I just have to share this with everyone- Woody got the call today. They are moving forward with his hiring!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are not our of the woods yet. The company he will be going to contracts with the company he is at right now. So he has to submit a letter stating that he is seeking the postion and they did not seek him out. He also needs a letter from his boss stating the same. :scared: That one is going to be fun! She is really terrific and a good friend but will not be happy to loose Woody. So keep that "Dust stuff" a comin'! Did I mention that this job would be upwards of $10,000 more? :woohoo:

Sending good thoughts your way!:cheer2: :grouphug: :cheer2:

I just finished catching up for the last couple of days reading.

I thought I'd share a BIG relief. After rescheduling SIX times, we finally took 55 eighth graders skiing yesterday; it was the first trip for all but two students. We had lots of fun and no one was hurt. In all the years we've gone, no one has had a serious accident, just a bruise here and there from falling. However, I've known people who have gotten hurt on their first ski trip. Every year we're glad when it's over.

It's the favorite trip of the year for many and I'm always surprised at which kids take to it quickly and which ones head back to the lodge. Yesterday, this one little guy got on the skis and literally took off with no problems. In two years as his teacher, I've never even seen a glimpse of that much gumption!:confused3

Keep at it Rose. I started out the same way not much more than a month ago. Im almost down 30 pounds now and I am up to running 4.5 miles. The bobalooser page was my motivation. Just someplace to keep me honest was what I needed. Getting myself ready for some more green pearls. We officially booked the other day!!!

way to go mark.:thumbsup2
underdog is almost down to his pre-cruise weight.:headache:

Just BOBing in to say hi  and we did add Rachel's friend Courtney to our reservation yesterday. Rachel is SO EXCITED to be bringing her along! We did have to switch cabins, we are now back in the same cabin we had for KK1, 6550 so if anyone is interested there is a "secret veranda" cabin available unless it was snatched up already :goodvibes Dreams Unlimited was great to work with with answering all my questions about adding an additional person and then actually doing it for us :thumbsup2

welcome courtney. :woohoo:
we were going to try for that secrect porthole but apparently its a very
clickish group up there and no tarts or dogs were allowed.

I finally went and took a pic of my house. I think we're moving on the 26th.

Off to read my book :goodvibes This is the first book I have read since I was pregnant  and I can't put it down :lmao: I even took it with me tonight and read a few chapters in the car on the way to and from Rob's parents anniversary dinner party :rolleyes1

:goodvibes I am so proud of my sweet baby girl. Angelina donated blood today for the very first time. Her high school was having a blood drive and she signed up for it last week. Since she is still 17 we had to give our permission for her to donate. Angelina, her best best friend Trish and their video-tech teacher were all scheduled to donate at 8am. It worked out that only Angelina was qualified to donate as Trish's iron count was too low, and the video-tech teacher was denied because of a recent trip to Africa.

Our local community center is having a blood drive tomorrow and I will be donating some of my "O+ life saving juice" on my way home from work.

kudos to you guys.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
robins O-

What are you reading? I'm always looking for new books. I average 2 books a week! I'm a voracious reader.

portabello road.:wizard:

Portebello road, Portebello road. Streets where the riches of ages are stowed. Anything and everything a chap can unload is sold off the barrow in Portebello road. ;)

Hey Bendy, are you reading anything good right now?

I'm finishing up two books ... 1491 which is a sort of pseudo-history of the Americas before Columbus ran into them in 1492. It's full of anthropology research that argues that civilization in North and South America may have existed even before the ancient Middle Eastern and Chinese did on the other side of the world. It's kind of dry, though, so it's taken me some time to wade through.

Also finishing up Love in the Time of Cholera ... I got distracted by other books so I had to start that one over from scratch.

After that I'm tapped out ... got any suggestions? What are you reading?

Nothing really right now. I have gone back to re-read Narnia because I can't remember what happens in Prince Caspian and the movie is to be released this year. I love to read Nora Roberts. Love the fluff. :thumbsup2 I also love romantic historical fiction. Marie Antoinette, Ann Bolyn, Mary Queen of Scots.

Love anything Mary Queen of Scots. :thumbsup2

Here's a couple for you in keeping with your list:

Mary Queen of Scotland and the Isles - Margaret George
Fatal Majesty - Tannahill
The Secret Diary of Anne Boleyn - Maxwell
Duchess - Susan Holloway Scott

That last one is about Sarah Churchill ... a very good read indeed! There's another one I'm trying to find about Marie Antoinette but I don't know where it is. My books are hopelessly unorganized throughout 7 different bookcases around the house.

The Marie Antoinette that I was thinking of has been discovered, which is really impressive because I couldn't remember the title. All I could remember is that it was a fairly slim volume and I should have shelved it on one of the bookcases in one of our bedrooms. :lmao:

Anyway, the book is Farewell My Queen by Chantal Thomas.

And as I said in my earlier post, it's exceptionally well done. I believe the author is French and this is the English translation.

I loved Queen of Fashion: What Marie Antoinette wore to the Revolution and I want to get The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette. I loved Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. Loved the modern music and the costumes!

Never got to see the movie although I wanted to - waiting for it to hit cable so I don't have to pay extra. ;)
