10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Gas here in Canada rose 13 cents per liter overnight Thursday to $1.36/liter which is approximately $5.15 gallon for you south of us. Luckily I filled up both vehicles Thursday night!!! Glad i don't have to fill up the Magic!!

Good Morning All ... 3 Weeks Today !!! :woohoo:
First, welcome to Vero Beach Girl pixiedust: So...just wondering if you are from Vero Beach, love vacationing in Vero Beach ??? In '97 we spent a few days at the, just opened, Disney's Vero Beach Resort. We stayed within the resort and didn't have time to venture out, but it was really nice. Early one morning we saw a shuttle go up from Cape Canaveral.

Denise - how are you being impacted by the hurricane?

Jacquelyn - how is "our" Katie girl doing?

Like Ian said, gas here in Ontario shot up overnight Friday morning and we are paying the equivalent of $5.15 per gallon ... crazy! :sad2: Haven't seen what damage hurricane Ike did overnight, but it should be really interesting to see if the gas price drops as much as it spiked ... why do I think probably not.

Some of you that are going to Disney or back to back sure have a short countdown...have a really great time and see you soon!

Enjoy the weekend!
Wendy

Wow in just 7 days I should be on the plane well on my way to the party of a lifetime. Can't wait to meet each and every one of you. Lois

Can I join in on the fun???? Long story short...It's my 30th B-day and the Disney Cruise is where I want to celebrate!!!! We just booked yesterday! We had originally planned to go to Beaches in the Turks and Caicos, but it's closed because of hurricane damage! Thankfully, we got a full refund, now we're headed for the Magic! We've been on a 4 night cruise on the wonder, but this is our first 7 nighter!
It'll be me, my dh, and our adorable dd who will be 9 months in October! I'm a Disney fanatic and married my dh who liked Disney, but now loves it. I am soooo excited for this cruise! Life is good and I want to celebrate! We are going to be in a ocean view stateroom on deck 6!
I'm going to try to catch up on this thread, but don't know if I can get through all of it!
Right now, I'm gathering my packing list. It maybe silly, but maybe you all can help..... What do baby girl pirates wear? LOL!

Welcome!

You are going to LOVE the Magic!
Our DS is 16 months. He will probably be fascinated with your DD :)
There are actually LOTS of really cute girl pirate costumes out there.
(Don't get me started on how unfair boys clothes are :sad2: )

So, everyone, my docs haven't come yet either! When, oh When?!

-Tracy

Good morning all! and a big welcome to VeroBeach Girl!!!

Gas here in Chattanooga isn't too bad. I say 3.89 this morning. Haven't seen any over that, but it wouldn't surprise me if it keeps climbing.

I need to get my house cleaned up, but I'm having a hard time getting movitated this morning. It's either sit here and read and drink my Pumpkin Spice Latte' or get up and clean. Hmmmm....that's not a hard choice to make, lol.

Lori P. :)

Welcome to our newest members! :cheer2: The people on this tread for our trip are so friendly, helpful and caring. You'll be glad you checked in. ;)

Is anyone else starting to freak out a bit? In a good way though. :yay: Our luggage is actually out and stuff ist put in them...I can not believe that we are so closer to our trip!

Just got back from soccer games and it is hot hot hot still here in AZ, The high today is only going to be 99. Kids are out in the pool, and I am sitting here with my iced mocha (although a pumpkin latte does not sound too bad either Lori ;) ). Weekends are always when I catch up with DIS stuff and dream of being on the boat. I am going to order tuxes today for my DH and DS. Struggling with the cost of it, but decided it might not happen again until my son marries, so I want to be the first gal to see him in a tux. :rotfl2: Anyway, I found a dress last week on clearance at Dillards for $42 (reg $170!) and some clearnace shoes for $12 (reg $60). My DD is wearing a hand me down flower girl dress, so I think it all evens out anyway. :rolleyes1 That is my story and I am sticking to it!

I have been checking out the drydock thread as well...that has been fun anticipating what it will be. It is all new to me anyway, but you can't beat the smell of new carpet... Can not wait!!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend! :grouphug:

Happy Saturday all. Two weeks from today I will be on a plane that should be just ready to land at MCO for our stay at OKW. No Magical Express tickets yet but I just ordered them last week so I need to be patient some more I guess.

