10 Days Of Glorious Disney Dining! Lots Of Pics!~Complete!

Sorry I am late but I am here now popcorn::

Oh I have fond memories of the red velvet cheesecake from MSB :cloud9:

Loving your reviews and can't wait to hear about your solo shopping and dinner at DTD :thumbsup2

Karamell-Kuche is amazing. I always get the caramel popcorn. I have to give the Dark Chocolate Caramel With Sea Salt a try next time.

You need to make it to the Boulangerie Patisserie in france. One of the best things in wdw is the Pithivier (I think thats what its called, I just point) :thumbsup2

I definitely need to make it a point next trip to eat at the Boulangerie Patisserie . I stopped in there this trip and everything looked amazing!

Thanks for joining in! DTD review coming up!

Now that I am on my own I head to DTD and shop until I am literally ready to drop! I spent most of my time in the Christmas Shop since hubby wasn't there to stop me from going crazy buying Christmas ornaments. I stood in a loooooong line to get one personalized, which I never get to do because the line is ALWAYS so long and poor DH looks like he's ready to die of boredom everytime I step foot in this store. Now that I am loaded up with a tree full of ornaments I am ready for dinner! I had been going nonstop since 6:30 in the morning and it was now after 9pm. I was very hungry and very tired. DTD was CROWDED that night and so it kinda messed with my dinner plans a little bit. I was planning on getting a pizza to go at WPE, but the line was out the door quite a ways, so I decided to try Earl of Sandwich for the first time.

P1030633.jpg

Everything on the menu sounded so good, but I wanted something that would still be good in an hour or so since I still had a long bus ride ahead of me. Here's the menu from outside the restaurant:
P1030634.jpg

The line in here was really long, but moved very quick. I was very impressed with their system here! For those of you who haven't been here this is how it works. Someone took my order and handed me my receipt and a pager. Then I picked out any sides, drinks or desserts I wanted and took them to a cashier and paid for everything. I then waited with my pager for only a few minutes, which was pretty good considering how busy it was, and when it buzzed I took it over to the side counter and they handed me my sandwich.

Now I'm off to AKL with a warm tasty sandwich and a yummy looking dessert!

I stopped in the gift shop at AKL and purchased a container of milk and my refillable mug for this trip. They were all out of mugs with a pink lid, which was kind of a bummer, so I had to settle for the blue.
P1030325.jpg

I filled it up with Diet Coke at the drink station and was finally headed for my room. We were in a room that was just about as far away from the elevator to the lobby as possible. As tired and hungry as I was at this point the walk seemed extra long! I finally reach my room and now I am ready to eat this sandwich! I got the Cannonballs which is meatballs, mozzarella and parmesan cheese and marinara sauce.

P1030326.jpg

P1030327.jpg

This soooooo good! It was still pretty warm considering I got it over an hour ago. I wish I had been able to eat it fresh because I'm sure it would have been even better, but even as it was it was very tasty and really hit the spot!

For dessert I got the Brownie Sandwich. Which was basically 2 big brownies with a chocolate filling in the middle.
P1030328.jpg

This was much better than I thought it would be! For some reason I thought it might be kind of stale tasting, but it was very fresh and chocolaty. I had a big glass of milk with it and man oh man did that hit the spot! It was very filling so I only ate half and left the other half for hubby to try later.

I really want to try Earl of Sandwich again next trip! It was so much better than I anticipated! It would be nice to be there for lunch when it's not quite so crowded.

Also, I just wanted to add that I looked back at my receipt and my total for the sandwich and brownie was only $8.50 including tax. That's really a pretty good bargain at Disney. I wouldn't have even tried it out if it weren't for these boards so thanks to everyone else on here who has written a review for EOS in the past. You all helped me discover a great new place at WDW!

Up next.. Lunch at Animal Kingdom!

enjoying your reviews and pics. I can't wait to go to Karmell Kuche /dark next month. The sea salt chocolate looks amazing. I had milk chocolate carmel last time. I am pretty sure I will be trying more than one new thing there this trip.

