Oh, well, that's ok then! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I didn't get any this year :sad2: I happened to have 1 day with willpower, and that's the day the order form went around the office!

My god daughter was selling them and I always have to buy them! Wouldn't want her to not get a patch or anything! She usually is the top seller for her troop. I pass it out in my office as does Woody. What's nice is that my bestfriend brought my office cookies to me. She used to work here and just passed them out and collected the money. Now I have to get Woody's cookies to him. I was a little worried he would be leaving before they came in but everything worked out fine.

The daycare DS goes to now (which I love and was a godsend when he was 1-3 especially) does have a summer/before/after school program, but I am also looking at our YMCA. DS is so active, and it looks like they do a lot of sports, swimming, field trips, etc. I picked up a brochure for the Y program this year (just to see, he wouldn't go until next summer) and the cost isn't horrible. $90 per week plus field trips (which range from $6-$20 per week, only 1 week is $20).

All I know is come September, we'll be able to breathe a bit easier....

Only $90 a week? :scared1: We were paying $196 a week last year for summer camp.

Yes, we paid when the £/$ rate was good. We also booked our car from the airport yesterday, so I think that's about everything done.

We are so far from done. We need Hotel in DL and possible another the night before we sail, car rental, trip insurance, xfers to/from the ports.

Guess I should start doing some of that now that we are inside 6 months.

I know - I thought that was pretty good! That is the member rate, so if you add in the $66/month we pay to belong to the Y....it's still a pretty good deal. I think the daycare is $125/week for the summer program....

Ok, well I really should get back to work. I'll try to log on tonight if anyone's around. If not, I'll be :happytv:

Tell Angelina she has no choice! - she has to come and meet the mad australian that Daddy talks to every day:lmao:

It would be sooo much fun if you can make it:banana:

I had Hazel call the Massage Therapy School that Angelina is signed up to start with this September. She starts 9/15, which also happens to be her 18th birthday. This is the kicker, the schedule for the end of December beginning of January goes like this:

12/24--off
12/25--off
12/26--off
12/27--off
12/28--Classes will be held
12/29--Classes will be held
12/30--off
12/31--off
1/1/09-off
1/2----off
1/3----off
1/4----off
1/5--Classes resume

Now is that crazy or what.................:headache: :headache: :headache:

I think for the one day we have to do it, I'm sure it will be fine.

Where do these buses drop you off at the MK? I never see anything but the WDW buses. Do they go to the Transportation Terminal across the lake?

It's been so long, but I think we were dropped off at TTC.

You lay down those rules Andy! :rotfl:

I'm sure she'll be off school for at least that week, so I bet she'll go. Let us know how it goes.

Would you be driving?

Have a good afternoon at work.

I just posted about the school schedule a few minutes ago, I'm not a happy camper about the schedule, that's for sure.

Our plumber just left, everything is flowing fine again, thank goodness. George fixed the broken vent pipe that we had for free. George is a good guy, plus whenever anyone in town should ask me about needing a plumber, I always give them George's name.

You could always move. :rolleyes1

Maternity leave is 12 weeks - that's 3 months. What do you want, 18 years until they go to college?

Vacation pay comes down to where you work. My company gives 2 weeks for years 0-3, 3 weeks years 3-6, 4 weeks years 6-15, and 5 weeks years 15+. We also get 2 personal days, 2-3 floating holidays (depends on when the holidays fall that we close for. We get 10 total between "hard" and "floating"), and 6 sick days. I then negotiated another 12 days into my comp package.

Just gotta find the right employer. I dont' think anything should be mandated.

Now just wait with your response until I get my flame retardent suit on.

I'm up to 5 weeks vacation, 3 personal days, 13 paid holidays, and I get 15 sick days a year. But what sick time isn't used goes into a sick bank, then the township will bye back 45% of what hours we have in the sick bank when we retire at the rate of pay we are making at retirement. My foreman retired a few years back and got a check for over $14,000 from his sick bank.

Would you fly or drive down?

Once you look at the time to drive and the cost of gas, it may be cheaper even with the inflated airfares.

"If" we come down, we would most likely drive down. I would like to take two weeks and I would need to have my car since we will be about an hour north of the WDW area.

We all know how expensive children can be!

Boy, you said a mouthful there Shelley.............

BTW, I'm still trying to catch up from this afternoon...................:rotfl2: and we have a Music Department meeting tonight at the high school about that EXPENSIVE trip to Chicago in May............

Who the heck schedules classes the week between Xmas and NY's?

Looks like you'll have more time after those classes than before. Unfortunately, unless airfares dictate otherwise, we will be down between the holidays. Although, NYE in FL would be cool. Karen doesn't fly back until the 31st, so maybe coming down on the 28th or 29th would work.

I see you're posting like me Andy, not reading ahead. :rotfl:

Don't have to tell me how expensive kids are. Daycare alone was $45K for DS up to age 4 1/2. I could have bought 3 or 4 DVC's for that.

That doesn't include all the other cr@p you have to pay for. I think the days of $200k-$250k to raise a kid to age 18 are long gone.

Not sure how my parents did it with 4 kids and only my dad working. Although, my vacations were going to Green Bay and seeing my grandparents.

I didn't get on a plane until I was 23. We never went out of the state either.

Been there, done that................growing up as 1 of 5 kids, we only went on one vacation and that was to the Jersey shore for one week. Angelina doesn't know how good she's got it!!! ;)

Well..that's me done for today. It's been really busy at work...so won't be arond until tomorrow evening.

Night all

My brother works for the State. Any unused vacation time they get to use to buy their health insurance in retirement.
