Hey guys - what's been happening? I havent felt like posting since the 3rd. - I got fired from my job on that day. :sad1: But, we're still going on the cruise. Don't need any sympathy from anybody, just pray for me to get a decent job! Still looking forward to seeing everybody on the boat tho.

Well - it's a bunch of LEADERS doing the camping this weekend - no kids allowed (YAY!!!!) But I think that pillowfighting is an ESSENTIAL part of girl scouting... right up there with selling cookies!!

Which reminds me of a funny picture someone sent me yesterday...

Good thing I always buy lots!

I don't know if anyone remembers, but we had two friends, Dave and Giap, that were supposed to cruise with us but had to back out because she got pregnant. Well, if she hasn't had the baby by Friday, they are inducing her. She was originally told that she was having a girl, but about a month ago, she had to have another ultrasound and it turns out that she is having a boy. So that makes a grand total of 5 boys and 1 girl.:scared1:

Good luck to them. Wow that's a bunch of kids!:grouphug:
It'll be expensive to take all of them on a Disney cruise.

Hey all!! Just a quick note (non-cruise related) - but my brother held his baby boy today for the first time!! Wanted to share the picture!!

I'm sooooo excited for him! Love them all so much! Thank you all for your prayers and hugs - they have truly been a blessing to us all!

Yeay!!!!

Also...some dust stuff for Dave and Giap...pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:
I hope everything goes well.

When they have those little short buffetts with finger foods outside Rockin Bar D, I don't usually eat them.

I'm allergic to shrimp and the people who work there never seem to know if there's seafood in anything. :confused3 So I probably miss out on a lot of good stuff.

I've never seen this. But I too would be bummed and not eat any of it if no
one could tell me what's in them. I'm not allergic to anything but there's a lot
of foods I won't eat and don't want to be surprised by anything.

Good morning all!

Ok, I am really getting excited for the cruise!!!:banana::banana:

This morning, I went to Walgreens, and while I was there I perused the Halloween aisle, and they had Disney stuff! I got a small Mickey Mouse Halloween themed activity book for DS (that will go in the carry on suitcase!) and booklets of stickers_also Mickey Halloween theme, and buttons! I got a sticker booklet and button for each of the 3 boys (DS and my nephews). Cool!

Angie - are they crunchy or soft cookies? We don't get them here in the UK.

You must be allergic to Iodine then Robin. I don't eat any shellfish. Can't stand the taste or feel of it in my mouth...YUCK.

I do like the little sweet pastries and chocolate covered strawberries though...delish!

You know...cookies don't usually worry me, but when you see them all laid out in the buffet, I start to crave crunchie cookies...but they are all ususally soft and chewy.:sad2:

We had some really lovely ones on the Jewel in May. Peanut and Coconut...really yummy. Sorry Karen!

Well, I guess she went in to labor this morning. I think they left the house around 4:30-5:00 am. She said she was trying to wait until morning; I was a bit worried that she may not make it to the hospital--Bethesda, about an hour away! But it is 7:25 am now, and I haven't heard anything, so I guess she made it. I am glad for her. It's been a long wait for her and she just wants this baby to be born so she can get on with life. I'm sure she'll be bugging the docs to let her come home early.:rotfl:

Great news:goodvibes

Good morning Heather and Angie:wave2:

Well I'm off, just over at Bob's on my day off and he's already gone to work.
I'm going to a Dr.'s appt then back home to finish my tag gifts and perhaps I'll even attempt a tshirt today.

Yep, been there done that!!! I can't say I miss base housing, but I do miss those days when the kids were little of me not working and having that great group of friends.

Awwww.... bringing back such great memories!!! We ALWAYS lived in base housing and i remember running all round the neighborhood because it was safe - wish I could do that with my kiddos now! :-(

Nope, another neighbor has them, but all but one goes to school, so not a big deal. We're "helping out" by driving their days for football carpool for a while....well, and cooking meals....

One thing about being on a base--the friendwho had her children this morning put out an email around 5:30am, saying that they were going to the hospital and she was setting up meals. Within the hour, she had meals for 2 weeks.

I'm sure she'll be fine; she a tough one!;)

That is so awesome. Truly an extented family.

She has to be a tough cookie to have that many kids.:thumbsup2

Good morning everyone!

Last night I ended up going to New York for the Yankees/Blue Jays game. Elaine was supposed to go with one of her friends, but it fell through. I went last week, so I wasn't really sure I wanted to this week too. Its a money thing, and I got a cruise in 5 weeks! Well, I put the tickets on Stubhub, but because the game is meaningless pretty much, no one was paying face value for the tickets. At lunch yesterday, Elaine said to me, "why don't you call your friend Rick and go to the ballgame. I don't want the tickets to go to waste." I was, "Sweet, ok"

So...in an hour's time I was on my way to pick up my friend and head to New Haven to take the train. I have been wanting to try the train now that they have train service to the stadium, but just haven't got around to it yet.

It was a great game. The Yankees won it with a walkoff hit, Mariano Rivera got the win. The only bad thing was we didn't get back on the train until 11:00 PM, and then I had to go to my friends house to get my car. He lives about 40 minutes from me. It was 2:00 AM before I finally got home. I would have got home about an hour sooner if I didn't go with my friend, but it was a good time.

Now...DIS business...

Chaz, good seeing you back. Sorry to hear about your job. Hoping you find something soon.

Angie, glad to see the twins are doing well and that the father got a chance to hold one or both (can't remember!).

Now I have to do a Dunkin Donuts coffee run for my wife. Be back shortly!

You don't get girl scout cookies??? OH NO!! I am going to see if I can pack a box for you in my luggage!

They vary, but most of them are crunchy. The 3 "top" ones are Samoas, Thin Mints and Tagalongs. Here are piccies of them:

Here is the link to the bakery website that shows all of them: http://www.littlebrownie.com/cookies/index.html

They are DIVINE!!! (We don't sell them until February, though... I just have some left over in my freezer!)

Yummy!! I'm getting hungry now.....:woohoo:
