Well my cold medicine is kicking in. I am going to call it a night. Good to chat with ya! Night B.

Been lurking and thought I'd add.

I just saw a trailer for a new movie about Anne Boelyn (SP) starring Scarlett Johanssen and Natalie Portman. Looked interesting.

I like to read fluff sometimes, but I did read Kite Runner and Atonement over Christmas break. I wanted to read before I saw the movie. I liked KR but not Atonement.

Just for fun, I like to read Nevada Barr, Lee Smith, and Janet Evanovich. Very light.

Jay and I have put together the beginnings of a travel blog, and we're starting to send invitations to people who are interested in reading some non-disney stuff as well as the disney stuff we've been doing here on the DIS.

It's a private blog, which means it can only be accessed by those people who have been invited and who have registered with Google in order to read and post.

If anyone here would like to join, please send me a PM with your email address and I'd be happy to send you an invitation from the blog. No pressure - my feelings won't be hurt if someone isn't interested in joining. It's really a way for me to try to continue to hone my writing skills while sharing the food review love with some of the terrific people I've gotten to know here on the DIS.

Thanks for your time and have a good evening (USA) / morning (Brits). :goodvibes

just want to say thanks to everyone for my congrats. Walt will for sure do it next week. I am watching grandkids this weekend until Tuesday while daughters and best friend go to Reno for oldest daughter birthday. I am at their house since daughter has a dog that sheds alot. Diane

Hi Tanya! I've seen that preview too and it does look like it might be pretty interesting. I've looked at the book it's based on before, but haven't read it.

I liked The Kite Runner a lot but it was sure a hard book to read on an emotional level. It was like being punched in the gut over and over again.

Just curious - what didn't you care for in Atonement? That was one that I really really liked - enjoyed the movie, too; but I almost always like the book better. :goodvibes

Thanks Rose. This project is taking me so much longer. At first I couldn't get the cover right so a very special DISer designed one for me. Then, Kristin was dragging her heals getting the music for me. After that, I couldn't find the right kind of paper to print everything out on. At least now I have everything I need (except a cd burner...mines busted) to get them done. I just needed to know a final guest list count so that everyone gets one and that I don't burn more than I have to.

Yes, I have tried the Skinny Latte's. They are good and the ones I usually order are: Grande, decaf, skim, sugar free gingerbread (with only 2 1/2 pumps of syrup rather than 5). But I'm so addicted to them, that I would have two every weekend and I rather eat my WW points than drink them. :rotfl:[/quote

I would rather eat than drink my points. I dont usually count my coffee points. I guess that is why i never use my 35 points i use them for coffee. Diane

I agree about Kite Runner. I can only read a book like that once in a while. The worst one like that I have ever read is an oldie: The Dollmaker. I disliked my husband for weeks after reading that book (just because of the book --nothing he'd done that time. He wasn't even like the husband in the book). I won't let myself read it again.

As for Atonement, I haven't seen the movie. I found myself skimming in the book, at times hard to follow and at times dry.

Evening everyone. Alex and I just got home from seeing Fool's Gold. It was cute. We went with our friend/babysitter. Her son watched the two little ones.:scared1: He even had to change a diaper for the first time! He did a great job.

Hey, Sis! Was it as good as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days?

I'm with you - I can only read something like that now and then. Once I finished The Kite Runner I went back and started reading Harry Potter again just to lift my mood. :lmao:

I agree - the book is rather dry and I also found it hard to follow in places. I actually skimmed it and then went back and made myself slow down while I was reading. Then I was able to fall into the story a little better and I really ended up enjoying it. The movie is gorgeous and so is the soundtrack. :thumbsup2

:cake: :bday: party:

I'm a little early since your birthday is the 17th, but we're going to be pretty busy tomorrow and I didn't want to forget to send you some birthday wishes.

Have a great day and don't forget to tell us all about your dinner experience that you had tonight! :goodvibes

My books are hopelessly unorganized throughout 7 different bookcases around the house.
I saw all of this and had to read them all to Sean. He is a huge reader, especially history. Brenda he will be moving into your house ASAP, we have only managed 3 bookshelves in our little house and if he could get rid of all the other furniture and put bookshelves in he would, but I won't let him, that would mean taking MY tv out:cool1: He takes it after my MIL who is a big British Royalty reader, especially the Tudor period.

Sean said he feels the same way, when he was finished he read John Steinbeck's Sweet Thursday. He suggests The Mercury Visions of Louis Daguerre, by Domini Smith.

So we did a family trip day today. We went to Sacramento, and saw the Bodies Revealed exhibit. It is the exhibit that has bodies that have been disected to reaveal the certain aspects of the body and are preserved by them injecting polymer into them. It was interesting, but not as much as I thought. I think most of it was because I took an anatomy class so most of it wasn't new to me. Sarah on the other hand loved it, and with her disability I think it is easier for her to learn by visual vs through a book.

But before all of this we were bad and discovered the Cheesecake Factory. Very good food but expensive. Oh and Karen, cheesecake galor, I had the tuxedo cheesecake (chocolate heaven), Sean had the tiramisu cheesecake (he loved it), and Sarah had the Chocolate Peanut Butter cheescake (a big Ellis no-no, but that's ok it wasn't that great). We brought home a piece of carrot cake cheesecake, yummo! Oh and they do ship them.;)

You are so making me hungry, Becky.....go away oh temptation!

Portebello road, Portebello road. Streets where the riches of ages are stowed. Anything and everything a chap can unload is sold off the barrow in Portebello road. ;)

Tragoona, mercoides, trecorum satis dee.....:rotfl:

Ok, as requested I have made the logo bigger for t-shirts etc.

I made two versions, a rectangular one and a round one. I've also made two versions of the rectangular one, one like our siggie logo and one with some extra space to add your own stuff.

If you want your name(s) added but don't know how, I will gladly help you out with that, just let me know :thumbsup2

Like Jen said earlier, these logos would look great on black tees :woohoo: Easy to spot black tees with orange logos on them

Here's the direct link to the logo page

Also, in case you haven't peeked, I added the pumpkin clipart that Jen found and the Mickey Ears to the door signs page. I did two Mickey Ears set per page so that there is less waste when you are printing them off onto magnetic paper.

Cass, all the designs look great! Thanks for doing them!

Now, I can't wait to do t-shirts!