I have one suitcase out but it is packed for Fargo (I can't believe I am all ready to go and still have an hour yet). Once I get home from that trip I will begin packing for the cruise. I can't decide if I should just find a central location and hang items or what but I will figure something out. Drew came home this weekend but I won't see him until we go watch a soccer game right before we leave as he has a game next weekend. UMMM - now there is an empty bed to stack things on. You all are so good at solving my issues!

Denise - I hope that all is well and you are not having too many Ike storms. The picutes on the news show such devestation. Unimaginable.

Jacquelyn - like someone said - how is 'our' Katie doing?? Love it!! And I do hope there is a stead improvement showing.

Well, guess maybe I will go empty the dishwasher - or the dryer - or the cookie jar. Hey now, there is the ticket!

bumping us to page 1.

hope all had a great saturday. boys still at grannys for another night.

kim

Welcome to the newbies. Janet and I are almost at 6 days. We have less than one week before we leave. I so need this.

Just went to go to bed and discovered that one of the dogs had pee'd on our bed again. Thank God it is a water bed but none the less it is a major hassle. So they are being hat's a girl going to do. I just can't figure out why on the bed!!

I need this vacation yesterday!!! Lois

Oh, Lois... YUCK!! It's bad enough when Avery pees in my bed! But I think it is funny you have a waterbed. I am stuck right there in the 80's with you! I thought about replacing my waterbed about 18 months ago because Wynn hates it... but decided on the cruise instead. Maybe I'll switch it out next year.

I had a super busy day. Had to get up at 6:00 to get ready for the zoo. Walked around 8 hours in 93 temps and high humidity (felt like Florida!) Then got home and went straight to my mom's for dinner, because my sister and her family are visiting. Got home, got myself and the kids showered, and got them to bed about midnight. Now I am heading that way myself. And tomorrow is almost as busy...

Welcome VeroBeachGirl, I love Vero Beach, it's our home resort.

Got out the suitcases this morning, getting ready. Still no docs yet. Would be nice to get them.

Gas prices, don't even want to go there. I have to use my own car to run my mail route, I think I get may be getting 7 miles to the gal, stops and go's kills the mileage. I was told last month that in Oct. I was going to be issued a goverment vehicle. Can't come soon enough, they'll be paying for the gas then and repairs.
If I don't get off another 10 lbs my formal wear is not going to fit.:scared: OMG! I will never make it, not enough time.

YES, I'm stressed.

Looks like the 1st few days at WDW will be rainy but I have enough of those 89 cent rain ponchos that it will not hamper the party! I have enough for each of us (all 6 of us) to have a new one each day of our stay and still have a few left over. Can we all say together " Hello my name is ???? and I am a compulsive obsessive overpacker" Lois

Hi everyone,

Just checking in. IKE is history for us. We only got some wind and rain but my cousin lives in Houston and a tree fell on her house. Please keep Sharon and her family in your thoughts. Gas, if you can find it is still at $3.69.9 a gallon.

Looking forward to the cruise! It can't get here soon enough!

Welcome,

Vero Beach Girl, we're glad to have you!

Hi everyone,

Chris and I spent the weekend at the beach in Ocean City NJ. The weather was superb at a fantastic 90 degrees! The water temp was around 70 degrees so we had 2 nice beach days.

Katie is doing better every day. She seems to be getting more feeling in her back legs. She is moving them periodically and seems to be trying to stand. She gets her acupuncture treatments and they semms to be helping her out. We still have a ways to go but small improvements add up to big ones!

I just found out today that my Darling Christopher was planning on only bringing one pair of pants with him on the cruise! :scared1:
You see, Chris is the CEO of a Surgery Center and has an MBA (he also is an RN and has numerous healthcare certifications!!). This perplexes me to no end since he is normally very intelligent! I don't know what he was thinking when he thought that one pair of pants was going to get him through 7 days on the ship and 3 days in Walt Disney World!

The good thing is that we went to Kohl's tonight and he now will be bringing more than 1 pair of pants!

Husbands. Sometimes they must be supervised. :)

Jacqueline,
That is too funny! :lmao: I agree that husbands can be worse than kids. The question I have is; If my husband can program a computer to compute and complete government forms, why can't he work the TIVO? Crazy!!!:rotfl2:
