it was the Olympus Stylus 790SW

Here's my honest opinion:

Pros:
Cost: Under $300 (I got a great bargain on Newegg.com) For a waterproof camera that's a steal!
Waterproof?: YES! It performed beautifully. Even in Salt water. I really held my breath the first time I dunked it, but It survived w/o a problem. Interesting Story: After returning from CC I needed to clean the Salt water from my camera. The instructions said to soak the camera in fresh water for 10 minutes and repeatedly open and close the lens cover to remove and retained debris. Well, Laura interrupted me while I was performing that task and with my swiss cheese brain, I forgot that I left the camera soaking in the sink. We ran off to dinner. Upon returning to our cabin our steward nervously approached me, to inform me that he found my camera in a sink full of water. (I think he really wanted me know know that he didn't have anything to do with a broken camera.) I informed him that the camera was waterproof and there was nothing to worry about. His relief was palpable. So... did it work after it's extended soaking? Yes. perfectly.
Shockproof?: You betcha! Laura dropped it in Grand Cayman onto the sidewalk. Now every time I drop my cell phone, I end up with a new scratch or dent (and the thing hardly has any mass!) I have yet to find any mark whatsoever on the thing! (your mileage may vary) Picked it up, works like a charm.
Ease of use: Very self explainatory. I've yet to pick up the manual.
Picture Quality: 7 megapixels. That's great definition for the price. When I get around to posting my pictures... you can see for yourselves. I need to figure out a way to post the pics so that I don't have to decrease the resolution!
Batterylife: Last time I charged it, was onboard the Magic. Granted I haven't but used it a few times since then but that's not bad. It's always ready to go when I am.
Size: I love things that once placed in my pocket, I forget about them. (of course that is how I washed my cell phone that one time) Very small very thin and very easy to tote about.
Viewscreen: Gargantuan for the size of the camera.

Cons:
Propriatary Olympus memory chip--I hate propriatary things. It smacks of, "I'm the only one making this so you'll just have to pay what I charge and like it." One of the biggest reasons why I have never owned an Apple.

Well that does it for the cons.

Steve, I use the xd memory cards in mine. :thumbsup2

Disney Visa question.........

I put the deposit of KK2 on my new Disney Visa. That is the only charge on this new card. Now I should not have a finance charge for 6 months, right? I have a finance charge. I will call them about it, but I wanted to ask here first.

That is correct, no finance charge for the first six months for your KK2 deposit.

OK guys,
Before KK1 you were talking about a waterproof digital camera. Which one was it? And did you like the pics it took?

Ok Karen this one is for you,
I noticed that you were wearing the croc sandals that came out this year. Are they comfy, and how do they fit, do they stay on while walking or do they slip?

I agree with everything that Steve said. Two things though - when the battery goes dead it is dead. It doesnt warn you at all...works for one picture and dead the next. It also charges better when you take the charger along with you on a cruise. Thank goodness a few others had them (Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!)

I have posted a few pics but here they are again...

Our waiter did find the Olympus hard to use. We asked him to take a group shot of us and this is what we got...

This waiter was a hoot....couldnt have asked for a better one!!!

The no interest deal is automatic. But beware. Do not hold a balance on the card beyond the 6 mos. Your interest bearing purchases pay off first then your non-interest. So If you use the card and it is not completely paid off at the end of 6 mos... then you loose the interest free status of the deposit and interest is added AND back dated to the day that you charged the deposit. It's tricky.

Well, I'm pretty please with myself - not a drop of wine last night:yay:
Nor did I scoff any snacks either:yay:

I'm really trying hard this week. My clothes are to the point of extreme uncomfort and the seams are at bursting point, so its necessity rather than vanity at this point:lmao:

I'm painting for 3 hours today then doing an exercise video

I think I need to check into this Loser group! I was at work work yesterday ... minding my own business ...

My drivers have wire cages that are supposed to be inthe back of their cars. Some have removed them ... and put them back by my desk. I was trying to get to a shelf behind them and skimmed my inner leg on a metal bar from one of the cages. :scared: ok ... small snag in the pants, right? Right.

After work, I check my e-mail and find that the boys basketball practice has been moved from Tuesday to last night. I think to myself "go change" but I don't. Fast forward to basketball practice ...

The coach is out of town and only 3 parents stayed, so I decide I need the exercise ... I'll help. I'm running my heart out with 5th and 6th graders trying to get the ball. I bend down ... and you guessed it. :rotfl2: At first I didn't remember and thought I ripped a muscle, but as I was running, I felt a draft. I started laughing ... the kids, thank goodness, were clueless.

