Yeah, Becky, there are other parents out there like us.

Maybe Joanne had a sweet loveable teen and not like my ST (stinky teen)
(as Andy so nicely put it).

I do applaud you Joanne!:worship:
I wish I was feeling more loving and sensitive, but the way that my teen age son talks back to me:eek: :sad2:
I just can't tell you how happy I am he's going all the way to Florida,

I remember his younger years fondly though:hug:
before he turned 15:scared1:
He used to love me and be nice way back then, we actually used to be closer than any of our own friends!

So my missing him was way back then when I wished he'd turn into that sweet little buddy of mine:hug:

But Becky, :thumbsup2
:yay: :cheer2: YIPPEE!:dance3:

They both had and still have their moments, but compared to what's out there I will keep them. DH is in Boston right now so Ds # 1 grilled steak last night and DS # 2 is making chicken picatta tonight. So some where along the line we did something right. They still don't know how to get dirty dishes in the dishwasher or laundry in the hamper, but they are ok. Just so darn expensive, cars, car insurance, college and now grad school...... Please send one of those tress to Florida, just think how much better it would grow year round.

Southwest still doesn't charge until you check a third bag, and that's per passenger. I wonder what's so different in their business model that the other carriers haven't been able to copy after all these years?

I would rather pay a higher ticket price (and we already are - our ticket prices at both AA and Southwest are higher this year than last). I don't want to get to the airport and suddenly be smacked with all these additional fees so the airline can try to pad its already miniscule margin.

I think increased ticket prices / fares are reasonable given the cost of oil and jet fuel and I think that most people wouldn't complain about it (much ... ;) ). But charging travelers for their luggage strikes me as the most unreasonable thing that a carrier could do, short of charging us a toll to actually board the plane. Or maybe they could start charging us to exit the plane? Maybe they can start weighing all of us at the ticket counter and if we exceed the recommended weight for our age and height they can charge a dollar per-pound overage fee.

And maybe I have a new career waiting for me in the ludicrous surcharge department. :rotfl2:

Not sure how SW can be profitable while the others can't. How's that for a concept, charge less, fly more people and make money. Naw, that won't work.

I dated a girl in college who's dad was a VP of a major theatre chain in the US. I told her if they charged less for the popcorn and soda, people would buy more, thus even with smaller margins, they'd still make more in the end. Nope, they just wanted to rake you over the coals on the soda and popcorn. :sad2:

Hey, the airlines are just taking this "add fee here" approach from governments. Since the gov't can't get away with increasing your taxes all the time, they just start charging you more for sevices (plate renewal in WI has doubled under the current governor and all other license/permits/fees have gone way up). This way they can say the fares are still low, just like the government tells us they didn't raise our taxes.

Sorry, they're a cold weather plant. You chose the warm climate, you give up on having a money tree. :rotfl:

Although, you'll see a lot of little old ladies with blue hair down there for 183 days a year just to come back up here to harvest the fruit from the tree every summer. :rotfl2:

I hear you on that one. I may have my increases mixed up, but wasn't the last tax increase an upage in the payroll taxes rather than on income taxes?

You know what? Talking about all this makes me want to drink ... right now ... at my desk ... :lmao:

Only 183 days some never leave, you should see the commissary the first Saturday of the month!!!! They don't work they shoudl shop during the week and leave the week ends for us worker bees.

Check the bottom left drawer. :rotfl2:

Oh, don't get me started on the "blue hairs" shopping. We have a grocery store right across the street from the office. They can shop ANY time of the day they want, but they choose the lunch hour to go over there. :sad2: Just can't figure that one out. Then, don't forget, they have to drive back home and they're on the roads at that time.

:rotfl: :rotfl: This made me chuckle. We have many blue haired ladies at our commissary, too. I don't mind them now, but when my kids were babies and they would give me unwanted advice, whew, that was rough!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Bendy girl, Hi Number Boy.

Hi Sistah! :goodvibes

Hey, thanks for the kind words about the last review. I meant to send you a PM and then I got all distracted by work and bridal showers and junk like that. :lmao:

Tell your girl we all said happy birthday ... or is it someone else's birthday today? I can't keep track anymore ... I just follow everyone else's lead.

How close is your office to AB? Don't they give free samples after the tours? :rotfl:

I try not to drink AB products unless I'm desperate ... just don't like them very much anymore. And it's too far from here anyway.

I'll have some nice Irish Cream later tonight ... after working on my latest loan request late at home last night and the night before I think it will be nice to relax tonight. Jay is working late so I'll have the place all to myself. :thumbsup2

Hi Kids!

Well, after an expensive phone call from my mechanic, an unusally long trip home from work (stupid train that was stuck on the tracks) ,some moron who cut off the guy ahead of me which caused him to drive into a ditch, and coming home to yet another wedding plan crisis, I power up my desktop and guess what I find? Yup!! :headache:  THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!!! :headache:

Bendy, pass that booze bottle over here please!:sad2:

Well Technology Girl, it was sent to me via text message on my phone and I have no idea how to get it from there to the web. I know numbers, not computers (except for Excel).

Trust me, it wasn't all that exciting, just Steak and Shake. I went to one in St. Louis when I had a conference there and like it. They have them here in MKE now. He sent me a TM saying he got down there and was at S&S and I told him I liked that place. So when he left he sent me a pic. He was making me hungry.

Technology girl :lmao: I like it ;)

Hi All......

This dial-up is killing me, not to mention that there is a horrible brush fire only 3 miles away from us, 140 homes in the next town over has already been evacuated. I sent Jeff a pic from my cell phone a little while ago. We were driving into our area when I saw all this smoke, 1000 acres have already been burnt. We are keeping a close eye on the news.

Not sure if this link is going to work, but I was just reading this on the local Fox News Station http://www.myfoxorlando.com/myfox/p...n=7&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=1.1.1

I'm going to try and look back and see what I missed, but I am using my free Netzero account and I only get 10 hours of online service per month.
