10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

I have a question for those of you that teach. Drew is in charge of set building for theupcoming play at our high school and he is going to try to make a prop out of paper mache. Anyone have a tried and true (plus failproof) recipe??? I would appreciate it. He is going to have problems getting it dry I think since the play is next weekend!

Doing my homework. I have started to reread this entire thread and will post the activities that I find. You know what - we have been waiting for a LONG time. And I also talk way too much about the weather so I promist I will try to come up with another topic.

Take care!

Hello to all of my fellow cruisers! :)
I have been bad lately and haven't visited our thread in a long, long, long time. I had 2 WDW trips planned (October 07/Feb 08) and I was planning for those. Now that they are over, I can focus on the cruise! Only 7 more months, can you believe it?? Hopefully the time will fly by!
We have some tentative plans for our cruise: Stingray City in Grand Cayman. We are vey excited about this one since it was cancelled due to bad weather on our last cruise. :guilty: We were SO disappointed. So we are definitely doing it this time. Any others planning on going to Stingray City??
We also plan on going to Paradise Beach in Cozumel. We loved it on our last cruise & plan to visit again.
We have never been to Key West (we had 2 CC stops on our last cruise so we missed Key West) so we have no plans there.
Door Magnets! Anyone planning on decorating their door?? I did on my last cruise and our door was very cute! At the 6 month mark is when I will start to plan & make my door magnets. I'll post a picture of our last door!

Dh and I are planning on getting to Florida on Friday, October 3rd. We are planning on staying at the Hyatt. Anyone else coming in a day early?

Ok-sorry to have been absent from your thread. I would love to get to know others on our cruise! It is only DH and I on this cruise.

Hi all,

We're in the middle of a snowstorm right now.

We had to cancel the Romance Package that we originally booked for the trip. We're trying to lower the cost a bit.

Still looking forward to the cruise though.

Welcome Lauren! Mollygirl, good to hear from you! I feel as though I've sort of been absent from the board lately myself. My life has been so incredibly hectic lately, and tomorrow night I'm leaving for Washington, DC!!! Therefore, I'll be gone for a week and don't know if I'll be posting or not. Haven't decided if I want to take my computer or not.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and I'll talk to you later!
Lori P. :)

Good Morning All!:cheer2:

Mollygirl, I love your door. I'm looking forward to seeing your door art on our cruise.

Lori, have a great and safe time in D.C..

To the Smiths, Here's a thought: Having to cancel something is just the perfect excuse to rebook another cruise while on this one.:thumbsup2

Anyone interested in a group Brunch or group High Tea at Palo? If so drop me a PM.

Starting my diet tomorrow. I've been so bad since I've been off work. I have alot to lose to get into my cruisin clothes. Please send pixie dust my way. I'll need all the help I can get.:scared1:

Have a great day:goodvibes

Welcome Lauren!!

Molly - thank you for posting your door pic! It looks awesome! We did magnets on our last cruise and I will do something for this cruise as well.

JanDave - I wanted to give you the rest of my info for the cruiser list. We are in Cabin 5630 and we are on late seating for dinner. Thank you!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Kelly

Welcome Lauren!!!

I know you excited you must be about this cruise. Even though I've been on several DCL cruises, I'm excited about each cruise.

It actually got to 40 degrees in mid-Michigan today.

Dave and I had a relaxing getaway this weekend. We went to a B&B. The house was 140 years old and sat on a lake. Just loved reading about the history of the home and looking at all the antiques.

Have a great week everyone.

Jan

Lori, Have a wonderful trip. Make sure to take warm things to wear. When we went 2 years ago in March, my cuddle duds were my best friends!!!

Mollygirl, thanks for the pictues. We did not do magnets on our last cruise, but would like to this time.

Ginger, pixie dust to you on your diet. I need to loose some myself, but getting started is so hard!!! Let us know how it goes.

Glindamood, sorry I don't have a recipe that can help you. Good luck.

Everyone have a great evening.

Gena

Good morning, Everyone!

Our weather is beautiful here. My pear trees are blooming however, I'm sure they'll all be gone by tomorrow. We're expecting severe weather today and tonight.

Welcome to all our new Dissers just joining this cruise.

Have a "Wonder" ful and "Magic"al day!

Hi All,
Just got off the phone with DCL about making Brunch reservations at Palo for a group. Here's what I found out:

1. We'll have to settle on a day. Monday Oct 6. or Thursday Oct 9.

2. I'll need information from those interested.
Your names, also the name of the first person on your booking.
Cruise reservation number(s), stateroom number(s) and how many adults from each stateroom attending.

