Hi!
We're leaving on the Halloween Cruise Thurs 10/30/03 and we were wondering if anyone knows what drink mug is for sale right now.

Anyone else gonna be there.

We can't wait

Mike & Alice
4th cruise and counting :)

The latest mug (this month) on the Magic was the same as on the Wonder last month. It has a very pretty scene of the ship, plane, and characters at CC, but no Magic or Wonder name.

If you were wondering if you can use an old mug for the drink program - yes, you may, because even if you buy a new mug you have to pay for a "drink sticker" that goes on your KTTW card to show you have paid for the soda program for that cruise.

If I have the sticker on my card as proof of payment, can they serve soda in a paper cup or do they only fill the mugs?

Somehow I can't see my DD and DS keeping their mugs with them all of the time!

Is it the same for the beer mugs? I understand they're rather large. Nice souvenier but I don't think I'd like to carry it whenever I want a beer!

For the soda program, you don't even need a mug. They actually charge you $5 more for the mug. So, you definitely don't need to carry it around. I have never done the beer mug, but I would assume it works the same way.

No. No need to carry the soda mug! The latest is worth having as a souvenir though. The picture on it is very nice.

I have not done the beer mug. I have seen a lot of people lugging that big mug around though! :earseek:

A beer program on Disney? Did I read this right? Not that I drink beer, just surprising as RCCl and Carnival, as far as I know, do not have such program...

However, is there a wine card??:Pinkbounc

Hmmm...a wine card would be nice too but I've never heard it mentioned.

I have heard about the beer mug but don't know the details. Anyone know what brands of beer are on the magic?

Wondering how the beer and soda programs work?
And what types of soda do they have on the ship? Pepsi or coke products?
Budweiser beer anyone ?

:duck:

I get the beer mug every trip! Just wouldn't be the same without hanging on to that everywhere I go. They are nice heavy glass mugs, I wonder if the logo on them has changed, I have one that says Disney cruise and 2 with the ESPN logo on them.

Belle: they have Coke products on the ships.

I was glad to get back to land and have a Pepsi.

The beer I can't help you with.

If I remember right, the beer choices were draft Bud, Bud light, and Miller lite. Not all were available at every bar though. They had a good variety of beer available, but only the beer on tap worked in the mug.

Can you purchase the mug and not purchase the soda program stickers? I think it would make a great souvenier but I am not much of a soda drinker.

no, at least not as of this past Aug. on the wonder, you can not just purchase the mug. I asked. The ones they sell in the gift shop are different then the soda mugs. The only way to get the soda mug is to pay the full price for the soda program plus the mug. I was bummed as it is a much nicer mug then the one they sell in the shop.....Anyone have an extra they want to share???;) I did not want to spent the $25 for it on the 4 night. I might have to do it though next summer when we go, just to get the nicer mug!

Just to clarify - the Beer program doesn't work the same way as the Soda program.

With Soda, you pay a set price and then the soda's are unlimited for the length of your cruise.

With Beer, you buy the 'mug' for, ummm, I think it was $9.95 or something like that. I don't know the measurements for sure as I don't drink the stuff myself, (but you'll get the idea ;) ) The mug you buy holds say 22oz and the regular beers are 16oz - however, the price to buy a beer either way is the same. So, in the long term you get more bang for your buck :)

The mug is $9.95 and is 22 oz. refills are the same price as the regular 16 oz beer so WebmasterPenny is right - it's 6 oz more for the same price. Usually the bartenders will actually swap your mug for a new clean one that is in their freezer so it's cold & frosty each time. The mug is heavy but is very nice.
Dave has the different beers & prices and a picture of the beer mug listed on his site here: Beer
