Only 10 more days till i pack up and set sail to WDW. This vacay is desperately needed. Having been booked so last minute (mothers day), we are uber extatic. It is the first trip i hadnt started a countdown at 300 days. Felt short yet so long. So excited. New resort this time for SSR. Excited about that but going to miss BLT. Wait list expires in 3 days for there so i have uncrossed my fingers and accepted it. If it happens now i may be slightly upset as i booked both golf rds at the courses closest to SSR. Lol. I guess ill live though.

Have a great time. My daughter, her friend and I stayed at SSR for the first time in August. We booked two months prior. I chose not to waitlist since I want to try all the resorts anyway. I was pleasantly surprised and liked SSR plenty.

The only reason for me not to put it down as my first choice is that I know I can almost always get a room here if I am booking way in advance. I would have no problem staying here again if I needed to book multiple rooms and/or it was the only resort available.

Come back and let us know how you like it.

Have fun, we are counting our days too until we leave NJ. We leave in 7wks - 3 days and counting, DD18 has a count down every day and DS 10 wants to pack now:) (omg this is the first time I said their ages, they are growing soo fast:sad: thankfully they still want Disney:thumbsup2..)This will be our first time at SSR too, Not sure if I am looking forward to it, we will miss BWV. We will be in Disney so that's all that will matter, just hope SSR is as nice as everyone says.

Enjoy your trip! We like SSR, and hope you will too!

Bobbi:thumbsup2

Antree... im sure its nice. Think about it though, how long are you really at the hotel anyway though. Even with my DS3we are there to sleep and sometimes nap or pool it up.

With my son we are a MK family now but were always an epcot, mgm family prior so well be back in that area this time. That was main reason for us buying into BLT. But im sure it will be amazing.

Its Disney, thats what matters.

Glad I'm not the only one who still calls it MGM! We too are now a MK family with our nearly 3 year old son. I would love to stay at BLT for the convenience of getting to the MK, sorry your waitlist didn't come through, but i'm sure you will still have lots of fun.

It will always be mgm to us.

The walk to MK is literally 5 min. Quicker than monorail. And the fireworks from your balcony, magical.

SSR is absolutely awesome. Each bldg./ section different from each other.

It all depends on what u are lookjng for. Each section has good and bad points. Me personally i like the springs and the paddock. Others have stated that they like the others for various reasons..

Just curious.Did you put in a request, for a specific area? And if so where?

Enjoy, have fun.

we havent yet.
can we this early? i wasnt aware that we could this early?
let me know, i got to get on that......

I'm 6 months away and I have a request in for my AKL visit..

I'd see what you want out of SSR ( In terms of Close to food arwa, or main pool )
Or being picked up early on either the 1st or 2ns stop...6 total in SSR.

Or would you rather be in the section closest to walking distance to DTD...All these things go into your choice...Good Luck in whichever u choose...Ans ENJOY.

Were gonna stay near main pool and golf pro shop. Renti.g. ar so no worry for busses. Ill call tomorrow. Thanks

Lake Buena Vista is probably our favorite course to play. Long, open tee boxes, slight dog-legs on most, extreme dog-leg on 18 but a good drive will carry the turn, wide fairways for most holes. Pin locations can be very difficult on certain holes. First real water comes into play on 4, but only if you are playing Blue, White or Gold tees, Red negates it. The 6th is the hole I love to get a room near when I stay at OKW (the course winds thru OKW). Be very careful on 6, consider a true lay-up if you are not a long hitter. The closer the lay-up the flatter the fairway. If you are mid-range fairway on 6 you will have a downhill lie, although it won't look like it, trust me it is. This is the first hole to approach over water. I can't tell you how many balls I have seen "drilled" into the bulkhead at the front of the green, if you go long at the green, make sure its right, center and left have a terrible bunker. The 7th is a true island green, more visually intimadating than actually played. Its a large island that allows on over-strike center, with the rough catching the long ball straight back. Short front right is on, short left and long right are bunkered. Enjoy your round!

Thanks. Lol. I am very familiar with all their courses. Played a ton when father worked for mouse. Sad they got rid on EP for homes. I love osprey n palm most. As a long hitter i exploit magnolia and LBV. But fun every time.

Shot 1 of my only sub 80 rounds on my honeymoon back in 97"on LBV. I shot a 79 and that was with 2 three putts. Believe it or not at the time I had no control with the woods so I always hit 3 iron off the tees. I rented brand new callaway big bertha clubs that still had the plastic wrap on them....And when I told the starter I don't enjoy hitting my driver 320 yards n straight 1 out of everey 10 times. The other 9 times I'm long but way right.....He wouldn't let me tee off unless i took it out.(He was serious) Of course luck prevailed & I boomed one straight n long....I think I took it out on 1 more par 5 but that was it....Everything went well for me that day...at the time I was about a 15 handicap, so to beak 80 was a highlight for me....Wife driving the cart...and all had fun. sub 3 hr round too..No one in front of us , no one hitting up behind me, so no pressure at all.

Funny thing is when we got back home from out honeymoon I thought there'd be a bunch of pics of me....Hahah .Theres 3 ...Mostly pix of Geckos gators flamingos...Port orleans ( I think ), the sky , lanscape..LoL too funny.

Anyhow ejot your SSR trip, and hit em straight..:thumbsup2

First time my dad took me there we got in a fight over grounding my putter in bushes i kid u not. Its mini golf in the truest form. And those pin placements, come on.

The first time we played it all I could do was laugh after the first few holes. I honestly can tell you that I credit that little mini-golf course with helping me read greens, even if the surface is exaggerated, the attention it requires is ridiculously demanding.

What was the outcome of the club grounding dispute?

I gave in. But at home it continued. So much so that a second trip was required to follow up with "local rules" of the course. Turns out you srent "suposed to" disturb the surrounding grounds. Believe me, i was pissed and we still argue to this day. But thats us.
My dad was grounded from playing original nintendo for throwing his controller at tv playing jack nicklaus golf. Lol