Love Earl of Sandwich - still mad at myself for taking so long to try it (1st time 2 years ago - we didn't always make it to dtd and when we did we ate at wpe)

Looking forward to more.

When we stayed at akl - we also had a room that seemed to be the farthest from the lobby. We were excited to have a savanna view but next time would prefer to be closer to the lobby than have a savanna view. We ended up sometimes putting our refillable mugs in a pool locker so that we could drop them off after b'fast and pick them up when we came back from the parks.:)

That's a really good idea about the refillable mug and the pool locker! I wish we had thought of that. We timed it one day and it took us 5 minutes to walk from our room to the elevator. 10 minutes total there and back to go refill my mug seemed like too much work some days. We think that by putting us so far away they were making us pay for checking in so early. :rotfl2: It was extra cruel because they told us the wrong parking garage to park in when we checked in and our first morning we must have hauled our luggage around for 30 minutes before we found our room since we parked on the opposite side of the hotel. But hey it's vacation and I'll take walking around AKL over work any day! :thumbsup2

Your reviews are GREAT so far:yay::yay:

I am looking forward to reading about the rest of your dining adventures....and the more I read, the more excited I get about my trip. 64 DAYS:banana::banana:

On our third day here at WDW we decided to head on over to Animal Kingdom for the day. We did a few rides including ITTBAB which we thought was supposed to to closed while we were here! Bonus! That totally made our day :goodvibes Then we headed to Flame Tree BBQ for the first time ever!

P1030334.jpg

We love BBQ but for some reason we had never eaten here before. I think it's because I have a weird obsession with Pizzafari and usually insist on eating there every trip, but I decided to try new things this trip.

DH got the Chicken and Ribs Combo with Baked Beans and Cole Slaw
P1030335.jpg

He loved this! In fact I just got off the phone with him and told him I was doing the review for this meal and he said, "Oh my God I want that so bad right now!"

After I took the picture he covered it in the BBQ sauce from the condiments station. He was a mess while he was eating and I kept having to wipe his face for him since his hands were covered in BBQ sauce :rotfl:

I got the Pork Sandwich with Cole Slaw
P1030337.jpg

I also covered mine in BBQ sauce, which was definitely the way to go! I am not a fan of cole slaw, but the cole slaw here was actually pretty good. However, I tried hubby's baked beans and they were delicious! I wish I had thought to ask if I could sub for the beans instead of the slaw.

For dessert we both got the Chocolate Mousse
P1030340.jpg

P1030339.jpg

This was really good too! DH said specifically to tell you all that this was his favorite dessert EVER at WDW! I don't think I would go that far by any means, but DH only likes 2 kinds of desserts: Cheesecake or something that's all chocolate. He doesn't really branch out with sweets.

I also really loved the outdoor seating area here. We sat overlooking the lake with Everest in the distance. I was a little worried about sitting outside when it's hot, but it was shaded and surprisingly cool. We had a tasty and relaxing lunch here. Definitely another must-do to add to our list for next trip and a great use of a counter service credit!

Up next... Possibly my favorite meal EVER at WDW!!!!

I really want to just take a bite out of my computer screen...... :lmao: that BBQ looks DIVINE!!!!!! this is someplace we've never eaten either...however, that may now change on our next trip!

After a full day at AK and a short nap we are off to the Polynesian for dinner at Kona Cafe. After eating here for the first time a few years ago this has become a must-do for us every trip. To start our night we caught a bus to MK and then took the Resort Launch to Poly. I really love taking the Resort Launch whenever possible. A nice relaxing boat ride before a meal really puts us in a good mood.

We arrived at Poly by 5pm for our 5:05 reservation. I noticed they moved the check-in area for 'Ohana presumably to keep the crowd away from the entrance to Kona and boy was I glad I wasn't waiting in that line. That place is always packed! We checked in at Kona and within a couple minutes we were seated.

Let me just start this off by saying that our waitress was wonderful! She was very attentive even though we could tell she had a lot of tables. She made great suggestions and really went over the menu with us.

To start we had the bread with Macadamia Nut Butter, which is my favorite bread and butter combo on property!
P1030437.jpg

Delicious as always! We finished all of it!