3. Just in case this group reservation can not be done DCL has asked that we still book our reservations online when our 90 or 75 day reserving date comes open. Making your reservation for the same day as the group, the time doesn't matter. By doing this we will still be guaranteed a reservation maybe not as a group but still a reservation to have brunch. We don't want anyone to miss out.

4. Sorry to say I can only request reservations for 12-14 people. At this time I have 11 spots taken. If this group fills up I'm can pass on the information for someone else to start another group.

Sorry to say that we can not do this for High Tea. We could all try to get the same day.

Thank you for well wishes and pixie dust.
I need to get out of this house and get back to work losing will come much easier away from the frig.

Hello all! I haven't been able to check the thread in a day or two. I hate that we missed out on the first group brunch. If we get another group together I think it would be fun. Of course, we will be with my parents and sister (and her husband) so we might have to have our own little group brunch. Maybe we can be in close proximity at least!

I had devastating news this weekend. Our Disney Store at the mall is closing! :sad1: It was my little "happy place" at the mall (which I don't go to often). I would just go in there and almost feel like I was on vacation. :lovestruc Apparently it was a very sudden thing. It was just so sad to go in and see the inventory half gone. Oh well, that's just one more reason to head down a day early. Downtown Disney is calling my name!! :cool1:

I hope you all are well. People are still sick all over the place here. Right now DH and DS are super sinusy. My Granddaddy had a terrible stomach bug today. I think I'll bathe in Lysol tomorrow morning! :lmao:

Off to bed! "Talk" to you soon!

Ginger

:scared1: We were almost to page three!

Sorry to hear about your Disney store Ginger - the one in Traverse City closed several years ago. I don't think I have been in a Disney store in a really long time come to think about it. I am heading to Orlando Sunday for a conference and maybe I can sneak away to DTD for a fix - will have to see what I can do about that.

Hump day everyone - it will be all down hill after today to get to the weekend. Can't really say I am looking forward to it though - time change is Sunday and that means I leave for the airport even earlier. Did I really buy those tickets??? What was I thinking??? Have to leave the house by
5:00AM with work to do when we arrive. But, I will get to see the play both Friday and Saturday night. Can't wait to see that paper mache teapot!

To those who have PM'ed me about the group brunch.

I can not make your reservations, you still have to do that.

What I am doing is faxing DCL to link the reservations together and requesting that our group has the private dining room in Palo.
I need your names and stateroom numbers to place on the fax so they know who's in the group.

I was reminded by the CM that everyone only gets 1 dinner reservation, 1 brunch reservation, and 1 high tea reservation at Palo. That's why everyone has to make their own ressies.

When it's your open date (105, 90 or 75 days out) you can then try to make your Palo reservation request for Monday any time spot if your linking to this reservation.

CM told me that DCL will contact me about 3 weeks out of sailing date to inform if we've got the private dining area.:scared1:

AHH - a bit of a stressful week at work and I can't wait for vacation!!! I think we are going to head up to Hilton Head for a long weekend in May. My parents have another time share there and we are going to tag on to their trip.

Gail - you must be bringing the cold air down to Orlando with you from Michigan!! I saw on the news this morning it will be 67 here on Sunday - brrr!! Just kidding! Have a safe flight!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and all of you in cold weather places are staying warm!!!

:scared1: 67 degrees - my house isn't even that warm! I won't know how to behave. I was in SC a few weeks ago and thought it was wonderful - as the "natives" all wore coats. Funny how your blood makes the adjustments for your climate.

Ginger - thanks so much for getting us on track for a group brunch. When my "day" comes, I will book us for Monday.

Gail,

I'm glad you have a countdown so that I can keep track! We're cruising with our grown children, Blake, his wife Miranda and their son Nate, Eric and Austin and I want to keep up with when I need to tell them, "Okay guys, I need a definative answer of whether you're going on the cruise or not!"

Of course, they say, "Oh yeah, we're going!" Then they throw in comments of they don't know if they can make it or not. Just what Steve and I need.....DRAMA!!

There's always drama when you're a momma!

Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend. It gets me that much closer to April. Steve's 50th birthday is April 21st and I'm taking him to Vegas for the big event. He knows about it, having guessed. Of course, it probably was an easy guess as he's always wanted to go.

Who has the FE (fish extender) gift list? Or, have we started one yet? If not, I'll be happy to get it going, just let me know.
