I think if I had an almost 3 year old, the verandah would make me VERY nervous. I'm sending you someto hope you get a window (she would love that!!)
Just read that Patrick Swayze died![]()
Hey everyone...
Just got back from picking up a prescription for Jay. There is nothing like walking around Walmart for 40 minutes trying to entertain myself. I looked at camera accessories, played a game of Guitar Hero 5, and wandered around a bit.
Still no word from DU for my parents.
It's been dreadfully slow, even unavailable at times.Geez, what happened to the DIS. Dead for the longest time!.
After Bob did his pole dance this is what happened next!Scott WITH Bob.

Hi! Nice to meet you![]()
It's been dreadfully slow, even unavailable at times.
What's the first thing everyone wants to do once on the ship? We will head to topsiders for lunch then swimming for the kids and the first of many ice creams for me. Yummo!
Wow, the meals really don't thrill me that much. I guess my favorite food item is the fresh pineapple. mmmmmmm, love it!
And, of course, ice cream is one of my favs, but a strawberry smoothie tops the list.![]()
We were actually talking about hitting topsiders instead of parrot cay. I think it would be nice to sit outside and eat.
I know one thing. We're spending more time up on deck 10 this time and less time in Rockin Bar D.![]()
I'll post the the recipe below (and send it via PM so it doesn't get lost in the messages!)
**This is a Pampered Chef recipe - but you can just subsitute the products listed below with what you have!***
Black Forest Trifle
Ingredients:
1 pkg (18-21 oz) brownie mix (plus ingredients to make cake-like brownies)
2 bars (1.55 ounces each) milk chocolate candy, divided (I used the 4.5 oz bar of Hershey special dark chocolate cuz I like dark choc)
3 cups cherry pie filling (I used 2 whole cans of it - extra cherries!)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup cranberry-cherry juice (couldn't find this, so I used regular cranberry juice... not a super important ingredient..)
2 cups cold 2% milk
2 pkg (3.3 oz each) white chocolate instant pudding and pie filling
1 container (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions for cake-like brownies; spread batter over bottom of Large Bar Pan. Bake 18-20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
Loosen brownie from sides of bar pan and invert onto flat side of Large Grooved Cutting Board. Cut brownie into 1-in. cubes; set aside. Chop 11/2 of the chocolate bars using Food Chopper. Reserve remaining chocolate for garnish.
Combine pie filling and almond extract in Small Batter Bowl; set aside 1/2 cup for garnish. Stir juice into batter bowl.
Pour milk into Classic Batter Bowl; add pudding mix and whisk until mixture begins to thicken. Fold in whipped topping.
To assemble trifle, place half of the brownie cubes into bottom of Trifle Bowl. Layer with half of the pie filling mixture. Sprinkle with half of the chopped chocolate; top with half of the pudding mixture. Repeat layer one time.
Make chocolate curls with reserved chocolate using Vegetable Peeler (see Cook's Tip). Garnish top of trifle with reserved pie filling mixture and chocolate curls. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving.

Cooks Tips: To make chocolate curls, hold the Vegetable Peeler across the short side of the chocolate bar. Using even pressure, push the blade away from you to create curls.
This trifle can be assembled several hours before serving, or even the night before.

you should, I hear you will be beside two loud snoring people and 2 teenagers that don't agree on anythingWell, we got upgraded from our 12 GTY to a CAT 10. I'm happy with the room location and happy about the upgrade but not happy that we are in a connecting room
I will be trying to get an upgrade at the port I guess
M & R, watch out!!!![]()
No, that would be horrible!!! I know my sweet baby girl and she has a lot of meltdowns and cries a lot. I don't wish any BOBer to be in that connecting cabin next to ours!!!![]()
I REALLY hope they have some paid upgrades available at the port![]()
I am a pushy, mouthy Canadian...I will win![]()

Ok, from the looks of Bernie's text...she's in the connecting cabin to mine
Poor Bernie![]()

From the DCL site:
Changes Effective 2011:
For cruises sailing in 2011, Deluxe Inside Staterooms will be reclassified into 3 new categories: 10A, 10B, 10C. These categories will be located on Decks 1, 2, 5 or 7. Decks 1 and 2 offer convenient access to restaurants and nightclubs. Deck 7 is an upper deck with more commanding views.
What is your most favorite food item on the ship? Mine would be the steak in Palo's. Followed by watermelon and ice cream.
