10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

They haven't decided yet if Hanna is coming inland, or skirting the coast. Right now, 3 of the 6 storm tracks say it is coming. Waiting is nerve-racking! I saw this AM that Ike reached Cat 4 overnight. They are saying cat 4 as he crosses over CC. I sure hope there is no damage.

Tucker stayed home from school today. He woke up and got ready for school, then threw up in the sink. I think he gagged himself while brushing his teeth, but kept him home just in case. I have a feeling he will be feeling just fine in a bit, and driving me crazy all day!

I was in Wal-Mart last night, and they have their summer stuff on clearance. I got both kids a mask/snorkle set for $5 each. I also got some cool light and sound pirate swords from the dollar store. I am going to add them to a gift basket I am putting together, and slip it into the stateroom while they are in the pool. I also got some candy, binoculars, disposable cameras, sand toys, straw cup, T-shirt, and pirate Mickey/Minnie ears. The "basket" is actually a mesh beach backpack so they can lug their own stuff to the beach each day. Leave it to me to give a gift with my own comfort in mind!

Denise... so glad you are doing well. Gustav really fell apart after crossing Cuba, and that was truly an answered prayer. We are really keeping an eye on Hanna right now. It is headed for NC, and they think a Cat 1 coming through Raleigh.

Ditto on the DCL package for us! Our Oct. 4 cruise will be here soon. Now, back to planning, packing, and getting more and more excited for our 9/14 Wonder cruise.

Denise - so glad you are doing well.

Jacquelyn - I know how excited you are. I haven't slept much this week just thinking about our 4 Michigan grandkids on the Wonder next week. Our 10/4 cruise will be our 10th DCL cruise. I still get chills from excitement just walking into the atrium the day we board.

Just thought i'd check in and say hi to everyone. Hope all is good in your corners of the world. 3 weeks today until we leave for our week long stay at Disney before the cruise. We've been busy preparing for our Disney wedding so we haven't done much for the cruise yet but hope to soon. We got our tickets and luggae tags a couple of days ago. Silly how excited we get when we get mail from Disney!

Things are crazy at work right now and i'll probably only have a couple of days off between now and the 27th when we leave so i'll really need those 3 weeks off Can't believe that after almost a year of planning the trip is so close

I am so jealous! I would love to have the package arrive. This way all the planning will be complete. I have already begun packing and getting the rest of the house ready. All we need is the package and get the puppy-dog to the boarders for the vacation. I am getting so excited I can hardly breath

I hope Hanna and all those to follow leave no destruction in the path. We are expecting pretty good storms this weekend from her coming up the East coast.

I'm still waiting for docs for our first cruise. I got a note from FedEx saying they had been. They didn't leave anything and won't be back til Monday . I am assuming they have the docs for the first cruise. Maybe they have the docs for this cruise instead .

No docs for us yet. I did call yesterday and made Magical Express arrangements for when we arrive on the 27th - I had tried that some time ago but they could not find my reservation so I had DVC do it, no problems at all. So now I can sit and wait for two packages from Disney.

Rainy here in MI but I don't think it is from any of the storms - cool as well. Rained all day yesterday - very hard at times and still at it. The reserve soccer team is playing Central Michigan in a scrimmage this afternoon - I am sure that David will go and maybe I will. I don't really want to sit in the rain (am I a bad mom or what?). We shall see. If the office is quiet today, maybe.

We are preparing for Hanna to move in. Hard to believe by where she is sitting now, but we are supposed to get rain bands starting around lunchtime. The main part of the storm will move through during the night. Depending on which website you visit, the eye will most likely pass between 20-40 miles from us. We are expecting 40-75 mph winds. We have quite a number of large trees on the north side of our house, and that is the direction the wind will be coming from... so I hope they all stay upright and intact!

No cruise docs for us yet. I guess I will be stalking my mail lady for the next few days!

Folks it seems like the storm to watch is IKE. Looks like it is going to go right over Castaway and last night it was a Cat 4. This is the one that has me concerned. At this point it is in God'a caring hands and there is not much we can do.

Here in KCMO we have our Doc for WDW but not for either of our cruises. The wait continue. I will be very happy when I have the 9/27 document and I really don't care about this curise because I will already be on board.

I am now at 15 days and still counting!!!! My work is also nuts and I will most likely only have one or two full days off before we leave. I want the next two weeks off so I can rest up for vacation and then sever4al months after of course to rest and play after. NOT HAPPENING.

Well got to get ready for a work meeting on my one day off this week. It isn't too bad as it is a retreat and we are doing lunch and a movie. See everyone soon, Lois

Thanks Lois. We are watching Ike, too. Our local weather guru thinks it may turn and follow Hanna to NC. They have declared a state of emergency from now until Josephine is no longer a threat. People keep commenting on why they would never cruise during hurricane season on the main forum... its to get away from the hurricanes! (Denise... I know you understand! )

Welcome Belle! We have several cruisers on here from Canada.

We are planning to go get our passports this afternoon. Hopefully they will make it here in time!