We decided to get an appetizer to split. DH loves the Sticky Wings, but decided to try something new. We got the Pot Stickers.
P1030438.jpg

DH liked them, but thought they were kinda boring. I kind of agree with him, but I still liked them and was glad we got to try them.

For his entree DH got the teriyaki-style New York Strip- sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini.
P1030439.jpg

He got this last trip and was kind of underwhelmed by it, so I was surprised he got it again this time. He really enjoyed it this time and said the mashed potatoes were really creamy and delicious. His steak was also cooked perfectly for him. He really liked the broccolini this time too.

I usually get the NY Strip that DH got and I really love it, but I was considering trying the Tuna Oscar this time. After a recommendation from our waitress I decided to give it a try. The Tuna Oscar is served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise and asparagus
P1030440.jpg

:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

In case you couldn't tell I LOVED THIS DISH!!! I have read mixed reviews for this dish on here, but I was blown away by it. The seasoning on the tuna was so flavorful and the fried green tomatoes were perfect! The wasabi hollandaise complemented everything perfectly and the tempura-fried crab just melted in your mouth. I am not an expert on tuna. I never eat it. Not even out of a can. So, I don't know if maybe the people who don't like this dish are more particular about how their tuna is prepared or I maybe it just plain ole' isn't for everyone. I however loved it! And for those of you wondering it isn't spicy at all. Lots of flavor but no spice.

For dessert DH really went out on a limb and had... the cheesecake. The very same cheesecake he has eaten here on every other trip.
P1030441.jpg

It was a white chocolate cheesecake and it was his favorite cheesecake he had on this trip. He said it was very creamy and very rich.

Ok, now every time we come here I want to ask for the bread pudding at 'Ohana, but I always chicken out. I hate being a pain and asking for special orders and such when eating out. I have 'Ohana booked for dinner our last night, but it's not until 9:30 which is kinda late for us and it would mean me driving there and I don't want that hassle on our last night. So, I figure if I can get the bread pudding tonight I will cancel 'Ohana and book something else since the bread pudding is my only real reason for going there. We had it once, but it was 4 years ago and I was so full on that visit that I ate it and loved it, but didn't get to fully appreciate it.

So, I ask our waiter if there's any chance at all I could please, please, please get the bread pudding from next door. She looks at me and smiles and says, "Of course!"
:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I cannot tell you how happy this made me! DH was looking at me like I was a nut because I was grinning like a fool. When she brought it over to the table he said to our waitress, "I think you just made her night." I said, "My night? You just made my vacation!"

Here it is before the Banana Sauce
P1030442.jpg

Here it is AFTER the Banana Sauce
P1030443.jpg

It was even better than I remember! It was a huge portion too! I ate this until I was sick and I still didn't quite finish it. DH kept telling me to finish since I rarely get to have it, but we were headed to MK for EMH after this and I did not want this bread pudding to make a reappearance while riding Space Mountain

I want to have this very same meal every trip from now on. If they ever stop serving the Tuna Oscar I will cry! I am headed back down to WDW in December with my dad and I have Kona booked for dinner our second night. He wanted me to cancel it and book CRT instead, but as soon as we got out of here I called him and INSISTED we keep this reservation. I need it again STAT!

So, was this my best meal ever at WDW? I really think it was. I've had some good meals and some memorable experiences at Cali Grill, but the actual meal as a whole had to be my favorite this time. Great food, great service and a little pixie dust with being able to have the bread pudding. Now off to Magic Kingdom! What a perfect night! :goodvibes

Well thats just great...now I want to cancel something so I can go to Kona so I can get the dessert from Ohana! :rotfl2:

Your reviews are GREAT so far:yay::yay:

I am looking forward to reading about the rest of your dining adventures....and the more I read, the more excited I get about my trip. 64 DAYS:banana::banana:

Thank you so much :goodvibes Your trip will be here before you know it!

I really want to just take a bite out of my computer screen...... :lmao: that BBQ looks DIVINE!!!!!! this is someplace we've never eaten either...however, that may now change on our next trip!

:lmao::lmao: I almost forget how good everything was until I see it enlarged on my computer screen. It is definitely worth checking out!

Well thats just great...now I want to cancel something so I can go to Kona so I can get the dessert from Ohana! :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao: Oh my gosh! It is so worth it! It must be a more common request than I thought because it was listed as Bread Pudding for $5.99 on our bill and they counted it as my dessert on the meal plan.

I really hope I can do this when we go in March I only book 'Ohana for that bread pudding YUM!

I'm enjoying your review. We love Kona much more than Ohana. I think Terriyaki steak is great and also love Tuna Oscar. But I didn't know you could get Ohana's bread pudding at Kona. We learn something new everyday, don't we? If I could pluck up the courage, I would ask for it also!

Now full from our dinner at Kona we head over to MK for the evening. On our way out of the park for the night DH got his favorite treat in the whole world.
P1030455.jpg

A Pineapple Float! Pineapple soft serve with pineapple juice. DH is a pineapple juice-aholic. We go through cases of it every month at home. When we are at WDW he gets these floats as often as possible. He will be using a lot more snack credits on these!

Up next... Animal Kingdom for lunch yet again!

Your last post may or may not have made me drool just the tiniest little bit. :upsidedow

Your reviews are making me miss Disney a lot! I am a huge pineapple float fan. Your Kona review is making me seriously consider reworking our ADR's for our next trip. We've only done Kona for lunch but the tuna and the chance to get the Ohana bread pudding make dinner very appealing.

Thank you for all of the reviews! :)

Special ordered bread pudding? Excellent example of the Disney magic we all know and love. :)

I really can't wait to try FlameTree this time. I have been loving BBQ lately. It is a phase I am going through, BBQ and jalapenos. LOL

On our third day here at WDW we decided to head on over to Animal Kingdom for the day. We did a few rides including ITTBAB which we thought was supposed to to closed while we were here! Bonus! That totally made our day :goodvibes Then we headed to Flame Tree BBQ for the first time ever!

We are back at AK again on our fourth day here at WDW. We got A LOT of rides done during the day. I am a converted rope drop fan after this trip! As soon as lunch time rolled around we took a break and headed to the Yak & Yeti counter service location. Once again, I kinda wanted my beloved Pizzafari, but decided to try something new. My only problem with coming here was the dessert selection looked boring. But, we'll try it anyway!

I grabbed us a nice little spot by this fountain.
P1030564.jpg

Now, time to tear into this food! This is the container that most of the entrees come in.
P1030561.jpg

I got the Sweet and Sour Chicken
P1030558.jpg

P1030559.jpg

I almost really liked this. The chicken was really good. It was more quality than what you would find at most local chinese restaurants. My only problem with this was the way it was served. I will know for next time to ask for a plate as well. I wanted to dump everything out of the container because I couldn't really get to my rice at the bottom. Also, I liked the sauce, but I didn't like the chicken sitting in the sauce this way for a long time because it was making the chicken kinda soggy and I wanted the sauce more on the rice than on the chicken.

DH was torn between the Asian Chicken Sandwich and the Orange Beef. As he was watching other people walk by he didn't notice anyone with the sandwich, so he took it as a sign and got the Orange Beef.

P1030557.jpg

He seemed to like it at first, but then he said that the orange flavor was a little overpowering. I tried a piece and liked it, but I don't know if I would want a lot of it. It probably would have been a good idea for us to split our entrees with each other.

I also got the Pork Egg Rolls and charged them back to the room.
P1030556.jpg

Here is what the inside looked like
P1030560.jpg

We both agreed that this was the best part of the meal! I love egg rolls and these were really delicious! There was a lot more meat and a lot less cabbage than the egg rolls I'm used to, so I was a big fan of these.

For dessert we both got the Frozen Lemonade
P1030562.jpg

P1030563.jpg

This was alright. Not my ideal dessert, but it was a hot day and this was cool and refreshing.

Overall I'm not sure if I would come back here or not. I definitely preferred Flame Tree over this place, but it's nice to try something new sometimes. I will at least come back for an egg roll next trip!

Up next... treats from Kusafiri Bakery!
