... in 48 days!!!! I plan on getting the Sunday roast. When you say the Yorkshire Pudding is weird, can you elaborate a little bit please? Weird flavor, texture.. that is the only thing on the plate I am worried about. TIA

Cant wait to read the rest of your reviews

It's worth a try! Maybe because it was lunch time we had better luck, but the lunch menu was very similar to the dinner menu and everything was delicious!

Also subbing.....We're from SJ too and will be at pofq from Nov 3-12th :)

Awesome! Lovin' all the SJ people! I think we will be checking out POFQ next trip. I really want to stay there when they have the Princess rooms! My 2 sister-in-laws and DH's cousin and his family will be in Disney that same week in November, so it looks like there will be lots of SJ representation those dates :goodvibes

Ok let me see if I can describe it. It's kind of like a non-sweet pancake that is shaped like a bowl. Then they put roasted potatoes inside of it and the gravy from the roast gets soaked up a little on the bottom. So savory pancake would be my description. I ate the potatoes with the roast and ate the breading part by itself soaked in the gravy. It wasn't bad by any means, just kind of different. Maybe too savory for me I guess. I wouldn't let the yorkshire pudding stop you from getting the dish because there's so much on the plate that even if you don't like it you would still have a lot of other food to eat. Hope that helps!

Hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming trip :goodvibes

Yumm food porn. Good thing I will be there in less than a week because this is making me hungry for Disney. LOL

Thank you so much!!

Now we are getting to the best part of the day. As we make our way around the World Showcase I had to stop at La Cava del Tequila and try one of the margaritas. I already knew which one I wanted, but DH and his friend looked at a menu while I ordered mine.

I got the Avocado Margarita. El Mayor Premium silver Tequila, melon liqueur, fresh avocado, agave nectar and fresh lime juice, served frozen with hibiscus Himalayan salt rim.

Oh. My. Gosh. I cannot even begin to tell you how good this was. I think the clouds parted and angels began to sing when I drank this little beauty. :cloud9: It was creamy and sweet, but definitely not too sweet and the salt on it was delicious! If they weren't so expensive I would have had one every day of vacation. I take that back, if they had been able to make that at our hotel I would have had one every day regardless of the price. It was just never convenient for me to get another one on our other days at Epcot.

DH got the Wild Passion Fruit Margarita. El Mayor Premium silver Tequila, ginger liqueur, passion fruit, mango nectar and fresh lime juice, served on rocks with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim.

He really loved his margarita too!

The whole place was PACKED so we ordered at the bar and they served them to us in plastic cups so we could take them with us as we walked around the park which I really liked. This was our first time here and it will definitely not be the last! I really want to try some of the other ones, but it would be really hard not to get the avocado one again.

Now that I've finished my drink I can get a snack. DH and his friend stopped in Germany to get a beer so I made my way into Karamell-Kuche for the first time.

It smells AMAZING in there! I was torn between a few things but as soon as I saw this I knew I had to get it.

Dark Chocolate Caramel With Sea Salt. Oh this is so heavenly! I should have taken a picture of the inside, but my hands were full at the time and it was melting right away in the hot Florida sun, so I dove right in and started eating it. It was really big and really thick. It was much bigger than your average piece of caramel you would get from a candy store. The sea salt complimented the chocolate so well. I went back for another one of these on one of our other days at Epcot and they didn't have them that day. Needless to say I was very disappointed.

I really wanted a treat from the bakery in Norway, but I was too full. This happened to me every time I wanted a bakery treat while we were at Epcot. I never get to the bakeries in Norway or France because I've already eaten too much by the time I get there! Oh well. Next year.

We have now done every ride in Epcot at least once, watched Captain Eo twice, and walked around the countries, so it's time for DH and his friend to head to ESPN Club and it's time for me to head to DTD for dinner and shopping solo :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Can you tell I'm excited?

Yorkshire pudding is very similar to a popover, but made with beef drippings rather than butter.

Uh oh, I think I am in trouble...I cancelled R&C and after seeing the pictures of your pot roast I know DH would love that.

The red velvet cupcake sounds perfect...in May we were at the MSB and had the Oreo one and it was delish!

That caramel square is exactly what I am getting the first time I go to Karamelle Kuche next month (how cool that I can finally say next month LOL)

OP could I order one of the avocado margaritas at the bar to go with my DD9 in tow? We will be on a mother-daughter trip and I really want one to walk around with, but am worried I cannot enter with a minor... Did others have kids in there even for a to-go order?

Oh my gosh, less than a week, how exciting! It's making me hungry too cause now that vacation is done I am back on my diet :sad1:

I am enjoying your review!!! The pics. are great!!!:goodvibes

Thank you so much! So glad you are enjoying them!

Thanks for clarifying that one for me! :thumbsup2

I think you might have to rebook R&C. It was pretty darn good. I highly recommend!

An Oreo cupcake sounds pretty darn good right now. I'll have to look for that one next trip.

Definitely get the caramel square. In fact eat one for me too! :rotfl2:

It is so exciting the closer you get to your trip. I think my husband was more excited than me this past trip, which usually isn't the case. He called me at work today and told me to start planning our next trip! Doesn't he know that is a dangerous thing to say?!:rotfl:

I don't remember seeing any kids in there, but I really can't see that being a problem. I see people with kids at the margarita stand outside the Mexico pavillion, so this isn't really that much different. I didn't see any signs saying no kids under a certain age allowed in so I think you should be absolutly fine :thumbsup2

Well that is good to hear. I like the safety of having the deluxe plan, but we are going to try the regular one, it was super cheap, and see how it goes :). Thanks for the response and its looking good.

Karamell-Kuche is amazing. I always get the caramel popcorn. I have to give the Dark Chocolate Caramel With Sea Salt a try next time.

You need to make it to the Boulangerie Patisserie in france. One of the best things in wdw is the Pithivier (I think thats what its called, I just point) :thumbsup2