I had to call my mom (gotta love being rescued at my age) to bring me a pair of sweats!.. I sent her a text ... with a picture. When she showed up she called, she couldn't speak ... just laugh. :rotfl2: :lmao:

So, I think I need to join the Loser club!

Ok so you 2 can explain things to this West Coaster. What is the difference between sleet and an ice storm?

I don't think I saw a reply where anyone took a stab at this, so after the last two days here in Stinktown I feel ever-so-qualified to give it a go:

Sleet is a form of precipitation that consists of frozen raindrops or partially melted snowflakes that have refrozen - also known as ice pellets. They bounce when they hit the ground and make a very distinct light rattle when they do so. Sleet doesn't usually freeze into a solid mass on the ground unless it's mixed with freezing rain. The worst thing about sleet is that it doesn't usually melt after it falls, but accumulates on the pavement making it almost impossible to drive on. Our friends in Britain sometimes refer to sleet as soft hail.

An ice storm is mother nature's way of slapping mankind upside the head during the winter months. It's characterized by freezing rain - lots of it. Freezing rain begins as snow at high altitudes but melts as it falls from the clouds toward earth because it passes through a layer of above-freezing temperatures before encountering another layer of air below that which is below-freezing. The snow-turned-to-rain becomes super-cooled and freezes immediately upon contact with any object. That's why ice storms are so dangerous - everything freezes over ... power lines, phone lines, streets, sidewalks.

This concludes today's abbreviated winter weather lecture. Those of you who live in states subject to uglier weather than those of us in the armpit of the midwest, feel free to chime in - we all know I'm no expert and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. :rotfl:

I'll leave you with this one....:)

The only cow in a small town in Poland stopped giving milk. The
people did some research and found that they could buy a cow from
Moscow for 2,000 rubles, or one from Minsk for 1,000 rubles. Being
frugal, they bought the cow from Minsk. The cow was wonderful. It
produced lots of milk all the time; and the people were very happy.

So they decided to acquire a bull to mate with the cow and produce
more cows like it. Then they would never have to worry about the milk
supply again.

They bought a bull and put it in the pasture with their beloved cow.
However, whenever the bull came close to the cow, the cow would move
away. No matter what approach the bull tried, the cow would move away
from the bull and he could not succeed in his quest. The people were
very upset and decided to ask the rabbi, who was very wise, what to do.

The people told the rabbi: "Whenever the bull approaches our cow, she
moves away. If he approaches from the back, she moves forward. When
he approaches her from the front, she backs off. An approach from the
side and she just walks away to the other side."

The rabbi thought about this for a minute and asked, "Did you buy this
cow from Minsk?"

The people were dumbfounded, since they had never mentioned where they
had gotten the cow. "You are truly a wise rabbi," they said. "How did
you know we got the cow from Minsk?"

The rabbi answered sadly...."My wife is from Minsk."

Spent the last 4 hours glossing woodwork...went to fetch Ellis... I had put the step ladders in front of the one doorway so he couldnt even get near it....told him exactly where was still wet etc...started running a bath...doorbell goes...get rid of man at door...run up to turn bath off before it floods...2 seconds later he admits he put his whole hand on the gloss:mad: - great! - big tacky finger print mess....run back downstairs to try "repair" doorway - made it look even worse....then

realize Ellis has drifted back into the lounge:scared1:

Yep! - a big white sodding hand print on two out of four leather sofas

I want to kill him

I really do

I think I will

I panicked - Tried to get it off with turps!:scared1: - god knows what that will do to the leather - it was pulling out some dye while I was wiping it.

Rant over - I cant go back in the lounge - I'm too frightened to look at the sofas

If I do I am likely to explode and kill him if they're ruined. They are a year old and cost us an absolute fortune:sad2: - I guess I need to buy a throw for each sofa:sad2:

7 year old child for sale............actually not for sale - going free - I'll even pay the air fare

Deep breaths love, deep breaths....Karen maybe Ellis could move into our shed with our two cats who last week decided to fight in our window bottom and in the process break TWO pieces of 1960's Lladro Figurines which cost us in excess of $2000,someone please remind me again why we have children and animals living in our houses....:confused3
PS...Ellis if your reading this mummy still loves but it's just best to stay out of her way for a year or two mate....:rolleyes1

I know what you mean, and we still can't believe she is already three months into her senior year, the time seems to be flying by. Of course, we just finished up the 5th fundraiser for the band/choir trip, which is keeping us mighty busy. The band/choir trip this Spring is to Chicago, the kids will be going for five days. Hazel and I were thinking of going on the trip, but one look at their very busy schedule, we decided to stay home.................

Andy,

If you decide you are going after all, remember Chicago is only about 75 minutes from Milwaukee. We could all do a Mini-Midwest Meet. :thumbsup2
